- Wario loves coins don't he? So much in fact he's gonna travel halfway across the world to get three measly bags of coins back. This guy must really love coins, more than life itself. Is Wario ok? Is he lonely? Does he need a friend? Perhaps his never ending desire for coins is simply to hide the fact he's deeply unhappy deep down. What's the point in being rich if you spend all your time alone in a giant empty castle? But perhaps that is what makes him happy. Perhaps that is why he will chase down the stolen money to the ends of the earth.
But what happens when he gets the coins back? Will he ever spend them, does he even have an income to replace them? Perhaps it's more about the principle of stealing from Wario rather than the coins themselves. You almost feel bad for the guy. Wario was clearly not wealthy prior, that's why he stole Mario's Castle in Mario Land 2. He wanted to feel like he's rich but without putting in the work. So then he wishes for a castle and now he can pretend to be rich. Perhaps he suffers from imposter syndrome. Without the money he's nothing. His identity revolves around people thinking he's rich so he HAS to get his money back. One thing for sure is, I don't think the stolen bags of money will bring Wario happiness in the long run. But till then....let's check out Wario Land 2.

I love how the old Wario game boy games didn’t degrade themselves by having him rely on farting as an attack. Wario had his special hats in the first game and got his special abilities from his enemies in this one! And he just used his raw strength and brute force to get through in both.
Also its too bad that this wasn’t Wario’s normal color palette. Yellow and black suits him much better than purple overalls and green shoes.
Tbh I was never a fan of Nintendo focusing on farts and stuff. Seemed to become a thing more around Smash Brawl, even more so than Wario Ware. Wario was a bit of a bad ass in the Land series, now he’s a bit of a loser

@@TheLonelyGoomba If I'm being honest, I imagine Wario behaving more like you, Goomba. The one-off fart joke is okay, but Nintendo shouldn't make his disgusting traits his full character. I see him as a guy who keeps to himself, has a crass sense of humor, keeps his eyes peeled for anything that would benefit him in the end, isn't afraid to go the extra mile, hardly ever says no to an adventure, and is a chill sort of guy as long as you don't wrong him.
I think Wario Ware is where the potty humor started really.
Nah, I’m a fan of Wario’s yellow clothes. It’s a complimentary color to Mario’s red and the opposite color to Waluigi’s purple, just like Luigi’s green is the opposite to Mario’s red

Play the Original Warioware for the GBA and get a score of 75 in the final Wario stage. U can see him having sweet dreams about Mona, so there is that too.

Off-topic, but I love the general “vibe” of your videos from the last couple years. The older ones are still a blast, but more recent vids feel like a pretty chill hangout with that one guy who loves to riff on stuff, and I kinda dig that 👍

I don't mind my old videos but I'd just rip into the game for the sake of ripping into it in an attempt to be funny. Which was fine but did get a bit tiring. So now I just share my actual thought's whilst still trying to keep it funny and in-character.

Wario Land 2 is the game that made me into the Wario fanboy I am today. It was just so *unique* for the time, and really felt more like a puzzle adventure game than a Mario obstacle platformer. Really fleshed out Wario and gave him a personality.
And I was also sold because the path that is just "don't press anything and Wario sleeps through everything" is hilarious
Despite not have finished it, Wario Land 2 is my favorite Game Boy game.
I'm reviewing Wario Land 3 don't worry now.
This, along with the review of the first game and WarioWare makes me think Goombas going to go on a Wario Addiction.

Sheesh I forgot how unique and open Wario land 2 was. The alternative paths and unique endings make this pretty awesome to begin with.
And ya ever noticed how Wario Land 2 feels like a Shantae game? Maybe I'm just dumb I feel like there's a lot of similarities.
Also For some reason I kinda wish they took some notes from this game when making New super Mario bros 2. Would be nice to have an incentive to gather coins meanwhile Wario already had that.
I didn't expect this game to have an Unknown Body equivalent of a final level!
And I'm sure only the people who've grown up with Terminal Velocity on PC will get that reference. Or at least they will if they play the remaster coming later this week.

I’m gonna be honest, Lonely; I think CZcams subtitles have some sort of beef with ya. Seriously man, watch any of your videos with subtitles (especially the older ones) and you’ll see.
Yeah probably. But tbh it probably helps keep me monetized lol. If I ever submitted correct subtitles it'll just pick up the swear words in the video to screw me over.

This video has convinced me to check out Wario Land 2 sometime. I'm not sure when I'll get to it with my backlog of games I want to play or replay, but this game looks really cool. It's weird I haven't played more Wario Land games cuz I love Wario. Of course, I've not really been much of a handheld gamer, so that explains it (I guess), but I need more Wario in my life.
If you have a Switch they'll probably add them all to that eventually

This was my first Wario game, I first played it on an online emulator before buying it on the 3DS eshop and I loved how Wario couldn't die since I thought it'd be easy but now, I appreciate it since they still managed to give a good challenge even with Wario being invincible.

My favorite of the classic Wario Land games. Wario Land 3, it's a bit hard to figure out where to go, sometimes. Wario Land 4 encourages you to take damage to undergo transformations, while simultaneously _discouraging_ you from taking damage because you're no longer invincible. And Wario Land 1 is fine. A good Mario Land alternative.
I'm pretty sure that the transformations in Wario Land 4 don't damage you. You only take damage from attacks whose primary function is to damage and stun you, not from things like getting set on fire or turned into a spring.
Correct. But unless you're familiar with the game, you don't know which enemies are safe to get hit by. So you're needlessly taking damage from enemies because they may or may not have caused a transformation.

Wario land 2 is my personal favorite of the series. I like how the main mechanic is doing something to wario and trying to figure out how to utilize said forms.
The original Wario Land 2 video you did was the first video I saw from you and what got me into retro games in the first place so this is a huge blast of nostalgia for me.
Really fun that you revisited this one, your old review actually convinced me to pick this game up from the virtual console on the 3ds (and was also how I found your channel). Was great to see you go through the whole game, it really is one of the best games ever.

I remember purchasing Wario Land 2 on the 3DS Eshop because the trailer was one of the funniest things I've ever seen. It was one of the few games I had downloaded on it so whenever I couldn't play anything else, I'd try to get past a level or two. I NEVER knew that there were multiple paths in this game. That blows my mind!
8:07 I can concur with LG with saying that a lot of Train Levels in games rock. Like Slash Beast's Stage in Megaman X4,Chapter 6 in Paper Mario TTYD, and the Train Mission in GTA San Andreas.

I was trying to watch all your previous videos before I looked at this one, but the fact that you uploaded the video of the next game in the series changed my plans a bit. As a result, I'm trying to watch the other Wario Land videos to get me caught up.
It really is amazing how much of a difference in time would change not only our attitude, but also your commentary! In fact, you even examined the rest of the game! With that said, you still preserved the charm of this channel, which is very good!

Nice! As a kid Wario Land 2 always gave me trouble, I was too dumb to figure out anything and I had the worst aim for the rabbit basketball game. Great review as always covering the game and extras from start to finish. Will be looking forward to your Wario Land 4 review, since its my favorite of the series and I replayed it way too much over the years.

This was basically the first youtube chanal with a theme and series i ever watched wayback in 2014 . It also introduced me to a ton of new english swear words and sx jokes.
Little 10 year old me did not get 90% of the adult jokes back then but it did not matter since i hade finally found an animated mario character😅
Nowadays I appreciate the amazing commentary and gameplay instead.

Way back in the day I remember cutting out some pictures in magazines to make a collage in art class. And I somewhere I saw an ad and box art for Wario Land 2. Internet was uncommon back then and I was like NO WAY THERES A WARIO LAND 2?? And that's the box art? (it's just Wario dashing forward)
One of my favourite games of all time.
I always used to muck around and see what you could do with games. And the first level where you don’t wake wario I just tried, expecting nothing but to actually see a new story line take place blew my mind.
