Wario is like Donkey Kong in that most people recognize him from his appearances in Mario spin-offs, rather than his actual games.
ehh, dk has the original donkey kong going for him, so people *know* DK as his own thing thats related to mario. like a sibling series
But they don't deserve that! They have some of the best games I've ever played!
Yeah
im weird because I mostly know him from Smash Bros and by extension warrioware.
I was just never that interested in mario party and obviously he's kind of lost in the sauce when it comes to marokart.
If only DK had that much games Wario has... It looks like a dream, lol
The best part of the Amiibo renders is that they're canonically drawn by Wario himself. Literally everyone else gets drawn like shit, but when he draws _himself..._
He's a really good Artist Ngl
@@toorurururu5911He's only a good artist when he cares.

How do we make our character counterpart evil?
NINTENDO: Make it bigger
SEGA: Lets make it black
Technically, Wario and Waluigi have a darker skin tone than Mario and Luigi.
I pointed that out to some dumb Twitter artist that recolored Mario and Luigi as black and they got mad at that for some reason lol.
i like how the "black hedgehog" is still somehow less black than the red echidna.
I saw a meme that said "crack team of experts I assembled to kill the entire cast of overwatch" and it was just characters that are a bigger, eviler, counterpart to another character. Like Wario, Bluto, Pete, King dedede, venom and so on.
Dark Link?
@@crittrblack hedgehog is Latino if anything
Garlic is in renaissance paintings an analogue for Overabundance and Greed. Think that's why Wario is so fond of it.
Also it’s a Japanese pun and an upside down mushroom
Garlic in my diet is an analogue for being delicious, like wow is someone sweating some garlic and there I am. Honestly it's pretty impressive Nintendo saw that and incorporated that.
Garlic eater is also an insult for the lower class as well as Italians. Funny, enough, despite Wario’s obviously unhealthy build, garlic has a lot of health benefits.
wario's actually not that bad, the man's an absolute unit and all that muscle takes a lot of stored energy to function properly, hence the fat. it's like the people you see at world's strongest man competitions. the fat's there as a fueltank for the horsepower his muscles have

it's that simple. there's what people want him to be and what he truly is when he's not putting on a show (he's retired from treasure hunting.)
Looks like we have a fellow Schafrillas viewer in the court.
Perchance.
Hearing Wario say full, FULL ASS sentences after so long of WAH, fills me with the same feelings as witnessing your child's first words and your dog suddenly being capable of articulate speech at the same time.

I thought of an idea for a Wario Land sequel where the plot could involve Waluigi getting a job at WarioWare only for the place to blow up.
Now, Wario, Waluigi, and the rest of the WarioWare employees go on an adventure to confront the baddie to get revenge along with getting some treasure along the way as to pay for the medical bills and a new building.
That’s actually genius. Nintendo needs to hire you right now.

How is WarioWare Gold Forgettable?
Is usually considered the best one
WarioWare Gold is probably the most memorable WarioWare game to me
Someone doesn't know what sarcasm is
@@koji8872 Sure as hell didn’t sound like sarcasm to me.
I guess it's forgettable in that it came out in 2018 on the 3DS, a time when most people didn't really care about the 3DS anymore. As a result, only pretty passionate WarioWare fans, 3DS enthusiasts or people who genuinely wanted to try out WarioWare in light of a year-long drought, noticed the game releasing and bothered enough to buy it, bought it.
Yeah wario ware golds in that wonderfully rough spot of being built around highlighting the best of ds functionality based minigame.
Its a glorious send off to an era thats packed and got a lot of love but the very nature of it required it to be on hardware that a lot of gamers quit altogether when the switch dropped.
Great game but i imagine the sales outside of die hard fans suffered for it.
I think it's time to realize that any character that has been in any media consistently for 15+ years is going to have a verity of artists interpret their character in various different ways to tell whatever new story they want to tell. And therefore, many characters have an "identity crisis" save for characters that have no real personality.
what is bud on about
While true I do think there somewhat should be "core traits" that is kept when reinterpreting the character or they won't feel like "the character" IMO - even stuff that's rebooted should be like that.

not hearing a single mention of WarioWare D.I.Y. is very sad, that game is great and more than just a collection of games, it has great music and art creation tools, and you can create your own mini games. it's my favourite wario game.

Surprised that you didn't mention Wario Land: Shake It! Game was really fun and the music is fantastic.
I haven't heard Luigi say "you look ridiculous" in such a long time, I think I need to take a lap
It's kinda funny how many games have Wario as a main Villain there's like 4. Mario Land 2, Wario's Woods, Mario & Wario and Dr.Mario 64
I would argue that both Wario and Waluigi are the vilains in DDR Mario Mix

Ngl wario ware is legit my favorite nintendo franchise, with gold being my standout fave (but releasing on the 3DS post switch didnt help). Its baffling for sure and ideally i wish wario land got as much love, but the idea of wario going from random rival chsracter to having multiple headlining distinct properties of his own is so cool.
wacky treasure hunter Wario still lives on in my heart
15:25 Wario dropped the F bomb in the stadium
Wario World and Wario Land 4 were such good games for Wario. His character really shined through and through with personality. The levels in WW are really long but the combat does keep it engaging

I feel like the video falls apart when you realize that wario ware became really popular because it was probably one of the few Nintendo IP teams that was highly sold because a lot of parents probably saw the title of mini game and they got more bang for the bucks compared to the other options Out there since most games I grew up with usually had more than just one style. It was very rare whenever I had a handheld game that didn’t have multiple things happening in each stage
Tsk tsk, somebody forgot the greatest Wario title, Wario Master of Disguise. For shame. For shame.
The amount of WarioWare shade in this video is weird…
Also saying WarioWare Gold is a *forgettable* title
*You really do undermind everything the 3Ds gave us a lot of the time don’t ya Alax?*
I'm so glad I wasn't the only one who was a bit annoyed that he said Gold was forgettable.
Wario Land 4 and Wario World are such good games. Those were the ones for him that we played to pieces as kids. And yes, the levels in Wario World are incessantly long.
Yknow, people keep saying Wario is an exaggerated Mario, but Nintendo seems to have a fear of giving Mario noticeable flaws, to the point where he almost never has any dialogue, even when it’s inconsequential like in the Mario Party games. (Aside from the recent movie where they Had to do something to make him more interesting.)
Mario Party 6 and 7 actually made Mario somewhat snarky with "hey stinky!" hehe...also look up Mario vs. Donkey Kong in GBA and Mario has funny dialogue that seems surreal.
You say that yet the moment they give him flaws, y’all call him a “bad brother” to Luigi or a “psychopath” smh. 😒
@@Rediscool9Facts some fans are the most ungrateful people ever the minute Mario gets any type of flaw people take it out of context. Also these are the same people calling Mario boring for being “too perfect”.
Wario is slowly but surely becoming more popular than Waluigi and I’m all here for it.
1:40 damn what a throwback
This video is a meme ride, and I love it lmao
I really appreciate the clarity and respect that you show in the ad for this video. Bringing it up at the start and having the ad read at the end is very classy, I can't stand when its 3 minutes into the video with the fakey "speaking of armor that protects you, blah vpn can protect ..." transition.
I had a friend drop [drugs] and talk extensively about the significance of Waluigi a few years back -- and this is somehow that exact same conversation, except my friend actually had a point, and had the excuse of being on [the drugs].
Alternative Title: Alax hate WarioWare Series
Wario has been my favorite Nintendo character every since I played Mario Kart 64 as a kid, so I find it a bit depressing how little love he gets. Wario Land 4 is genuinely one of my favorite games of all time, the gameplay mixed with the insane artstyle and banger soundtrack is just perfection
Imagine in a parallel universe where we have Waluigi Ware instead of Wario Ware
Wario Land and Waluigi Ware
I miss Wario Land 3 and 4 Wario 🥺
I miss Master of Diguise. That was the best Wario game ever to me.
No mention of Wario Land Shake It or that his original costume is in smash is kinda wild. And if you want to talk about an identity crisis, Master of Disguise had so many different Wario transformations that the jokes write themselves
i personally love the warioware games.
also wanted to say that you can change to his regular outfit in smash
Y'know I had no idea the devs behind Metroid 2 created Wario/Mario Land 2... But it is kinda fitting looking back.
Since the engine for Wario Land 4 was used to make Metroid Fusion, and I think Zero Mission if I'm not mistaken.
Essentially the Metroid devs created Wario, and Wario devs later returned the favor. Funny how things work out
Excuse my ignorance, but how did they return the favor?

12:06 cool dk sound effect
Wario World 100% feels like it's from another universe where wario's games somehow outsold mario's, and a copy of one of his games just somehow made it into ours
0:35 I've never heard of male pattern revenge lol
dunno man, as much as he wario was a shoe in for the wario ware series, i feel like it builds a lot on his character. looking over his double-dash item, to mariokart courses with his name on it, to his own games, it really draws a picture of a guy that will do anything for money.
he only committed crime punishable by law in his debut title (im sure terrorism is legal in mario sporting events), his courses in the MK series are probably as shoddy and ramshackle and improvised as they because he only wants to meet the bare minimum and still get paid (presumably) for contributing tracks for racing.
in short really like the different ways this side character of a man has his greed personalized in the entries he's featured in
Wario is my favorite video game character of all time. For one, I like his design; I have an affinity for big, burly characters, especially goofy-looking ones, and that's Wario in a nutshell. I also really like how he's basically Mario but with his features exaggerated, to emphasize how he's the "anti-Mario". For another, I like how Wairo and his games are allowed to be weird and unique in ways Mario games typically aren't allowed to be. Mario has had some weird, even crazy titles, but those are usually reserved for spin-offs (or at least they used to be), while Wario's games seem to be weird by default. The free boundaries when it comes to what Wario is or "supposed to be" allows for a lot of creativity and imaginative stuff, in regards to the gameplay, visuals, music, and level design.
But the thing I love and appreciate most about Wario is that he's an incredibly versatile character. This video opens up with the seeming "contradiction" of Wario being very much like Mario only to suddenly be seen as a biker in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, from the perspective of someone only familiar with Wario through Mario spin-offs, and then goes into how his character "fluctuates" depending on the game, but honestly, with the possible exception of his role in Subspace Emissary, Wario has never really felt out-of-character in any of his appearances. Over time, his personality has been built up and refined to emphasis two things: greed and selfishness. What drives the plot in all Wario games is Wario's desire for things, usually money and treasure, or to get revenge against someone, typically for taking his stuff or treasure. He took over Mario's castle (which I guess he has, apparently) out of jealousy, sure, but it's his desire to have a castle of his own that motivates him to doing what he did in Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3. Wario helps the Hidden Figure collect the Five Music Boxes in Wario Land 3, but only after the Hidden Figure says he can keep whatever treasure he finds along the way. The Merfle thinks Wario is helping him to free Queen Merelda from the Shake King, but he's clearly more interested in getting the Bottomless Coin Sack. Even with the WarioWare games, the only reason he starts up his own video game company is because he's looking to score some easy cash, hence why he calls his friends to do most of the work.
Even the more crude aspects of Wario's personality have basically always been there. While I admit, I'm not a fan of how more recent games and ESPECIALLY Super Smash Bros. tend to emphasis the toilet humor and him farting over anything else about that, it's not like he was a clean character before this. He picks his nose, scratches his butt, drools while he sleeps. Again, Wario is allowed to be things Mario typically isn't, and that includes being a little gross every now and then... even if I would REALLY like Nintendo to stop acting like Wario is only one big fart joke.
All-in-all, there's a lot to like about Wario, and I wish more people would see that. I legit watched someone play Wario Land 4 for the first time, and they were shocked because, in their own words, they only knew Wario as "that guy from the Mario games who farts", and that frustrates me so much. There is so much potential with this character and Nintendo is in a position where they're focusing on bigger, "safer" projects and don't really have time to make the smaller, more off-beat titles they used to make. I legit can't imagine anyone within Nintendo actually wanting to make another Wario Land game, or do anything besides make more WarioWare games, and don't get me wrong, I love WarioWare, but I feel like certain elements of Wario's image and personality are lost in only focusing on WarioWare. Wario is and always has been a goofball, but he's also kind of a badass, hence why his signature move is his shoulder bash, and that's just something you don't get to see too often in the WarioWare games. Hopefully either someone within Nintendo finally takes notice of fans wanting a new Wario Land installment, or someone approaches them with a really strong pitch for something similar to that, because I really want to see the "full package" Wario of being silly and strong come back someday.
Just from the opening i can already tell how good this vid is going to be
