It's a small business, dude. The government doesn't give a F that fast. There was literally a lady who made a good amount of money before the sending some garbage pink sauce over the mail which basically had random crap like mayo that expired or exploded in the container from the heat by the time it reached customers. The FDA only bothered when she went viral.
For all the good reasons, even today they are sliding carcinogens components knowingly because it's more profitable.

The scene when he sells his pickles is do offensive to Jewish people. Of course, what can Jew do, thrifty selling something. I remeber when I saw a picture od a Jew counting gold, which suposedly should bring good luck, some Jews found it offensive. And here we are in America, what can Jew do - only selling. Shame on you!!!

I get there’s stereotypes, but this movie didn’t mean it in a negative way. Them being jews doesn’t correlate with doing business. He needed money to save his plot so he decided to do something that he knows how to do which is to pickle really good pickles and sell it for money. It’s a very noble thing to do to earn your own money. There’s nothing negative about that.
There were anti-semite depictions of jewish people in history, but not in this movie. His scandalous thoughts are just what he was subjected to in his time.
