This isn’t accurate. The actually fight would be 9 episodes long, being 70% flashbacks, 20% filler, and 10% actual fighting
and 100% memes
Yeah lol. Naruto has a great story that's just terribly written.

Bro, Vader got a kinder death than most of the heroes get on this show.
exactly
Obito's words are gonna stick with me for a long time
Except its literal cap their logic on alot of obitos stuff is just made up. He can't use the sixth paths thing by himself and the infinite tsukiyomi can't be instantly activated. And the understood vader his powers definitely work in other universes. And as anakin he's was able to bring down the physical embodiment of both the light and darkside of the force. And vader is even stronger vader wins this fight low diff. Plus they left out one of vaders strongest forms which is his Astral form. This whole fight is cap.
@@habijjj the infinite tsukiyomi isn’t why he won, that’s just for the animations. The animations don’t necessarily say how the fight will go, it’s just a visualization of the fight that shows off the cool abilities and stuff.
For example here they cite a major win condition for obito is to use kamui and trap vader in kamui dimension, that’s something that didn’t happen in the video because it’s not climatic and is a boring way to end, but if you ran this fight 1k times I bet at least 2 or 3 times out of ten Vader goes to stab obito and he just uses kamui. But obviously you can’t portray that so they just show something cool to watch and then give the real reasons after
Besides I thought it was really cool, both the initial genjutsu showing Padme and the last illusion, thematically it’s very appropriate and it’s almost sad in a way. But even if u disagree on that just know that cinematic =/= outcome
@@habijjj and can u source any of those other claims. I can just be like “no, obito is stronger” it doesn’t mean anything without evidence

Obito giving Vader an illusion of what Anakin most desperately wanted was heart-rending.
Until this battle, I never realized how similar Darth Vader and Obito are. Both of them lost limbs and were horribly maimed after a brutal battle, were manipulated into joining the dark side by an old man with white hair, and lost the loves of their lives, which caused them to abandon their old identities and literally and metaphorically dawned a mask and assumed new identities. Yet for all the atrocities they committed, they were ultimately redeemed and brought back to the light thanks to the actions of a blond-haired youth.

Or frieze and megatron
Ben 10 vs Green Lantern isn’t unbalanced, it could go either way.
@@idkibk7 It’s not the winner I’m worried about but the battle itself. If the battle is unsatisfying to watch then the win might as well have been a tie or a stomp… Ben 10 vs Green lantern is an example of how not to make a satisfying battle, Goku vs Superman (the third one) is the exact opposite.
Honestly, I think the truth seeking orbs are just a massive win button for this fight. The blade of a lightsaber is at least partially physical, as shown by the fact that it impacts against objects, holds up people who have been impaled, etc. There's no reason to think that they wouldn't destroy his lightsaber the first time he tried to deflect one. He'd probably be able to use the Force to deflect them temporarily, given that it's probably a close enough analog to Naruto's "Natural" Chakra, but it's a never ending threat he has no way to deal with permanently. And in the meantime, he has to deal with trying to still land a killing blow while not eating any of the OTHER things that can kill him. I just don't see it happening for him.
If we ascribe to the idea that the Lightsaber could count as Taijutsu it still wouldn't do well against the Truth Seeker Orbs. In Might Guy's fight with Madara, Minato and the others do everything they can to ensure that Guy hits Madara and does not make physical contact with the Truth Seeker orbs since they would destroy him
Truth seeking orbs are insanely op. The writers had to be there way to getting rid of the main character's control over them.

@@user-dd7hv2sx5b All of what you stated is basically the reason why you can't use most of Legends for Death Battle. It's blatantly contradictory to the main plot of the rest of the series.
Here's a question for you. Why would the Empire have ever created the Death Star? It was a massive expenditure of manpower, resources, and time to get them built. The construction of and usage of a planet destroying space station was a plot point in like half of the movies (Episodes 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, and Rogue One, possibly 9, I haven't seen it yet). Question being: Why would they ever do that if it were possible to destroy a planet using the Force, and the most powerful Force users were on the side of the Sith? @0RosannaH is lightsaber would reduce Gaara's sand to glass, and the force would allow him to control it to roughly the same level, maybe higher. While I do think these two chuckleheads underestimated Gaara BIG TIME (feel free to disagree), I'm not so sure he could beat Vader.
I don't even care that Vader lost nor know whether or not the fight is fully accurate, they made him such a terrifying badass in this fight that I simply cannot do anything but love it.

@@HOLDENPOPEoh yeah Vader should have won just based on him having uni scaling. Plus Vader basically hard counters everything Obito has. Genjutsu? Vader is immune to illusions, Kamui? Vader can open portals, any kind of projectiles? Vader can just stop it with the force.
Freaking amazing episode 10/10 for sure. However if I had to make one change it would be the ending. Now I don’t disagree with the outcome, nor the concept of the kill, but it could be tweaked slightly in my opinion.
The change starts after Vader gets trapped in the illusion. He drops Obito to the floor and Obito takes a moment to catch his breath and looks up at Vader seemingly satisfied that he was able to beat Vader. Then Vader starts thrashing around hinting at the fact that his two sides are fighting. On one side you have his Vader side, filled with hate trying to break free of the illusion and on the other you have the Anakin side fighting desperately to stay within the illusion not caring if it’s real or not. Cut back to Obito he sees that eventually Vader will break free, so, reluctantly he backs up and raises the double helix sword still saying his “You are liberated from hell,” line and he crushes Vader with it. We get on more cut back to Obitos face clearing sad that he had to kill Vader.
I feel this would make for a way more impactful ending but what are you gonna do?
Dude, that was SICK! I would definitely watch this crossover anime!
Darth Vader: All too easy I expected more.
Obito: *low chuckle*.... I wont disappoint.

I would like to point out that while the Force is unlimited, it can not be used infinitely. Using the Force is exhausting, which is why Form IV and V is known to require the user to beat the opponent quickly, and why Form II and III's strength is that they are more energy efficient.
Say what I will about Last Jedi, Luke dying from exhaustion makes sense in this context.
Damn I never knew that. Although it probably wouldn't matter in either this DB or Obiwan vs. Kakashi. In this DB both combatants can essentially fight on indefinetly and in the latter Kakashi would quickly run out of juice as he often does in Naruto
@@mortenjensen1692 Agreed, plus Obi-Wan uses the Form that uses minimal exertion while maintaining the ultimate defense (which is why he could match Anakin with his power attacks, despite Anakin dumping a lot of Force into his swipes and Anakin having access to much more Force), and at least in Naruto I remember Kakashi only being able to do 4 Chidori, and the Sharingan was a Chakra drain.

Question. Doesn't Vader show resistance to mind techniques due to the constant pain and torture he is going through? Which is what eventually turned him back to light? Cause the effect of the machine control stopped working?
Blame Tsukiomi being one of the most busted mind control techniques.
It has:
Given someone a full lifetime with the user (Itachi's love interst before killing her as part of the Uchiha massacure).
Tortured other sharingan users to the point of comas (in which one of the best ninja doctors in the world had to get them out of)
and for this variety of it used: put the entire world minus 5 people under it's effects with no way of breaking out from within.

The fact that Vader got an Infinite Tsukuyomi dream of Padmé at the end was just beautiful 😭.
So was "Obi-Two"
It also makes a lot of sense for Vader to lose that way, too, since the more hurt and angrier he gets, the stronger he gets. Ironically, Vader is quite literally weak to love, as is Obito, considering how both were unstoppable while they were wrathful and spiteful but succumbed to their doomed fates when they became inspired by the love that they once strived to protect in order to beat someone much greater. The dialogue is also nice foreshadowing because they're so similar character-wise that Obito would have the self-awareness to know that fueling his opponent's wrath would just make the fight harder, so he bestowed the gift of a beautiful illusion of love that he craves so badly as the finishing blow, to someone who also craves it just as badly.

Fun fact Vader was given free opportunity to craft his own suit but chose to keep it with most of its uncomfortable and painful flaws. He did this as a punishment to himself, but he did compensate for some of the weaknesses to an extent.... such as force lightning
Actually, no. the Emperor forbade him to ever do anything of the sort. He needed Vader to be weak and feeble, so he could be controlled. Changing his suit one bit would be a treasonous act for both Vader and whoever changed it.
No he was afraid he might die if he did it.
@@corjonbett Sort of. OP is right in that there was one timeline where Vader was given the opportunity to upgrade and chose not to. I forget if it was canon or Legends, though. It happened in one but not the other.

It doesn’t even matter. Vader would still give into temptation and he would still get owned….. unfortunately this is a thing. I even saw a comic on it. And he crazy desperate for Padme which is his downfall.
Yooo, through rewatching this fight a million and one times, I just realized this Death Battle may be the closest I'll ever get to seeing Darth Vader and Anakin as the same person.
It's like, I know they are, but you don't really think of Anakin being the one under the mask.
But rewatching this fight this time, I got this weird vibe when Vader has the one eye showing through the mask that it was Anakin underneath. Mostly cause of knowing the fight's ending but, sheesh. What a rush!
I really believe the illusion wouldn't work on Vader. Like when Obi broke out of the genjustsu. I think seeing Pádme would've made him relive her death and reignite his rage, similar to Guts in Berserk when one night he was forced to relive the memory of the eclipse and it only made him stronger. The Sith draw their strength from the emotions, commonly rage, I think it makes more sense that Vader would end up producing planet crushing level of forces at the minimum after that.
The difference is the type of genjutsu. Vader broke out of Obito's normal Genjutsu just like Obi Wan did, but Infinite Tsukuyomi is, as the name implies, the pinnacle of that kind of technique, trapping all life inside. Within it, even if you try to maintain your awareness that it's an illusion, it leads the events within to make you forget that and accept it completely. It can't be broken without ending the technique, as we see in the series. Characters will initially know what has happened but the illusion traps them within their ideal world to such a degree they have no choice but to go along with it. Even the normal resistances to illusions failed to affect their perceptions at all.
you can't break out of infinite tsukuyomi with willpower, you can only do it if you possess a rinnegan or sharingan
@@Fr00stee so what is special of a rinnegan or sharingan that enables you to break out of the illusion and is the force comparable.

If I remember correctly I heard Darth Vader had the options in legends to update his suit and make him even stronger, but he decided not to do so because he thought he deserved to be trapped in the crappy one. Also a scary detail is Sith just get stronger the more angry they get, like psychic hulks and Vader has gotten so pissed off he didn't even need the life support system for days or even sleep. Although when he calmed down he needed the life support again.
There was a scene in the comics where Vader fought Darth Maul. When Maul asked Vader what he hated so deeply that it gave him that much power, Vader's answer was chilling.

The thing that i loved the most in this fight is Vader's pure straight path slow aggression against Obito's ruthlessness and bag of tricks. Especially when Obito uses fire style on the sith just to get pulled directly into said flames, Vader crushes Obito's sturdy mask with just one hand, (which took a jin cloak rasengan to break) only to see the face of his long lost dead wife whom he blamed himself for regarding her death. He breaks the genjutsu to see obito smirking at him before attempting to pull Vader into the Kamui world. Genius scene by death battle
I agree death battle definitely did their homework lol
Obitos masks arent armor, theyre to hide his identity. they are probably the same material as anbu masks. the problem is - most people simply are not hitting obito. it didnt take a rasengan to break it, its just that a rasegan hit it. Kakashis kunai left a pretty deep gash in it. and konans paper bombs blew it in half.
My favourite part is Vader crushing a Bijuu Dama from the Juubi
@@mcgryko actually Obito's WA mask is pretty damn hard since it tank a headbutt from jinchuriki without a single scratch. Obito himself said that it made of spacial material exactly for the battle.
And to take a gash from the Kakashi's raikiri it's not an antifeat since Kakashi literally pierce a biju cloak with it couple chapters before. So no, white mask is definitely not made from same material as anbu
Then he rips out his eye. So awesome. I just wish he did t get killed by a dna statue
Interesting thing I noticed near the beginning of the fight: when Vader first impales Obito, his lightsaber clips through the ends of Obito's headband, which could be easily written off as a run of the mill animation error, but it's actually an indicator that Obito is using Kamui to phase through the attack. That's a nice touch.
I mean if obito couldn't phase through attacks I would have called bull, that was one of his most broken abilities and even in the show without those set circumstances established in naruto with kakashi, no one would have landed a hit on him.
only makes Minato basically instantly countering it all the more insane.
Small issue though. In one of the info boxes, Wiz and Boomstick mentioned that when he absorbed the ten-tails, he lost the ability to phase himself with Kamui (see 11:29). Since Death Battle is using him after he absorbed the ten-tails, then while he had all the powers granted from that fusion, he should have not been able to use powers lost.

Vader's suit doesn't hold him back, it's part of the reason why he's so strong. The suit hurts him and makes him even angrier than he would be if he had a perfectly comfortable one, and he had said this and chose to stick with this design because of it.

Although I agree Vader would have lost, I don't think he would have lost to the move he did here. Since not only does the force warn a user of danger ahead of time (and roughly how deadly it is) force users also train a lot in mind manipulating abilities. So not only should he have been able to snap out of any illusion, he doesn't even need to be able to see to tell that the attack was coming. Meaning he could have dodge or stopped it even without leaving the illusion. Honestly, after he figured out about his eyes having powers and crushing one earlier on, he would have just yoinked the other immediately as well. Then Tobi would have had to beat him without any Uchiha abilities.
The main thing with Infinite Tsukuyomi it actively makes you want to stay in the illusion more than anything else. Unless you are immune to temptation you are going to be trapped in the Infinite Tsukuyomi.
And the whole point of the prequel series is Anakin giving into temptation to the Dark Side. Effective turning the reason he became Darth Vader into the reason he can’t leave the illusion.

@@hisao_soulsborne732I do think in raw power Vader is superior to obito, but obito possesses some crazy hax like kamui phasing through attacks and his wide arsenal pushed him slightly over the edge.
@@hisao_soulsborne732 i came to the comments specificly to see this hate lol
Vader could not possibly be fooled by that... He would sense the end of a life and would never ever ever be fooled by some dude just because he can rearrange his atoms. Vader got done dirty
They way they also perfectly summarized both of these long ass shows/movies was perfect 😂
🌓🌓🌓 HALF MOON 🌓🌓🌓
I get it
Full moon 👿
IT’S TIME FOR A DEATH BATTLE!!!
You should do comic book vader next
@@GigaChad-jz2my They did.
An extra fun aspect to the way this fight was portrayed is that both Vader and Obi-Wan probably recognized and had the power to break out of the illusion. However, while Obi-Wan is too emotionally controlled due to his adherence to the jedi code for Kakashi to try to use anything except fear to get that sneak attack, Vader got everything he wanted and appears in the last second to lose connection to the dark side.
Yeah. And they even said that the anger the darkside gives you has saved jedi and sith on multiple occasions.
My issue is that they use Padme specifically. She is the essentially the embodiment of Vader's greatest failure and the main reason his hatred is so great. Palpatine tells Vader that through her death, she gave him the gift of pain and pain does fuel the Dark Side. Last time Vader had a illusion of Padme in front of him, he force choked her again and then when a fake Anakin appeared to attempt to avenge her, he cut him down the same way Obi-Wan had done so to him. What they should have done is used Luke who represents what could be and not what he had lost
Just saying vader has gone through stuff like this multiple times and broke through all of it
It makes sense, but now that I’m thinking about it didn’t Yoda do something similar in one of the comics and Vader ended up breaking from it and killing him?
@@kuribohbrother I don’t think Vader ACTUALLY killed Yoda proper but maybe a illusion of him. What I can say is that in the Vader series when he goes to bleed his Kyber crystal, the Force makes a active attempt to cause Vader to return to the Light, showing him visions of him slaying Palpatine and then finding Obi-Wan and begging forgiveness which Obi-Wan appears to do. Vader breaks the illusion, stating “No, this is all there is” as he pours in his anger, pain, hatred and fear into the Kyber crystal and causing it to bleed
"Find peace in the next life"
That one hits hard...
This episode had Magneto vs Tetsuo vibes, but instead of passing from annoyed to sympathetic was sympathetic from the start
