Ray and Zach take a gander at the BEST-SELLING (fastest-selling) and WORST-SELLING (slowest-selling) cars in America for the month of July! The slowest-selling cars usually equate to being the MOST NEGOTIABLE cars as well, so take advantage of the situation if you see any cars you want on that list! - ZĂĄbava
People want cheaper cars. People want a car with a decent interior, that isnât 70 freaking grand. The only reason those cars are selling so fast is because finding cars in that price range is becoming more and more obscure, so those few vehicles control the market.
You can buy decently equipped midsize and full size sedans for half that, what are you talking about? I sell Trucks and used.
This is why my last two sedans have been accords. Last one I bought was an â09 I bought in â11.
@@calebniederhofer6529 sorry, my explanation wasnât the greatest. Yes, that was my point that these are selling fast due to the lower prices on sedans/midsize SUVs these companies offer. I used the generic term âcarâ when I should have used truck/SUV. Iâm also referring to new here.
Get rid of sunroofs--expensive, complex, prone to leak, heavy, weakens structure, less headroom, most people never open theirs!

Surprized Fiat sold 100 electric cars. it is a miracle that they can sell any cars of any type at all.
They are relatively cheap, which is why.
Its a good city commuter car. Tiny and really efficient at slow speeds.
@@seanpowers346 Perhaps for an electric car. Cheaper to buy a small ICE vehicle from Toyota, Honda, or Hyundai, Cheaper in the long run. At least in Canada. They start at 38K in Canada (28K USD).
@@joshreed1216 Fiats have always been good at low speed because they can not go any faster. The ICE powered Fiats in Canada were crap. The ICE powered 300 and 500 are no longer sold here. Start at 38K here. Corolla hybrid starts as 30K here.
Never buying a FIAT, ICE or electric. No matter how cheap they are. Theyâre complete junks.

That POS hornet is more expensive than a 2024 WRX, LOL!
I notice unusual cars around me all the time. I have yet to see ONE Dodge Hornet actually on the road.
I see plenty of them sitting in the lot of my local CRJ dealer. But nobody seems to be BUYING them!
Enterprise Car Rental locations have quite a few.
"Lost Automotive Continent of Stellantis" , seriously funny :)
Affordably and RELIABLY!
I have been a big fan for a long time. What I love most about this video is that I KNOW you can afford two mics but use only one anyway. Seriously. You guys are great:)
Are you trying to tell me people are not buying cars that cost $102k. Shockingđ
Itâs only 10% and most people have savings of a million or more by the time they are 45
Never heard, or saw a Dodge Hornet on the road.
You listen for them?
I've seen more AMC Hornets on the road still running, than I've seen Dodge Hornets.
On top of the obvious, I really thing advertisers are targeting the wrong crowds. Check them out.
Subaru Crosstrek has to be on that list
Thank you for the advise on your videos. Im in the process of purchasing a vehicle.
Most of the dealerships here only have the most expensive Toyota Camrys. No lower than 36k
Seeing Camrys used to being OTD for 26k and now OTD for 40k is insane

Eight of the fastest selling are recognized as RELIABLE vehicles with decent pricing . Also , please note . There are FIVE vehicles on the fastest list that are less than that bullshit Hornet .
Would be interesting to see a list that excludes the luxury brands. Also a separate one just for gas-engine cars.
Got a Pilot couple of weeks ago, 6% off MSRP and got a 2.9% 36 month financing. Dealers didn't deal in the city! Had to go out to rural area.

Alas the 2025 Camry has a lot of "new model" markup in my area. Effectively $2K over MSRP/TSRP. I expect they will catch up with the demand within the year, however.
Thats the dealers not the market in newengland 500 off msrp

I am not afraid to walk out of a dealership if I get a salesperson who keeps going back to the boss for price. I rarely. As far as the finance guy I only do financing, and don't go for the "boiler room" tactics and say NO to everything else. Making sure there is no prepayment penalties.
I find you videos are excellent and possibly next time I am in the market I might use your service. But, I am waiting to see what the 2025 Gas Honda CRV EXL will look like interior and exterior. Like to see your video on that. I might lease if the number works and with honda there is always a good residual. LOVE YOUR VIDEOS AND TELL ALL MY FRIENDS. you're right...
I was driving from Milbrae CA to Palo Alto on US101 freeway on Sunday July 7 and noticed a large red 'MSRP or Less' banner attached to Toyota101 building in Redwood City.
I don't recall seeing anything about it on CarEdge, but I read a while back that Jaguar is pulling out of the US market. That would help explain why they can't sell cars.
There seems to be a lot of speculation on what may happen with Jaguar, but between JLR as a whole and Jaguar as an individual entity, theyâve seen some pretty large shakeups in leadership and goals these past few years, and a number of pretty drastic shifts in overall direction as a brand/company; after killing off the big EV project for a next-generation flagship XJ saloon, people were left wondering what the deal was, and it seems that Jaguar instead is committing to an all-new (and significantly upmarket) rebranding to push them closer to the likes of Aston Martin and Bentley, instead of the current standing among BMW, Mercedes, and Audi.
I believe it was last year that JLR pushed a few subtle changes to the lineup to axe some of the complexity in trims and models, paired offerings down across the board, and dramatically reduced their physical presence in retail spaces with a commitment to launch a new grand touring/performance flagship and an EV-first lineup starting in 2025. They said no new models would be seen for 2023 (and subsequently this year), and orders and builds for current 2024s have already largely stopped, with most remaining ICE Jaguars sitting on lots being the absolute last of the last.
The existing leftovers are phenomenal values - the cars themselves are quite proven and reliable nowadays, theyâre definitely still nice, and Land Rover dealers will take up the helm of what Jaguar has slowly shuttered, but with how secretive theyâve been and how dramatic their few teasers and press releases have been, I can only assume this will have to be one massive last-ditch effort to recover the faltering brand before they really pull the plug.
As a longtime owner, I hope they succeed in their next iteration/era, but I also suspect that this massive rebranding and the new offerings that will come about as a result of it will price out a good number of current and previous owners who have always known Jaguar to be a bit like Volvo in terms of their quiet, understated, and elegant luxury at a more attainable price than most German and Italian counterparts - something thatâs nearly always been true throughout the history of the brand!
Well said
Easy. I want a car with no heated/cooled seats. No powered windows, no active suspension dampening system, no backup camera, no navigation or touchscreen, no adaptive cruise control. Just removing those features lowers a carâs cost by $20k
Where can I find that
I predicted this! The ZDX will be leasing for 199 month by Thanksgiving. Nobody wants to buy this and take a 30K depreciation hit in 12 months.

RE: the Jeep Gladiator not selling, it can only be because of the pricing because otherwise, it's a really nice -- and Top Dog off-road 4x4 capable -- mid-size truck. I have a 2021 (Rubicon), but if I were buying today I'd get another one. EXCEPT -- as this video says -- the outrageous pricing makes me reconsider. Still, I don't know what I could get as an alternative since I've mixed-feelings about the 2024 Chevy Colorado ZR2 (the Gladiator Rubicon's ONLY direct competition).
Still, that doesn't mean the Gladiator isn't a very nice/capable truck, either on road or on the hwy (and it can tow what I need). I've had it on several long 3-state road-trips so far and it's been as comfortable sitting-in/smooth-riding as my previous vehicle was (2016 Honda Pilot AWD) on road-trips.
As for reliability, only 3 years of ownership so far but only 2 minor issues (under warranty). Otherwise, nothing. But just in case, I DID get a Mopar 5-year Maximum Care Vehicle Protection Plan (MVP) which will take me to early 2029.
Feel better now. ;-)

I had an AMC hornet long long ago... lol
I upgraded to an eagle after that.
How's the new Pilot selling? I wish i could grab a black edition
Broke back transmissions by Honda
On Lincoln Navigator sales those were all cash deals. Or 36 month loan, nobody could be stupid enough to finance a auto of $100,000 for 72 months?
Curious if there is a threshold of sales to qualify for the list. Within a couple hundred miles of where I live, the plug-in hybrid Toyota's (Rav4 and Prius) seem to be the fastest selling with all of them sold before they are delivered. I don't know how one measures that in days.
Thanks for the great breakdown. I intend to purchase a Toyota Camry or Honda Accord when I return to the US this October. I'm hoping sales slow and prices begin to decline. Thanks again.
Chevy dealers are loading up on the NEW Equinox EV's. Only $8500 off with Federal Tax Credit & Costco.
You snuck the Dodge Hornet mention in at the end. Congrats.
Your graphic for the Navigator is actually an Aviator!
Are cars from Tesla or Rivian considered on these lists, or excluded because they dont reall follow a standard dealer model?
How is the hornet over 40k when you can get a great Mazda CX5 for under 33

5:58 "Two themes in that list, electric vehicles and Stellantis" Yet, I'll be curious to know what the Average Days Supply for the Wrangler 4XE is... Cause those seem to sell pretty well.
this is what I have said for weeks. prices are not coming down as much as people are just buying cheaper priced cars. The average selling price is lower because few people are buying > 50K cars, not because MSRP prices are dropping.
That goes for EV sales as well. 100 thousand dollar vehicles are not what most consumers are looking for.
Great stuff
$70k for a chevy EV rebadged as an Acura? No thanks.
Acura drivers as a whole.....love driving. Many Acuras have mods. Can't see any ICE acura owners buying an EV. Maybe the Vigor owners.
Some small advice, please. Do you negotiate from the OTD price or the listed price as a base? Specifically with a used car.
OTD is all that really matters in the end. Stick with YOUR OTD price, let them jungle the numbers.

100k for a lincoln navigator? ford smoking CR@CK?
EVâs = Price and Range, please look at the Range and if they donât get at least 300 + miles of range they will always sit a really long time.
Just curious, wouldn't it make more sense to track the sales, non-sales for an entire month, instead of the first 5-6 days of the month?
You should get two mikes, imo.
So Iâm in the works of buying my first vehicle all by myself. Some of the deals I have donât have a total taxes on the deal but they have the doc fees & government fees. Should I be worried or donât even think about it?
They can easily calculate your taxes using your address. It's not OTD without taxes, and tags (make sure they itemize the fees). Good luck.
I work for Honda, We can't keep cars in stock, especially the Pilot in the higher trims. Civics too. So cars at two ends of the price spectrum.
What about the lower end Passports?
It's quite funny when I watch this. We bought a 2015 Fiat 500e in 2014. It has about 70K miles on it now. Has been the best car we ever had for what it was designed for. Zipping around the neighborhood. Interestingly, we bought it because of the "ugliness is the worst form of pollution" which were so funny and our style. And why get a Nissan Leaf. The other funny point is the most recent car we have is the Alfa Romeo Tonale Veloce (which in reality is a European pimped up Dodge Hornet). We love that car as well with its looks (we have the gorgeous Verde Fangio - green color) and get lot's of comments from people. I guess the point I have, is that we would never buy a Dodge, however the Alfa Romeo has been so much fun.
How about mazda and nissan. A lot of cx50 and Pathfinder running around.
both are discount brands
Nissan trucks are decent, but their passenger vehicles and horrible. Mazda is pretty good, but you can definitely negotiate a deal on them.
A question off topic.
What can a buyer do if a dealer used the wrong oil and engine damage at 790 original miles?
At 790 miles itâs under full warranty. If the service was all done by the dealer, they canât point any fingers at you. If the dealer tries to deny your warranty, contact your states attorney generals office online and file a complaint.
I just donât want some mangled up pice of s**t! I feel a crate engine or new truck. That is how I would feel more confident in pursuing on.
The 500e might be tempting to some buyers at $14,995, as a way to get around the city. I can't imagine who might want one for $35k. And Fiat has the worst reputation for longevity in the US.
you pay you dont get
Well jesus they want both kidneys both eyes and your heart just to buy one of these damp things. And on top of it all the fees that are add. When I want to buy a new car there was over $3000 in fees including a financing and negoti. I'm self-financed so why charge me a finance fee. And WTF is an negotiation free? When they wouldn't resend the fees I got up and walk out. $75000 for a vehicle and then $7500 in sales tax, $3800 for licensing fees and then $8500 in dealership fees. No sale
In my opinion if Jeep wants to sell cars again, they need to use the V-6 Hurricane engine in the smaller models and go back to the V-8 for the bigger models , also they need to put the ICE engines back in the Trailhawk models and then fix their electrical problems because in this day and age it can't be that hard to wire a car and get the software to work, heck its probably mostly due to buying junk circuit board etc to save them money. The worst thing they ever did was make the Trailhawks 4Xe's only. Whatever higher up dum dum made that choice should have be fired immediately, unless he/she already has already been fired.
Stellantis will fold in 18 months. đ© cars and đ© reliability....... jusâsayin......
CEO of one employee company, lol
What is the market day supply for Teslas? Don't they have acres and acres of parking lots filled with cars parked in them?
No! Tesla doesn't have dealerships full of cars sitting around. They are mostly made to order vehicles and they have total control over prices. The consumer will never have good resale value for vehicles anymore.
Stellantis is going downhill & many dealers are shutting down here. GM is also headed for the toilet as CEO Mary Barra running it to the ground with this EV crap. Finally the under 15k truck Chevrolet Montana single cab unibody available in a 6 speed automatic & 5 speed manual may be available next year. They are selling well in the South America & South Africa markets & they are made in Brazil but let's hope they not make them in Mexico for the US & Canada markets as poor quality control issues there.
Car brands have lost their damn minds with all these prices. I am not buying anything not because I canât afford it but because the prices are too outrageous and excessively high
Why No Mention Of The Mazda Sales
Whatâs a dodge hornet?
You canât charge 110K for a new vehicle when there are 6 year old used examples that look identical to new selling for under 30K đ
KIAs & Hyundais may not be among the fastest- selling, BUT they're not either among the slowest-selling!!!!
42k for a Dodge hornet economy car?!?!!
Lol can't believe they even make that
Right now , is a dumb time to buy a vehicle . Ridiculous interest rates, dealer fees, poorly engineered designs , preplanned repairs⊠let them rot, on the lot . This is coming from a guy that desperately need a new truck âŠ. I can afford anything I want , however the whole vehicle situation is a train wreck on many levels .
Market day supply is not how fast the cars are selling. How many cars a month are sold is how fast they are selling
These average selling prices just blow my mind. I picked up a Jetta back in 2016 when they were selling for 12k new. Inflation & all now you can't get one for under 21k. The new ones are uglier anyway. If had to buy a new car today... I would probably get a Versa manual for 16k (never the slow unreliable cvt). If you just must have an auto because you are missing a leg, don't know how to drive, or plan to let a woman drive it... probably spend more & get the Corolla. I know it's still cvt and boring but not the type that breaks easily.
So does this translate into ... I want to buy a Camry so I should anticipate paying MSRP or more, versus lots of room for negotiating for a Dodge Hornet?
Yes, but you should still get the Camry. It'll last you through 2-3 hornets.
Even if you paid over MSRP the Camry will be worth it. But don't buy unless you can afford it. Taking out a 72+ month loan means you can't afford it.
Even if there's lots of room to negotiate, it's still a Dodge, AKA a POS that will break down all the time and be an endless money pit. You won't be able to negotiate it down to where it should be, which is like 15k. And even if you could get them that cheap, still not worth it. I'd rather have a 10 year old Toyota or Honda than a new Dodge.
What about Mazda 3 ?
I had a 2007 Mazda 3
I had a 2007 Mazda 3
Probably the best priced, most reliable, best overall compact being produced. Excellent value that will go the distance. The mazda platform is the shit. Only late model vehicle I own. My other is a super affordable, easy and cheap to self maintain 1960 Chev truck with a simple bulletproof inline 6 cylinder. All I need
Mazda's reliability is overrated, it's not comparable to Honda or Toyota. Better than Hyundai/Kia though.
when you say fastest and slowest selling, you really mean least time on the lot and most time on the lot. Fastest and slowest selling seems that it could also be how much time between each time a vehicle is sold which should really go to the largest volume sold vs least volume sold. I mean if a vehicle has 45 units sold and 1 in stock, it would be top of the list of fastest selling whereas its really just "nothing." Perhaps there could be a more meaningful number that considers both?
Definitely wasn't a navigator in the picture, that was previous generation Aviator..... just saying.
EV's will sell more if and when their battery packs become modular, like AA type batteries have.
My 2021 Tacomaâs value took a dump!
You mean going back to normal values?

It is not about EVs, it is about price, every car over $45,000 is slow selling and only cars under $35,000 are increasing in sales. Not many EVs have an MSRP under $35,000 while quite a few fossil fuel burners are priced under $35,000.
