@@hakimdaaloul9886 Slave trade occurs in the more remote and less developed parts of the Republic so it wouldn't be any use banning it since the Republic doesn't really have any real means to effectively enforce the ban in those parts. So not only would a ban barely change a thing but it also would deny the Republic of the revenue it collects through the trade. I mean, even the Empire which was far more militarized than the Republic barely managed to maintain control over its remote sectors, the small forces deployed there were only to ensure the planets recognized the Empire's suzerainty otherwise they were allowed to self rule, the galaxy is just that vast and it's near impossible to maintain strict control throughout all the systems.

I don’t think anyone is predestined to fall. Anakin’s decisions were ultimately his own, but he was manipulated by Palpatine and the Jedi certainly didn’t help. He had a lot of emotions and hadn’t been raised in the temple so he wasn’t used to just ignoring them (not to mention all that childhood trauma they just ignore) and while he was fiercely loyal to people (rather than ideals) and felt both joy and anger passionately, the Jedi constantly told him that acknowledging these emotions (which are what makes someone human) was a “path to the dark side.” Which is stupid. People get angry, and if you make someone bottle up all of their emotions all the time, that’s how you end up with an outburst like in AOTC where his mom dies and he just massacres a full on village. Not that that was okay, but if he had been taught how to actually handle strong emotions in a healthy way rather than just trying not to feel them (which was never going to work) I think he would have been able to better recognize Palpatine’s manipulation. Anakin never really belonged in the Jedi Order, and Palpatine used this to push him further towards the dark side. I I-Wan, though he genuinely loved Anakin, never really showed it in an attempt to not acknoledge his attatchments. He doesn’t tell Anakin he loved him until, well, you know. Too late. Because he couldn’t turn to the Jedi for help with his visions of Padmé’s death because a) he wasn’t supposed to be married in the first place and b) they would never understand (or at least, they’d pretend not to to follow to Jedi code). So that meant Anakin had no one to turn to or talk to while that was happening……except Palpatine. Palpatine used Anakin’s circumstances to his own benefit to turn Anakin to the dark side, and ultimately Anakin could not resist. Which is not to say that it isn’t his fault, since he’s the one who, you know, did it, but there were a very large number of factors involved in his descent into the dark side and I do not believe he was always predestined to be a villain. Villains aren’t born, they’re made.

I don't think you know what I was talking about theres a comic that shows what a full powered anakin could have been. Darth Vader was weak and crippled. As a full powered anakin that won on mustafar he would have doubled palpatines power quickly, had red lightning, black pertruding wrist lightsabers, and in his vision of this through a dark side portal made by darth momin, he sees himself defeating the entire jedi order in a 1v20ish, and then disintigrates palpatine. The point of the vision is to show that no matter how powerful he became, he still lost padme and coulnt bring her back. I come back to this every once in awhile just to remind myself what Anakin could’ve been.
He had so much hate, and it stemmed from his inability to protect what he loved, as many know.
I honestly think he was just scared. So scared of losing everything he loved that he lost himself trying to be strong enough to defend them.
In the end he was broken, disassembled even. Not just his body but his entire being.
If he hadn’t became Vader then, he would’ve ended himself.
In the end, that hate, or more accurately Vader, was all that was left.
The longer you pay attention to the entire story, the more you realize that he was indeed the chosen one.
He DID end up bringing balance to the force, through his love for his son.
Unfortunately it took him becoming one of the coldest and most dangerous beings in their universe to do so.

Anakin may have failed the galaxy, but the Jedi failed Anakin.
They knew his power at an older age, they knew the potential to be great Jedi was in him, but they failed him.
All of his dark deeds are his, yes but if the Jedi handled him better there’s a strong possibility that he could have turned out fine.
Yes there was a war that put the Jedi in a bad spot, but the order was already harmful in many of their practices of non attachment.
Also bear in mind, Anakin was a child when they took him. Sure it was something he wanted, but he was a child, and they aren’t necessarily the best at making these decisions. Hell, they separated the boy from his mother for 10 Years, and the last time he sees her is as he dies from suffering.
Ultimately, more of the blame obviously goes to Palpatine, because without him nothing in the movies happen. But the Jedi council failed Anakin on so many levels.
-They put him into a war as a very young adult, giving him a very high ranking position
-He’s tasked with training a youngling which will make him extra protective as a brotherly role.
-He watches people die, close to him or otherwise
-When Obi Wan goes on his whole bounty hunter escapade, they deliberately lie to keep him in the dark for his reaction.
-The council turns on his, basically surrogate sister, and she leaves
Yes there is agency in Anakins actions. This video show his dark deeds that he made. But the Jedi council simultaneously treated him as a regular student who lived a typical Jedi life as well as a seasoned military general, when in reality he never truly was either.

Anakin was made so because he had so many enablers around him (Yoda, Obi-Wan, Padre, Ashoka) that never really called him out on his dark side actions because they either seemed justified or bearded positive results. This became the food Palpatine needed to turn him as Anakin started to feel his instincts were superior to everyone else's and he started thinking he was beyond reproach. So when he started getting these self fulfilling future visions, he looked to people who he felt had superior judgment abilities, like himself, which was Sidious and Yoda. He picked the most convenient of the two without a second opinion (he has inner conflict but really doesn't self analyze and question himself).
Anakin's strange rationalization complex is most evident with the Clovis fight. He starts out of pure jealousy and then tries selling it to himself and Padme as Clovis being a traitor and evil as most narcissists do when doing evil themselves. Anakin was the Phantom Menace.

What's great about Anakin's story is he didn't easily become written as this shining role model of heroism
and the knight in shinning armour who is always being intimidated by the bad guys and does
no wrong and is the voice of reason. He doesn't give a shit, he'll commit war crimes if it meant
victory and his methods are basic but brutally effective, nobody is able to out play him cause they
can't predict him, they think cause he's a Jedi that his morals wouldn't allow him to do reckless
and non peaceful actions but he dosen't care about the Jedi way, he wants what is best for his
family and friends and if anyone hurts him, he'll cut, slash, murder and scare his way through them.
He began being this naïve and under skilled person but soon he becomes stronger, smarter, angrier, more
dangerous and with more kills under his name, to the point where he killed Dooku and eventually helped
destroy the republic, the separatists and the Jedi order. to reign terror over the galaxy for over a decade in
a government that allows his methods, letting Vader thrive and soon be feared throughout all the worlds.
I believe that in the clone wars, the most dangerous person was always Anakin, he was always a threat, not
to the separatists, not to Dooku and general grievous but to the republic, to obi wan and to padme, for whom
died after giving birth to his children. All of this was planned by palpatine, he trained Dooku as his apprentice but
when Anakin came along he realised Dooku could now only be good for is a sacrificial pig bred for slaughter. Dooku
and the clone wars was nothing more but the sith lord's way of testing Anakin's strength and seeing if he was worthy...
which, he proved to be so.

I do love how Dave F made it where when the Son turned Anakin to the dark side, he didn't hate Obi Wan or maybe even the Jedi. Sure, he was disgusted by their apathy and their lack of action, but his hatred was mostly focused on the potential future as well as the present suffering caused by everyone involved or even not involved.
It really does help highlight how the Dark Side isn't inherently evil, but can make you do evil things if not unchecked. Even The Son loved his sister as much as he hated The Father, and was genuinely regretful when he accidentally Aerithed her.

Anger and violence tend to be self justifying. It is frighteningly easy to fall. Once you start with rational, reasonable justifications for wrong actions it gets easier to bend your morals a bit more next time. Until your definition of reasonable no longer matches what is right and good. In the real world, this is how evil people usually come to be.

I heard a prequel fan complain about the prequels because Anakin was "too whiny and didn't act like how a young Vader would." I think it's a a bit of a stupid complaint though because you can't just expect someone to be a cruel, calm, and collected person who's a master of focusing their anger their entire life(especially not in his younger years in the prequels).

Rather than teaching Anakin how to understand and control his emotions, the Jedi really only taught him to ignore them. There is a sharp distinction between righteous anger born from the urge to right a wrong, and hateful anger which seeks only to destroy and subjugate. Whenever Anakin couldn't conform to the strict dogma of feeling no anger, he became ostracized. "I'm not the Jedi I should be." The Jedi told him that he was broken, and they pushed him away.

Tbh the prequels Anakin's turn to the dark side seemed a bit abrupt. Like it had to happen bc episode IV exists but the Clone Wars series omg is perfection. Anakin is a prodigy who excelled in everything he wished to excel in, having control in every aspect in his life. He is used to dedicating everything he has in accomplishing his goals because he knows that he will succeed. And not having that defeat to teach him to be more emotionally intelligent (which palpatine made sure of) you can see that he is a prideful man manipulated by the true villain of Star Wars only to see that he can let go of his hate and admit he was wrong when his son reminds Anakin of his younger self. The Clone Wars series and the original trilogy fit so well it makes me wanna cry

Yes, but that was Anakin's decision to do... Yoda could've stopped many things if he wanted, but he appreciate the free will above all. He wanted for every being to do decisions on their own. If you force your decisions to the others, you are not a Jedi, you are a Sith(at least from Yoda's point of view).
But i think that when you just watch something terrible happens to the people that can't deffend themselves, you are as bad, as the person who do it. Also the explanation, why Yoda didn't interfere could be that he thought that was just an illusion.
