I think most people are still willing to try a product because they know there are some people you just can’t make happy no matter what you do.

Thankfully, i have only received one 1 star review (touch wood)
I got a message from a customer explaining she had received the wrong order and candle and gave me the name of the customer whose order she did receive. I apologized and thanked her for letting me know, and i made it right.
In turn, i reached out to the other customer (whom also would be receiving an incorrect order as i mislabeled the packages.
I explained to him that he would be getting the wrong candle, which he would keep, and also, the one he ordered plus bonus items had already been shipped.
Two days later, the 2nd customer left a 1 star review complaining about the incorrect candle and that they just wanted the candle they ordered. Moments later, he sent me a message saying that he left the review because he didn't know how to send messages. Very strange.
Incidentally, the first lady gave me a 5 star review whilst mentioned the CS i gave to make the order correct.
I have been able to do that same thing on a couple reviews. It’s always nice when the person is willing to understand the mess up and then correct the review.
I saw customers give bad reviews even though it was their fault for not reading what they’re buying. 😅
I have literally gotten low star reviews because:
- Someone didn't think a candle smelled like "it should" based on the description (and passed up the opportunity to purchase a tea light sample instead of a full sized candle)
- They liked the product, but liked a different one (also from my store) better
- The post office lost it (and I had sent them a brand new one free of charge, which arrived on time, but oh well)
Edit: I have also gotten mistaken one star reviews where the review is GLOWING but the star is 1, so..Yeah.

I had a lady that emailed me and said her candle didn't smell like "pine" it was a pine candle. I offered her a replacement for any other candle or her money back. She said "I want a pine candle" She never emailed me back.
5 stars are always something i do to get Amazon off my back after Christmas. One star, well, there are angry, unsatisfied people who will lash out at everyone. Let it pass

@@StandleyHandcrafted One stars can be very helpful. It can show up trends in problems with the product.
Though, yes, some are just ridiculous and good for a chuckle.
Honestly, if a product has 1000s of 5 star reviews and 0 1-2 star reviews, I have doubts
