Close yes slightly same concept except this one is not a lawyer but a politician a profession most people want them to he unable to lie. That idea has a great appeal to everyone.

This is actually a adaptation of the 2014 Brazilian Comedy film of the same name, in the original version, the protagonist is a very corrupt congressman running for president who paints a image of being ruthless with corruption, he gets cursed with a charm of his dying grandmother who renders him unable to lie(essentially, being our version of the Jim Carrey's "Liar Liar" movie). but in the end its revealed to only being a conscience crisis. The movie is a satire on Brazil's political crisis, and it was very successful, rendering a sequel four years later. Here, it was released on the years were the federal and state elections took place.
so this is an Asian adaption of a Brazilian adaption of a US made movie. lol

I have watched a few of your movie recaps of movies that I haven't seen, and I thought that they sounded so interesing that I went and watched them. This is one of them, and I thoroughly enjoyed myself. Thanks for these, and for opening our eyes to movies made outside of Hollywood.
If I'm not mistaken, this movie might have been made out of the idea from the Brazilian movie with the same name (Candidato honesto, 2014). :)
