I hope they do a plasma series of the clean ecto 1 from the original film, I wouldn't mind a Ghostbusters 2 one aswell.
coming to this 2 years later watching this because of todays reveals. New 1984 ecto one and 1:18 scale figures to go along with it!

I feel this is a strange product...
On one hand, the plastic body, weird hinges, breakaway door and unpainted details (molded in proton pack, clean light bar) make it feel like a toy. In fact it’s the same price as Playmobil’s Ecto-1 and 1A.
On the other hand, the sculpt, exterior paint (the cracked logo is impressive) official license and standard 1/18 scale for model cars make it feel like a display piece. From afar at least.
I think they didn’t want to go with 1/12 scale like the figures due to size. Lego’s Aftermath Ecto-1 is a near perfect fit for 1/12 (I managed to sit SH Figuarts Tony Stark at the wheel) and it’s a beast. It will absolutely not fit in any display space I have except a bookshelf.
Hasbro would have needed to charge a lot more than 60€ for something like this, which would probably interest only a niche of die hard Ghostbusters fans in the end.
I completely understand your disappointment. But I think it was practically inevitable due to industrial toy constraints. Hasbro simply aren’t Hot Toys.
It really bothers me that the plasma series ecto1 isn't scaled for the plasma series figures

It's because the car is what the focus point is on..wasn't meant to have figurines to go inside
I use my Stranger Things Mike figure for the correct scale. Works well, though the figure isn't as detailed, but it is still Finn Wolfhard.
I can not wait for ghostbusters afterlife now I have to wait for it come out on November.

@Rob Cook Playmobil isn't 10 Times better in regards to the interior this one has a fairly detailed rear section with the computers etc Playmobil doesn't it's only sections to put Proton packs and figures etc
Yes, but we don't have any figures for the Hasbro one. At the moment, the Playmobil one is the total package.
If I showed this to anybody they would think that it was buried in dirt for a couple of weeks

I'll never buy. Hasbro has been dropping the ball on the Ghostbusters stuff. First with the release of the wand. And then my wand broke with zero cause and they never got back to me about it. Then they can't even scale the ECTO-1 correctly. Terrible.

Wonder how the “new vintage” movie likeness figures fit with this Ecto-1?? Even though those figures have their own Ecto-1 that seems like a reimagining or Afterlife version of the vintage Ecto vehicle. Glad it doesn’t have that grappling hook. Looks like it would fit a proton pack rack in back perfectly. Can’t wait to see the custom jobs people make with the new new old Ecto-1!!

Really disappointed it doesn’t fit the figures which is the only reason I passed on it.
Pretty sure the figures are meant to go in another version they released that's a bit boxier and toy looking like the kenner version

I got the car and I love it
I also really like the look of this Ecto-1 car, it's quite amazing looking and well done, but not to scale with the figures that came out a few months ago? That just doesn't cut it for collectors, you want your figures to go inside the car in a display, the scale is all wrong...

Apparently, theres gonna be a 3.75” scale figure series that goes with this ecto-1. My guess is that hasbro is making the bigger 6” figures for collectors and the smaller scale figures for kids. Personally im not gonna get any of the smaller scale figures but continue collecting the 6 inch figures
Then they shouldn't call it plasma series imo. Come up with a new name
I agree that it should not be part of the Plasma series. Seems like false advertising to me. I am not buying a 3.75 scale Ecto-1 until I see what the figures for it are like.

Doing it right"? The Playmobil Ecto-1 was better than this; it had electronic lights/sounds, & it was cheaper, & it came with figures.
What is the point of making a car for Ghostbusters that is not in scale with the action figures? Kenner was able to accomplish this 34 years ago.
Shame it's not to scale. But who knows maybe it's not meant not scale to the og busters but the new busters?🤔
I know everyone has an opinion, but I personally don’t really mind scale, I used to but then transformers came along and I threw scale out the window, *my opinion don’t yell at me.*
Try the playmobil figures
They are too small. This car is scaled for 4 inch figures, Playmobil are only 3 inches.

Yeah, it is basically useless. If they ever make decent 3.75-4 inch figures for it, I may change my mind. The lack of lights and sounds is unforgivable at that price.
