Joints with inside clips: install all the clips in your driveshaft

  • The GM/Chevy 3R and the Dodge 7260 and 7290 have inside clip retainers and you need to install all the clips properly if you don't want the shaft falling out.

      This was not an instructional video on how to install the joint. It was just a psa that you should install the clips into the groove on the part that goes into the rear pinion yoke and I explained why. I have had many customers install their own joints and then complain about a vibration because they failed to install all the clips. If someone does not know how to change their own universal joints then I can't recommend watching a youtube video to do it themselves. They should probably take it to a local driveshaft shop. It can be very easy to ruin your whole driveshaft during what could have been a simple fix changing the joint and then the individual ends up spending a lot more money than they thought they were saving.
