I repaired one of these that had been in a minor fender bender when I worked at a highline collision repair shop. Very very nice driving car, very smooth and comfortable. I was impressed with the overall build quality, the interior is quite handsome, in typical GM fashion some of the small details and materials feel a slight bit cheap, but the car feels solidly built like it would last a long time. The excessive number of tiny screws holding the underbody air cladding to the front bumper and fastening the wheelwell liners and such to the vehicle was very reminiscent of the BMW's I usually work on. 😂 These seem like they'd make a great car for someone with a long commute.
They didnt discontinue this car but they changed its name, now its called the ct6 instead of the xts. The ats got changed by the ct4 and the cts changed into the ct5. They are the same but different name

Well, I had a Jeep Rubicon raise as my daily driver. Worked at a Funeral Home for several years after retiring. After 6 plus years of driving the Jeep and it was a manual 6 speed. I became over the time so sick of shifting and bouncing around and climbing in and out of it, keeping on mind I was driving Cadillac cars for work, I finally gave up and bought a 2013 XTS4. I absolutely love driving it. In fact, my 2010 Corvette has gone only 150 miles this year 2023. I'm happy, happy. Of course, I'm 72. Lol
I've been driving this for the last few years. Pros. The V6 is fine, didnt get a car for speed, its still fast, its faster than my 1990 V8 Caddy Fleetwood. These are cabs alllllll over NYC. Very true! Thanks for putting a positive light on them. This car is a really nice combo - Black Raven paint on Caramel leather interior, which is rare and only available in 2013 & 2014. Faux leather on upper doors etc BUT it is hand-cut-and-sewn, and on Platinum it all becomes real Opus leather. Also Kona Brown Semi-Aniline full leather seating was available as an upgrade as of 2015. Furthermore - there was an XTS V-Sport available as of 2014 with 410hp and AWD, for those who want a bit more power. :-)

Everything he touched on is exactly right! I bought my 13 AWD used. About 7 years ago. Definitely a sleeper car, smooth AF. It’s fast when it want it to be, good breaks, roomy, is comfortable when you use the electric seat adjustment (but not as comfortable as the pre 90s), nice sound system, quiet, depreciation is high so you can score one for CHEAP. It does look nice. My fave styling the the 50s break light fins. I drove it for almost 70K miles, with no major issues! But I should do some maintenance on shocks struts, they started to be worn 1k miles ago.... but that’s after 70k on the clock! I like waxing it too. Heating steering wheel is dope. I also like this because it’s definitely a bit different from all the other luxury cars.

I've had a couple of experiences with these myself. I considered a used XTS Platinum AWD on the way to one of my recent car purchases. My observation on that extended thigh support is that it was made for someone like me. That car also had adjustable side bolsters, among the other available adjustments. Definitely a shot at BMW there. I didn't buy it, but whoever did got a bargain, as the price kept falling on it. Avis handed me a practically new XTS when I arrived in Detroit for the last weekend of the Walter P. Chrysler Museum. This car was pretty much the bottom rung of the XTS lineup, and perhaps explains why the car didn't do better than it did. That lovely adjustable gauge cluster was replaced by the one used in the ATS and many CTS models, and it was an embarrassment, unworthy of even a modern economy car. I can't think that putting the biggest cost cutting directly in the customer's face helped sales. The rest of the car was fine, aside from CUE's iPod integration having an argument with my iPod that had over 10,000 tracks on it, a feat that is easily done, BTW. Another problem to watch out for with the 3.6 is the power steering. When driving taxis recently, I noticed problems with the power steering in the Chevrolet Traverses that used the same engine. Here's what I think might be the culprit. The power steering reservoir is under the engine cover, completely concealed by it. A typical owner, or a careless mechanic might well overlook it. And it will eventually run dry. So if your car doesn't have electric power assist, there you go. Even so, it's great to see someone appreciate these cars.
