TOYOTA Has Gone FULL WOKE! New Tacoma and Tundra are shining examples…

  • Has Toyota gone full Woke? Lots of tiny hybridized engines, forcing green energy down your throat and hiking prices like there is no tomorrow... Doesn't feel right. What happened to Reliability, Simplicity, and Affordability? Isn't that the Toyota way? Not anymore it appears. A 2024 Toyota Tacoma that cost over $50K with a 2.4L 4 cylinder motor and is made entirely out of Mexico. Cool. Who asked for that? I’ll highlight a 2024 Toyota Tacoma TRD Sport, TRD Off Roads and SR5s in this video. Along with various 2024 Toyota Tundras!
    Toyota enjoyed hyping their new Tundra sales in March, but what they fail to mention is that the majority of them were carry-over models from 2023 that didn't sell the year prior. Inventory levels were through the roof across the nation because they hadn't been selling. So of course when tax seasons rolls around and Toyota dealers start offering $8-10K off MSRP, they magically sold?
    Very few truck guys get genuinely amp'd for a 4 banger pickup truck... let alone a 4 banger pickup that cost over $50K. smh...
    In this satirical video I show what it takes to get invited to Toyota events! Wish me luck!
    If you enjoyed this video and appreciate the honesty I provide, please consider Liking and Subscribing. I genuinely appreciate your support, thank you!

      Knee-jerk low-I.Q. sentiment there. Study the improved 4-cyl. torque specs, and learn basic geology. We've been drilling for desperation oil after global conventional crude plateaued around 2006 (leading to financial shock). Fracking bailed us out for awhile, but it's a matter of when (not if) shale drilling peaks, then the wastrel mentality will be shunned. The Permian shale in Texas is now the bulk of what's supposed to make America "energy independent," which was always lousy math. The Bakken in North Dakota quietly peaked after years of hype, and the same game of pretend-it's-infinite is being played in Texas.

      Boo fuckin’ hoo. Toyota just had their best sales month in 3 years and they’re trouncing the rest of the car industry. You can stand there and scream the word “woke” and bitch about high prices but the market is what matters. And the market has decided that Toyota makes some of the best cars and trucks out there. Do I think $80k for a Tundra is stupid? Yes. But that doesn’t mean there aren’t a lot of other people who are happy to pay that. And they can’t keep the new Tacomas on the lots down here in Texas.

    • @ChrisDavis333
      @ChrisDavis333 Před 27 dny

      @@russmode I think that’s the story of most young men, particularly for those of us who didn’t have it growing up, there’s a longing for getting the shiny thing. I’m thankful I didn’t overextend myself to get an expensive car as a kid because then I would have been fighting a repossession on my record for the next decade, I wouldn’t have been able to buy anything, much less something nice. Because I didn’t live beyond my means as a kid/young adult, I’m now in a better position to buy what I want, I still won’t overextend like a lot of people would. When I see a nice car on the road I will usually just admire the vehicle without any thought for the person who bought it.. is it a lease? Did they have a trade in? Did they have a good interest rate? What’s their credit score? Maybe it’s not their car? How much do they make in a year? None of that matters, I don’t need to compare myself to anyone else, I’m no lesser of a man than someone with a more expensive car. People overextending on nice cars is a tale as old as time, that’s why there’s thousands of repossessed cars sold at auctions every week in the U.S. and for every repossession there’s a rich person that can actually afford it, and the payment doesn’t stress them financially. Rich people oftentimes will lease cars, there’s a reason they’re rich. They will always appear to have the latest and greatest car because they are incentivized to continue to trade in their 2 year old car for the new model, and brand loyalty is rewarded by most manufacturers. They will have a cheaper payment than if they financed, and because they’re rich they likely have Tier 1 credit and don’t put any money down and they pay low interest rates, so they basically leverage nothing. They rent the vehicle because it’s a depreciating asset, and it allows them new vehicles every 1-2 years, they know not to tie their money into a depreciating asset. For rich people it’s less about owning the car being the goal, and more about it being a status symbol and making a statement. If they finance the car they’re driving it for twice as long, and they pay for the 4-5 years of depreciation, and they’re on the hook if something happens. If they lease they just rent the vehicle at a lower cost and swap it out for a new one every year or 2, and present as always owning a nice new car, status, but done with consideration. They always have the option to buy the car at the end of the lease, but rarely do because it’s a bad investment. It’s smart really, if status is your goal. Most of us want to own our car.

    • @jared2880
      @jared2880 Před 21 dnem +2

      It really has a noticeable MPG advantage when you’re putting around town, and not constantly flooring it, and coasting to stops/red lights. At those low speeds and loads you don’t need the power of a V6, and so all that extra weight and friction from two extra cylinders, banks, manifolds, pistons and 8 more cams, etc… all it does it lower MPG for potential power that is not currently needed.
      When you get onto the highway at 70 and especially 80+ MPH, and definitely with towing, the difference in MPG is greatly reduced. You essentially have a small motor working hard and a large motor working easier.
      That being said, 4 cylinder engines have come a LONG way in the past 30 years. There was the gaffe period of balancing output with reliability and cost (*Hyundai turbo 4’s blowing up, Subaru blowing gaskets, etc*.), but I think we are in a fantastic spot where my 2.0 Ecoboost can make almost as much torque as a 5.0 Ford V8 from 20 years ago, produce more HP, and get better MPG.
      I do think there is a limit, though. Anything that weighs over 4,500/5,000 lbs and isn’t a commercial or industrial vehicle, should probably just have a big DOHC 3.8-4.0 V6 or I6 with modern VVT, cam phasing, port or direct fuel injection, or a 3.0 with all that and a turbo. The alternative is a 4-banger with a hybrid- which does the job just fine and maybe even faster… it’s just if and when that hybrid system acts up… 😬

Private equity firms are the enemy driving up land prices and rent.

The issue is that the people down here aren’t known for being very educated and lack common sense. The vast majority of the people that own pickup trucks don’t actually need them. They make a horrible financial decision due to trends and “that’s just what us southerners do!” But don’t actually know why they do it. They buy these $80k+ trucks all while only earning around $45k a year. They use them to commute 15-25 miles (or more) to work every day and that’s all they use them for. No trailers, the bed has never been used. They just buy these massive V8 trucks that serve them absolutely no purpose. They are a horrible financial decision that they true to justify.

Kinda figured dealer probably hosed me for a couple/few extra grand compared to private purchase, BUT it was still a wise decision anyway..... 3 years later, two coast to coast road trips with no issues or problems with my Tundra.... Due for new front brakes, soon..... Am in a position to not worry about lousy mileage.... Have been dealing with that since my 1989 4Runner that lasted 18 years until a dementia driver pulled out in front of me and totaled my baby (hence the 2007 Taco).....1989 until today (5-14-24) only spent about $1,000 in repairs (engine seal and water pump on 4Runner back in the 90s) ..... Are Toyotas more expensive to buy? ...Yup..... Do they get crummy gas mileage?...Yup.... Miniscule cost for total reliability, peace of mind and no time in the shop, except a couple times 25 yrs ago.....
    When Toyota haters come out of the woodwork to harass me, all I can say is: Neener Neener Neener ;o)

    I recently bought a 2011 Land Cruiser and 2010 Tundra for less than a base Sequoia Both run great. No need for these.

    There will come a day maybe in twenty or thirty years when we’ll look back at these crazy times and wonder how we survived it. At that time, you’ll be a middle aged man and I, well, I may not be in this world. I wish my adopted and beloved country, America, good luck.

    This video brought up a lot of valid points. BUT I’d rather buy a hybrid V6 or 4 Banger over a Tesla.
