If you watched Rebels you'll know this but the "then you will die" is actually a reference to Rebels when he fights Ahsoka, and it shows that he's given up on saving himself, and will not allow anyone to set him free from the chains he's bound himself in. Until Luke comes along.
"that he's given up on saving himself" So agree, I have my chains too, backing out of my life of never ending drug use, to help myself, its time for my good choices and keep them going and removing triggers moving forward..."thats how winning is done" , friends, girls. I'm supposed to be dead. I gave up, the system didn't, I owe myself to move out of existence, I hate myself.
I feel so bad for Anakin/Darth Vader. He lost…everything. He lost his mother, his mentor, his love…He didn’t deserve the cruel life he was forced to live.
Except darth sidious he born in wealthy aristocratic family he was always good at manipulating others he joined the dark side because simply he wanted to he killed his master in his sleep etc forgot to mention he also killed his whole family
Vader was not absolving Kenobi of guilt or blame here. He was fully embracing his own actions, owning his fall from grace as if it was some kind of achievement - and if a curse then one of his own making. He was not trying to reassure Obi-Wan. If anything, make Kenobi feel more helpless. “There’s literally nothing you could have done to stop me.”
I know lot's of people didn't like the obi wan tv show but moments like this rank it pretty high in my book just the smile you can see Anakin doing and the look of distraught on obi wans face and the acting 👌
This scene was so sad, as I was watching it, i got flash backs from Phantom Menace to Revenge of the Sith, and I cried, it wasn't just a master- apprentice relationship, nor was it good vs evil, it was brother vs brother...
I always wonder how anakin went from one of the most powerful and skilled jedi, to being deceived by the sith by his worries of losing padme, to having burns by his master. and then suffering by a suit to know you killed you wife.. 💔 🥀
Did you guys ever realize that the “Then you will die!” Line was actually said to ashoka when they started dueling in rebels and both had a standoff too
I've read all the books, all the comics, and I've seen all the movies and shows, Anakins story is precious, his transformation from what he once was to what he became is the saddest transformation in history, it's unnaturally sad.
Feel like when he says "I did" he's admitting that his choices had a part to play in him becoming Vader and that he doesn't feel he deserves redemption. Just like we see in return of the jedi when he tells Luke that it's too late for him.
no, bro, that poor in the revenge of the Sith whenever Obi-Wan and Anakin fight that's just a hard Reagan moment both of them like Obi-Wan trained Anakin just for Anakin to be in the darkness
Part of me wonders when obiwan looked at Anakins face he wanted to tell him how his kids were doing, how they are safe and happy, how padme would’ve loved to live a life with him and their children. But all that remained was Vader and he couldn’t say any of it bc all that remained was a broken man that wasn’t Anakin Skywalker.

It’s so cool how they Mix Anakins voice with Darth Vaders
They also did this in Rebels in 2016

"Anakin's gone... I'm what remains" has to be the most heartbreaking line in Star Wars history. It gets me everytime. 🥺
Ditto to “I am what you made me”…cuts right down to the core!
And the feeling in his voice sounds are so mean
It’s incredible how it goes from Hayden saying anakin is gone to James saying I am all that remains. Purely terrific film making
The most heartbreaking line must be "You were my brother Anakin. I loved you".

Vader: *chases Obi-wan to the very end of the universe*
Also Vader: “Have you come to destroy me?”
Kenobi, its a show
i wish the "i did" was with the Vader voice
