Yusef and the other prisoners were kind to a man with a disability while the actual educated citizens bullied him and treated him like a monster.

"I was really fooled by the 8,2-rating on imdb, and often as in case with Indian and Turkish movies rating is insanely high. It seems the rate 10/10 in 9 out of 10 movies they see.
This film, which even is a remake of a South Korean movie named the same, is quite awful. Not when it comes to photography, which is really top notch, and the little girl and the grandmother plays OK, the little girl is very cute.
But the rest is full of overacting, so badly that it makes the film a real stinker. The film is made for making viewer cry, but it's all to ridiculous. The little girl even breaks into prison to see her arrested father.
Nothing to see here. I'm sure the Korean movie is 10 times better, and this is a waste of time.

it was a cold blooded murder to protect the unfaltering image of the law, if law admits they unfairly punished an innocent man, torturing him into a fake confession, then the law would be scrutinised not just for that case alone, but for every crime after it, from small thefts, to murder, every person arrested would be looked at by the public as an innocent person being unfairly punished

momo is set free as the officer sees he was innocent all along
after his execution wracked with guilt the officer takes his own life meanwhile momo lives
the officer is arrested for murdering the witness and trying to do a coverup and sentanced to death and momo is set free

For example Yusuf killed his daughter because everyone was talking about her and that she had an affair with some boy. So to "safe his family honor", he killed her, even though she actually told her father that she didn't do something like that. As far as I remember I think some boy who was rejected by her started the gossip. Or the general problem with the military in smaller regions and their power.

I've actually never seen this specific version, but I have seen the Korean version. When I tell you I SOBBED.
This is forever one of my favourite movies of all time. It was so well done, and so freakin heartbreaking, but so real.
The version I watched was more of a comedy through the middle; The other cell mates sneak his daughter in and they get to hang out and everything, then one of them (I believe the daughter) is dragged away by the guards. The only thing is in that version, he doesn't get to live. Something similar had happened but instead of a little girl he was accused of assaulting a woman (he didn't) and she fell and she died, and he was blamed. At the end of the movie, he is brought away and his daughter is screaming for him, but they still take him. The flash forward is her grown-up as a lawyer, and she actually gets to fight for her dads case and wins, even though he is gone already. It's fucking heartbreaking. SUCH a good movie!

Except in the case of John Wayne Gacy's with years of confirmed brutal tortured victims under their belt, and no remorse for their actions. Those people are monsters who cannot be changed or helped no matter how long they remain on earth. The real root issue of this story was the corruption of the general and discrimination towards a disabled person.
Execution is also a tool and thus *can* be exploited for one's personal benefit - which is why it's a good thing that it's heavily regulated but obvs still has problems of its own. Confirmed serial killers with no remorse will continue to live on the free food and shelter provided in their cells, yet the system will have a suspicious trigger happy finger towards killers with a single kill or some other crime. This sort of turned into a ramble but I just wanted to point it out, no ill-meaning was intended. /gen

So he didn’t care that the guy came and confessed the truth when he was already disgusted at the fact he betrayed his country by deserting his duties. Defending the person he thinks killed his daughter only fueled his rage. He had already made up his mind that he wanted Memo dead. I already knew he would impose his influence on the trial to get the ball rolling.
