Omg I still get emotional when I think of 대장금 (Jewel in the Palace) because it was one of the first dramas that fueled my desire to learn Korean.
If Mr.Queen is anywhere near as good as Jewel in the Palace as you say it is I must go and watch the whole show properly!
P.S. For those of you looking for historical K-drama recommendations I would suggest “Saimdang: Memoir of Colors” (사임당: 빛의 일기) which stars 이영애 (Lee Young-Ae) the same lead actress in Jewel in the Palace! ❤
@@StephJ0seph Mr. Queen, in my opinion, is the modern day version of Jewel in the Palace. Jewel in the Palace is a bit more serious while this is a romantic comedy genre. The editing is very good as well. Love both K-dramas though. ❤

When you realise he was not dragged back to present by jumping into that pond and it happened only on episode 6 while the series is 20 episodes long, you know you sure wanna go for the series. I assure you people, this is one of the finest, greatest political comedy I've ever seen. Bong nearly died there several times and the way he transformed into a female without losing his own self was hilarious. The flirting scenes between the King and the Queen was out of the world. This series is a package of laughter, tension, suspense, politics, thrill and acting. Shin Hye Sun acting as the queen literally nailed it. She really a versatile actress. ❤️

Mr.Queen is SO worth watching! The writing, the humor, the acting, and the actors' charms are top class, even for the side characters. Every one of them is memorable. Not that I don't love Mystery Recapped clip, but the cooking aspect presented in this clip is just ONE of multiple angles that the story is told. If Mystery Recapped wants to do a good and thorough review on Mr. Queen, they probably need 6 hours to do so, no kidding. Go watch it if you can. You'll laugh. You'll cry. You'll sigh with a smile. No regrets, I promise.
So true, I just finished watching it now, the ending was chef's kiss. Aside from the very spectacular cooking montage the story itself of the movie series and the characters portrayed really made this K-Drama series one of the best on my list.

@@iwon25 This is a K-drama series. And yes, the end shown here is the ending in the actual drama. BUT...there are a couple of special additional short episodes after this as well. You should really watch the whole thing. This is easily one of the best K-romantic comedy/drama series.

He doesn’t wake up when he jumped back into the water. He wakes up when SHE sort of completed a queen’s mission and was on the edge of dying. The mission was she helped the King to push his dream policies and set up milestones of changes from monarchy to democracy! I really love this part of the storyline. Respect to this drama, and all the characters/actors in it.❤

I recommend everyone to watch the series as it really is a great one! And also A LOT have been skipped in the recap which is understandable cause its only a 10 min vid. Mystery Recapped should have pointed that out. It's a very hilarious series and there is more to the plot than Bong just cooking and returning back to the present!

I wasn't really planning to watch this back then because I thought this is a historical drama and I'm not a fan of it but man. This was worth it. The comedy, the characters, the story is amazing! Definitely a 10/10 for me!

He didn't want to give away the real story. So he focused on a minor subplot of the drama. The drama is so much more than what's recapped. Action, intrigue, betrayal, obsession, grief, murder, redemption, and love. All wrapped in the craziest most hilarious comedy. Along with Welcome to Waikiki, the funniest thing from Kdrama. Must watch 😍

Honestly this recap is like if a studio asked someone to cut a 20+ hour series into 12 minutes but still make it make sense. Tons of the actual story that makes this show great had been completely skipped. Bong does not go back to the present after refilling the lake.

This is one the highest rating drama in the history of network in korea. Really worth watching and rewatching. Funny like hell , the cast is fantastic and the plot is simple yet enough. Hated the fact that a controversies caused this highly rated drama to be banned and removed frm their list.

@@xtianchen7977 Yes, it's a fictional historical drama and there's even a disclaimer every episode; however, the writers mistake is that they the use the real name and era in the drama which will make mislead other people. Nonetheless, it's one of the best kdrama I've ever watch.

I want to say this recap is misleading, but technically it's not. However, they are leaving out a lot of plot points that makes this drama more than just a comedy. I'd like to think they summarized the story this way for brevity. But IDK. I'm side-eyeing this one.

You skipped the most important part of the story including not only comedy but fight for power inside the palace and the whole personalities of the King and his rivals - two older Queens and the Prime Minister himself. It's not only a story about cooking, but it's full of intrigues. And Bong's returning to his time wasn't so simple, he had to go a long way playing a great role in Joseon history of that period

This is a great quick summary, but I suggest everyone to watch the whole series as it has more drama than the mcdonaldu scene. There is a bit of action, romance, and drama in every episode and it's really worth it to watch!

I used to make fun of my mom for binging romcoms, especially these asian period dramas. Watched the first episode of this series for shits and giggles and thought I'd watch the first 2 episodes and then drop the show. I'm 8 episodes in and hooked now; this show mixes drama, comedy, politics like I've never seen. Great performances by the actors and the script isn't cheesy or overly troupey. Main actress/actor is fantastic and the character is actually smart and likeable. What a fantastic find; I'll be nicer to Asian dramas from now on. 😅
Lmao😂😂😂 but tbh kdrama covered alot of genre and nowadays I found that American series is much more cringe than korean one. I watch Korean, Chinese, thai, Japanese, Turkey, European, American and just some random series and I feel like I pretty much prefer korean drama (some of chinese drama is good too like reset) bcs they portray emotional scenes very natural and realistic. The depth and the tempo is very good that make me invested in the drama. Some of American series is good too but sometimes the tempo is too fast n so many things happen in the short amount of time. Asian drama like to take things slowly and they love to break the ties one by one that's why I'm on kdrama more.

Mr. Queen is actually on my Number 1 favorite of all K drama. It has the perfect blend of comedy and seriousness throughout the series, What I love was the characters stayed consistent from start to finish. I've always hated in other show where the female character starts off indepentent and brave and in the end they turn out to be damsels in distress always bring saved by the harem.
This one stayed true to who she is and I freaking love it, and the fact the romance was unexpected. Ever since I watched this I cannot enjoy other shows the same way

i actually watched mr queen because of this video and oh my god thank you so much for not talking about the rest of the plot. it was genuinely such an amazing kdrama. i watched it for the mcdonald’s scene but got hooked because of the actual plot and was so sad at the end when he returned to his own body. great video and great drama. 100% recommend

One of the best comedy kdrama and one of my favourites. The story, acting, chemistry between two main leads are just great 👍🔥 Sadly it's more underrated by Koreans themselves but totally loved by foreigners all over the world. I didn't regret watching it

I am not a fan of historical drama, but this one is a top notch. Love the acting, the humor, the cinematography and everything about in this drama. Kim Hye Sun is such a great actress.
