Love my 14 RAM...but went looking at some new ones recently. Here in Phoenix about $10k off MSRP but still $63k.....they can keep them....not even close.
Think about this :: With so many regulations now on automobiles here in the USA, & Canada's carbon tax , prices threw the roof on vehicles. There's a bigger picture that most people aren't seeing . Something is up besides high car & truck prices people..
It doesn't matter how much they lower the prices. People are looking for long term vehicles. These mobile collections of failure points is like signing a contract that includes future headaches as part of the price.
I've gotten true value out of my 2014 Jeep Patriot 4x4 Sport. $23000 new, still running well with 229000 miles. Plenty of off pavement miles, too. Remember, the prices stated are Canadian $, 25-30% more than USD. The real value in a vehicle is reasonable cost per mile for the long haul.
Most of these are discounted 15% For sitting for 1-2 years. Still not worth the buy. I’m thinking more like 30-40% off and it might be more reasonable.
@@Kevin-mk6jonot around here. It’s all old country people buying jeeps and rams. Saw a couple in their 70s buy a new ram and put 20k down and traded in a JGC. Same day another 60+ couple bought a 4xe.

I totally agree with this. Trades people work to support their families, and the truck is a tool. There's really no need of any of these companies not offering a based no frills work truck. If they can't build a blue collar truck then why do they even exist?

The sad thing is under 55k trucks are stripped of any options… the prices are insane for what I got just 3 years ago a loaded Jeep was affordable now I’d be crazy to buy unless 10k plus off the MSRP!
Bought a ram truck in 82 nice little half ton slant six 4or 5 speed standard on the floor (sorry cant remeber the number of gears) was a great little truck was under 8000.00 dollars. I just see greed in the whole econamy period.
Ok, I will give you that todays trucks have too much junk in them that runs up prices, but after 40 years and the current nitwit government, it’s surprising that prices aren’t higher. But living 40 years ago and being unrealistic about how prices went up, is myopic at best and irresponsible for sure. Really until Creepy Joe slimed into office, cars were $10-12k less and there was a good used market for people on a budget. Now, after 3+ years of mismanagement and outright corruption, we have high gas and vehicle prices along with a suspicious chip shortage that drives car prices up and how can we forget the EV fiasco, brought to you by our enemies the Chinese and the so-called elites. All the blather about electric vehicles has been produced by people who hate us, want to control us and who know damn well that they won’t work. Only the truly gullible idiots or the people who stand to benefit will keep pushing this narrative.
Cut the freaking prices in half, you might be able to sell some of those. A 20K price cut is still way, way too expensive. Not worth it. Let them sit on the lots, collect dust, and rust away for all I care.
I went to my local Dodge Ram dealer yesterday to just look around because I will be in the market soon. They had a vehicle unlocked so my son sat inside it. A salesman walked up and asked if we were buying a vehicle today. I said no. He asked why are you here? I said we were just bored and wanted to look around. He then told my son to get out of the vehicle. He said we don’t let anyone inside vehicles unless they are buying it and then he asked us to leave.
I had a 4xe as a rental for a few days. I like the new infotainment center. I didn't like the rest of it. I am really thankful I rented it because jeep was on my short list to buy. Now I wouldn't consider it. I probably wouldn't take one as a rental either.
A very basic medium size to smaller truck with 4 cylinders and manual transmission for less than $20K would get me interested. Ughhhh but nobody makes those anymore like those older very reliable Ford Rangers of past.
I'm so glad i bought a very reliable 2017 Tacoma TRD Sport back in 2017 before things went stupid. Have it paid off and have babied i and no funky engine tunes or mods so it runs like new and looks amazing still. Looks like I'm going to be holding onto it for a lot longer then i thought. I was going to trade it in while it had a very high used price still attached to it and upgrade to a 2024 TRD Sport model. Not anymore. Even with an 830 credit rating the rates are still to high and so are the prices. Maybe in late 2025 I'll look seriously at the market.
Jeep/Ram/Dodge have never held value BUT some idiot in Europe thought raising the MSRPs would fixed that?! 😂 I would never choose a Ram 3/4 ton for the same price as a Ford or the 1/2 ton. They’ve proven zero to justify MSRP increases. They screwed themselves on the TRX, should’ve started at a lower price.
I was always a dodge fan. I owned two dakotas, a ram, and a wrangler. They are good looking vehicles but mechanically and electrically they are horrible. The last straw was when the dealership told me it was acceptable for my wrangler to burn a quart of oil every 1000 miles according to Jeep so the warranty wouldn’t cover replacing the engine. They actually did take the Jeep back in on trade for more than I paid for it used, so I guess they are committed fully to whatever their narrative is. I drive Toyotas now which have been flawless mechanically.
Even if the manufacturers dropped the MSRPs by 50% the price would still be too high considering the interest rates for financing. Even the monthly car insurance is outrageous for a new car. Just buy a reliable used car and forget the new car racket. Why finance a depreciating asset?
