Hey, how tall are you?
Me: *0.7 Toyota Corollas*
Jerome Isturis damn man u tall af
you're only 1.015 m. nice
Whats the time stamp for toyota corolla
Length of the car from bumper to bumper or wheels to roof?
Your mother has more mass than a black hole
Ah yes, the Toyota Corolla. The most universally accepted measurement system.
LeonM indeed
LeonM I prefer the Prius scale
still better than imperial
LeonM banana for scale
For weight, yes. But for length it is footballfields.

I was having a hard time comprehending the sheer scale, until the traditional Toyota measurement cleared it right up for me.
Gonna need it in Ford for us Americans

@LiverHook Placed Your nationalism makes you look stupid. Imperial system is obsolete and inferior. Period.
@LiverHook Placed “LITERALLY EVERYTHING WE DO has a tactical, military purpose before any other purpose” I'm an American and that is bullshit. Just as an example, growing so fat that you give yourself diabetes does not have a military purpose, unless it’s to make yourself unqualified for military service. You may want to look up the word “literally”.
“…the rest of the world will always be at least 5 steps behind America.” With the exception of how much money we waste on military spending, in what other way that has value are we five steps ahead of everyone else? Education? Manufacturing? Teen pregnancy? Mass shootings? Coronavirus fatalities? Distribution of wealth? Health care? Infant mortality rate? Infrastructure management? Agriculture? Public transportation? Government debt? Air and water quality? Drug abuse? Human rights? Unemployment rate? Per capita imprisonment? Personal freedoms? Scientific advancements? Number of government bailouts (using tax dollars) of businesses that are based off-shore so they don’t pay taxes?

"It has the mass of 40 billion suns. To understand that, take the mass of the sun. Now multiply that by 40 billion." Very helpful ^_^
That's a sensible analogy. It's just pretty difficult to compare the mass of things bigger than the Sun with anything on Earth because that involves multiples that are themselves hard to imagine for most people inc me.
@@marksimpson2321 you can try to compare things on earth, for example the burj khalif has about 60 billion times the mass of 2 cherries. But for me it doesnt really matter, for example imagine it would be 600 billion times, so 10 burj khalif against 2 cherries, doesnt make a difference.
Impossible to imagine it

"not even light" but what about love? I've yet to watch a black hole documentary say that not even love can escape a black hole.
That's almost the plot of Interstellar...
Or the power of friendship
But I have Family
It’s still not as powerful as the student council in anime.
Because that's fake. Gravity no matter of a paper clip or the largest black hole ever existed won't affect photons. Photons would always return back after they hit anything, but change their wavelengths according to the object. And again, anything black doesn't mean the light is absorbed. It means that it is something out of the spectrum that is used to view it. Humans averagely have a vision spectrum of 380-700 nanometres. So ever again you see anything black, it's just something wavelength shorter than 380 or longer than 700 and not any kinda fuss of absorbing.
My Physics teacher just used this in class, I never thought I’d see a real life lore video being used in School

Scientists: "Black holes are complicated"
Me: "agario"
Could that be the answer to the Big Bang? Black holes ever growing until the entire universe is swallowed by one ginormous black hole, which keeps increasing its pressure till it becomes so pressurised it explodes and the whole thing starts again!
Could be!
so you're saying there's another universe before this timeline? 🤯🤯🤯
@@foolishxhero perhaps, but my idea is the same universe, just arranged differently. The infinite space doesn’t change, only the bodies in it!
Essentially that's the theory of the "Big Crunch" every action has an equal and opposite reaction, so if the universe is always expanding so too must it collapse, given that we've observed black holes behavior of merging to form a larger one when they encounter one another, it's quite possible, now whether or not everything we know about black holes is true or not remains to be seen, until we can directly interact with one, and recieve input data back from the interaction, we won't know. So at this time, it's best if everything explained is taken with a grain of salt.

No 1 octillion, 566 septillion, 68 sextillion, 977 quintillion, 897 quadrillion, 877 trillion, 185 billion, 233 million, 126 thousand, 961.
Technically 1.6 octillion.
he just love it....
y sure you could ....
I remember a physics professor starting out with a simple equation that we all knew and expanding on it. By the time he was done we had the equation for turning the earth into a black hole on the board. It was beautiful. By the way Manhattan 3:43 is 20km long.
Ok, so I just did some calculations and I discovered that if we scale Destroyer of Worlds up to Earth density, the black hole’s volume would be 1.444 x 10^40 cm^3
For those who aren’t baffled: This is half the volume of the ENTIRE OBSERVABLE UNIVERSE!
Damnn!
I don't think you understand exponentials too well, or maybe it was a mistake, but the volume of the observable universe is 10^80 meters^3. 10^40 cm^3 = 10^34 meters^3. It isn't half. Its 1 10^46th the volume, so not even close. In fact, that's about the same difference in size as if you threw a grain of sand into the largest star ever discovered (Stephenson 2-18) which has a diameter of about 3 billion kilometers and compared their respective volumes to one another. And by the way Stephenson 2-18 has a volume of about 12 octillion cubic kilometers.

it's not a thing Kade Benshoof
BerzerkRageingGamer Thats easy for you to say..
BerzerkRageingGamer is is weird that I knew that?
Nope
From our reference frame, black holes take forever to form, but never fully collapse because it slows down by time dilation.
Ah yes, I love the second timestamp name.
Maybe you don't care but my dad has a corolla.
Then tell him to buy 1,566,068,977,897,877,185,233,126,960 so you can compete against other black holes.
IHateRNG Or the cheap alternative, shrink its size to almost nothing.
I finally bought some toothpaste

i'm so scared of a black hole now, i'm constantly looking over my shoulder...

The closest one we know of is at least a couple of thousand light years away. And 1 light year is 9.460.000.000.000km. So no worries! Next to that, space is expanding also! So it's getting bigger in between, it's expanding so quick. Far enough away, even light can't go quick enough toward us and will never reach us anymore because space is expanding to quick.
Still scary
Woah I had no idea
This is so interesting
And today we got the first picture of it
different black hole
Next time that you compare black holes to planets, please refer to Uranus.
Lmao this made my day! :'D
vforvolt lol
"Look at this black hole its 19 billion times bigger than Uranus" LOL :D
vforvolt "63 earths can fit inside Uranus" -LEMiNO
Ace Abe 64 if you relax ;)
Maybe using the Solar System as a comparable unit would have been useful for the last one. But the sun is over 98% of the mass in the solar system so it's almost the same thing. Maybe galaxies then, Milky Way. Even that is unimaginably huge.

Now this may sound weird but these videos are helping through some tough stuff rn
Aw, thats really sweet.
Are you a physics major?
Never mind I thought you were talking about learning physics, and realized you are talking about personal dilemma. This might sound cold, but get over your issues. Everyone complains, whines, etc. Everyone goes through shit, and you have to keep going.
@@alexv5581 Ever consider the fact that learning about things that are and forever will be older than us offers a sense of humility towards who you are and how much you matter. To some, its therapeutic, dick.

Black holes.. true monsters of nature able to destroy everything I ever knew. Subscribed 👍
"Hey we found a black hole ! What Should we name it?"
"Idk maybe just randomly smash keys on your keyboard?"
"Ok, S5 0014+81 will be the name."
NOT LOL
They name it in number order. Eventually the nuber goes to high and they have to add letters as sub levels, if it wasn't like that it would be something like "black hole #847463839377464710202993826575849930203983746473889393827701929288
i think its based on location in sectors in the galaxies. the letter and first number stand for some galaxy probably and the numbers r for a sector or solar system in the galaxy, it probably makes perfect sense for an astronomer
You don't even know how hard it is.
It's so fucking hard to flirt with my god damn name

4:44: It's called "Sagittarius A*" and is pronounced "Sagittarius A Star"
on english yes, on other languages no
I mean, what difference does having a different name have. I don't know of any other black hole or star thats named Sagittarius A.
@@enVIdGaming
Sagittarius A is a complex radio signal. It's composed of three things:
Sagittarius East (a supernova remnant), Sagittarius West (several gas clouds in a kind of spiral shape) and Sagittarius A* (pronounced "Sagittarius A Star" -- which is the supermassive black hole).
