The last ls2 I built did this if you stripped one the rest will do it. I ended up using 7/16-14 Allen bolts 12.9 I drilled everyone out and put thin wall time serts in it I probably only spent 100 total. The Allen bolts are way better than factory and I run them in my cummins engines with 45+psi boost for about 8 years now.

I probably should have done something like that but was in a hurry and just spent the $$ on the kit. I started putting them in tonight and it works sweet.

I agree. The ARP studs should arrive this week.

    Why would that happen?

Several reasons. One is that the threads are aluminum and aluminum threads aren't that strong on a good day. The heads have also been pulled several times and I think they have been gradually pulling out the threads each time. The biggest issue is that the short bolts have about 9/16" less threads in the block than the long ones which is why they are torqued less than the rest. It's annoying to have to fix this but the block will be much stronger when I get done.

this is the WAY that GM cheeped out they made a hole Series of Cadillac motors that had this same problem and the fix was easy studs they just cost more

looks like a dirty bolt hole...

Nope, I'm very particular about having them clean. The only thing that would have been in the hole is the thread sealant that comes on the new TTY bolts.

@@xpsgarage I would just go arp so I could reuse them. Also way stronger.
