- Explaining and testing Tello mod using TWO Xiami Repeaters for getting a stronger video controller link and Increasing flight Tello distance
Most of us use a Xiaomi Repeater in ground for improving Tello performance, Have you ever wonder what would happen by using a couple of Xiaomi repeaters ?
First Xiaomi Repeater stays on the ground, close to smartphone, second Xiaomi Repeater its onBoard atached flying Tello.
Power on Tello and using free Android MI app connect your onboard Xiaomi repeater to Tello. It will be shown into your smartphone available Wifi screen as TELLO_plus. Power on ground Xiaomi repeater and connect it to Xiaomi onBoard. It will be shown as TELLO_plus_plus, that's the network you should connect for flight.

Awesome idea dude... Its impressive. As this repeater on tello consumes less power, y don't we use a additional battery with low discharge rating... So the weight of battery will be less and it just affects the real-time flight of tello slightly higher then the actual...

Thanks for your video's. I bought 2 repeaters. What I understand: The chain is Mobile Phone - Repeater 1- Repeater 2- Tello.... and backwards. But how do I connect those parts with the Xiaomi app?

Why is your tello so wind-friendly? mine spins uncontrollably on same wind conditions with only 20meter altitude.(i based on how the branches sway in your video.)

Added repeater drains Tello battery. Expect about 25% flying time reduction
Qué pasa si ínstalas una pequeña batería de 100mah para no reducir el tiempo de vuelo del Tello?
Buena idea, pero creo que la batería aumentaría el peso, lo que a su vez reduciría el tiempo de vuelo ¿ no ?
@@r.3424 Y si le quitas la tapa y tratas de integrar todo (circuitos interiores del tello, repetidor wifi y la pequeña batería) e imprimes una tapa "más ancha" que abarque todo (ahorras el peso del acople lego) y ganas apariencia

I'm flying using TelloFPV app you can find here: play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.volatello.tellofpv There is one In-App purchase available: vGPS
that fuses the onboard VPS with the phone's GPS. This allows the app to show the approximate flight track in google earth, and the approximate last known position in google maps.

I did the same configuration but could not reach over 120 meters in an urban square environment. Mine flies only 120 meters with stable video quality. Any ideas ?
2.4Ghz is a very crowdy radio band. Try to fly into a less congested area. You will be surprised range you can get at countryside. Remember setting your phone into airplane mode (only wifi) and turning off all of your wearable bluetooth devices.

Soldering + me is bad idea, already wasted 1 repeater..
Soldering is the best way for saving weight, much better than using connectors & adapters. If you have no experience, try to practice welding over an old electronic board. Good luck.
@@r.3424 hi sir, i try use totolink ex100 onboard wich it has 4 dbi antenna to netis router 3x5dbi, it's awesome tho.. can fly very2 far away..
But i don't recommended tello+repeater onboard with antenna.. it will messed up with winds, the antenna makes drone randomly move & looks funny.. mine even funnier when stuck on tree & repeater board split in two..
+1 more repeater wasted, i feel like an idiot, even worst when my cat keep staring at me after..
I reached 500m wiht just one wifi repeater, you just stressed the motors and reduced the flight time.useless project

Thanks for your comment. Please, watch my videos, like you, I got more than 700 meters on a single repeater when flying rural, but using onboard repeater mod you can gain range and signal image on WIFI congested areas. Best regards.
