Thank you Tom for your honest review accessment on the tello drone. I was looking at this for my friend and his son which I have now bought for them and I'm sure they will have fun at the entry level price. It does look good for beginners and can be used indoors too has well in the garden and outdoors. It's lightweight to succeed all the expections flying within the guidance range of larger drones 😊👍

Hey Tom, just letting you know the height it can fly to is actually 30 metres not 10, accomplished it today in a fair bit of wind too. Will try again in calm conditions with my wi-fi extender on to see if it will exceed that height. Nice review

I just bought the iron man edition for my 6 year old son for Christmas 🎄. I think this will be more than enough for him. He loves to watch me with my Mavic pro and ,my Traxxas Aton. I wanted something that was easy to use but still a good drone and nothing too much like one of the cheap bottom line type toy drones if that makes sense. I felt like this was the best compromise.

I've been watching tello reviews and feeling a bit iffy about it's quality but it was only when I saw the photos did I know that it wasn't meant to compare to budget cinematic drones. It's a selfie drone meant for beginners and actual hobbyists!

Great video. Always useful. The indoor shots needed some aidio work though. Hard to hear. Sine dampeners or defusers would have helped

That's the main flaw in the Tello Yuneec Breeze is the best cheap camera drone option 12 mp camera records internally costs around $130
If you land it in the water at least your videos are saved then, i never had problems with the way it saves files

To me if your thinking about getting into drones this is a great starter. For the money it’s good (yeah not the best) but it does do a lot for the money. Camera is great on it. It’s not very good in winds but on a normal days it’s fine. Also you can code on it and change stuff. At the end of the day you can get this for £100 or less and if you think it is a 5mins thing. Then you not lost a lot of money and you can get half of it back. So yeah give it ago and you will enjoy it.

The tello is so cool ,it's a fantastic drone and you won't be sorry .
Well worth the money .
Some tips
Make sure you calibrate the tello , with the easy to do guide , other wise the tello may veer off and not stay in one place .
Also tello loves light so make sure you do not , fly in dark conditions .the tello hovers in one place which makes it so easy to learn how to fly it you don't have to keep adjusting and calibrating .
Tello is fantastic , buy , and enjoy .

he said 10.000 mAh should do fine. I use a power bank of the same capacity for my phone (almost 1 year) and have never had any problems with it.

The video quality is honestly okay. The picture quality however is pretty good! Which is nice considering I have a nice view where I live which will be even better after taking some pictures with this drone! Cant wait
Hello Tom. You said that the image can get a little choppy since it´s based in the quality of the wi-fi signal. Can we ensure that it wont sofer as much if we use a wi-fi range extender like the one you suggested?

Question: Now that you have the power bank and extender connected any suggestions for how you hold it all...you've got your controller which takes up both hands...thinking maybe you found a clever way to attach it to your controller? Or maybe you put it on your hat? :-) Let me know.

FYI...If you read the reviews for the Xiaomi Extender on Amazon you'll see that several people noted that when they tried to fly the Tello with the Extender the Tello immediately acted "crazy" and then just flew away (maybe to China) and they lost it...even though they had many flights under their belt. There were at least two reviews that described the same issue.
So the alternative drone you mention in the video is the spark?
I bought mine for 69 euros but it was on sale from 99 euro to 69 watched your video in the store and i was sold 😄 thank you for your good review😄✌
Great video, but I have a question. I'm moving from Sweden to NYC this summer and wonder what the regulations are when filming with this drone? I know that you don't have to get a license because of its weight, but can I fly it wherever I want (except airports)?

Thanks - I almost bought the Tello, but I wanted higher def video and have opted for the Hover Passport (got a deal on a near-new model).
The bounce feature can be used to film you or your children bouncing on a trampoline, I saw this on 51 Drones, he worked it out

Coreless brushed motors are in fact the most efficient on micro quads.. brushless are much heavier and suck more power that's why brushed whoops have almost twice the flight time as their brushless counterparts

I picked up my Mavic today, and Tello tomorrow. Someone just said don't buy a drone you can't afford to crash. Well, it's not that I can't afford to replace it but brand new, it wouldn't really thrill me so I figured it might be best to buy a cheap drone as well, looked into it and one review sold me it the Tello there and then. But I also figured you could probably use a Tello for really close to the ground shots, interior shots - I mean, the Mavics not designed for everything. It's a bit of an F1 or Indy car, designed for the track, or the sky, not the streets and dirt tracks so I could see it coming in handy, and if I crash it, we'll, it looks like it'll escape unscathed and if I lost it in a river, well, at $99 or £ in my case, its not a big deal. Looking, I see you live in Germany so I should be able to buy stuff without customs demanding 20% sales tax and opening parcels losing stuff so will look into it because I'm willing to help those who help me for free on CZcams. I love your content.
