Welcome to Moto Ideas! Our goal is to make learning how to ride dirt bikes much easier for beginners, and making progress much easier for the prosđ€
Iâm WOT, straight from the dealership. đ
Your process is fine. Proper jetting and full warm ups ate just as important.
Great video buddy, continue making videos!
This was help full, I'm currently braking in a 2 stroke street bike. Aprilia RS 125 :).
Nice man! I hope it helpsđ€
My KTM 250xc-w is street legal
This helped so much I was so confused on hour to do this
Awesome I'm glad this video could helpđ€
Yz250 manual says to mix twice as much oil into your gas for the initial 3 break in heat cycles. Which is 15:1 if your using yamalube. Manual also says 5-8 minutes each. 1st cycle: light load short mid throttle openings. 2nd cycle mid throttle blips under load. 3rd cycle some full throttle/higher gear under load for short duration only. 1 hour of use before breaking in is complete. No heavy wide open for long duration during break in.
The best technique would definitely be in the owners manual. I might try that next timeđ€
i have a 50cc 2 stroke scooter that i recently did a rebuild on
but i cant mix more oil because it has a oil pump
i adjusted the fuel mix to be rich for the break in period so it lubricates more
is that enough or should i mix some oil into the gas too?
Yes, mix some oil into the gas.
â@@frodo4087you should take off the oil pump and premix, just worked on a 50cc moped and the engine was destroyed because the oil pump drive sheared off
Put a face mask over your air box filter too so youâre dirtbike doesnât catch the covid
Nice video champ..
Good tutorial...thanx
Glad you enjoyed!
Thank you for this video! Do you let the bike coop down between runs ?
No problem! I donât. I do the runs all at once
Here in india we have 100-135 cc two strokes from suzuki and yamahas.. these two brands are predominant. These are aircooled single cylinder and for the yamaha 135cc the company recommend to ride the bike below 4k rpm for 1500kms. These numbers are absurd comparing to what the mordern age two stroke bikes run in is followed. And the piston to liner clearance is around 30-32 microns.
Thatâs interesting đ€ Iâve never had any experience around bikes like that
Usually I Breakin with rich AFR for 3 cycles. Idiling for 1 litres. 2nd idiling in 1500rpm for 1 litres. Optimum mix for final 1 litres. Its my opinion for a beginner breaking technique. Oil mix is 3 times the optimum mix.
I wanna trust you but , you have shorts on in the winter đ lol jk. Thanks for the video
You make a good point theređ
which break in 2-stroke oil to use?
Redline
How long for cool down? In warm conditions lol
The last time I rebuilt it (in the summer) It seems like it took 1-2hrs to completely cool down between cycles
Do u use the choke?
Only if I need to in order to get it startedđ€·ââ
How many kilometers, i should main tain the break in period...
Itâs really hard to measure in kilometers on a dirt bike, so if you can, just measure in hours. Even if your bike doesnât have an hour meter, you can set a timer on your phone every time you ride until you get 3-5hrs in. Then the break in period is overđ€
you seem to know a lot about two sroke engines yet you still dont pull the clucth while coasting?
Only if itâs really high rpmâsđ€·ââïž
Mixed feelings on this comment. Low speed doesn't really matter, but fast coasting will starve bearings and rings of oil.
You dont
Haha
