So glad youâre going strong, havenât needed you guys in so long !
Over MSRP? You should never pay MSRP, period. What is the second word in MSRP, ..... Suggested. Yeah, let that sink in. Always negotiate below MSRP and have a percentage in mind before you start talking to a salesperson but just keep that information to yourself. If you love a vehicle there are always other options. It gets you from A to B. What options do you need in it, how many seats, how much room, do some research to see what other vehicles might check all your boxes.
What ever happened with the car market is crashing??
The dealership rather let the car go to auction before they let the consumer get a good deal.
Too many idiots out there allowing the dealers to swindle them. Do your research, set a price and DO NOT pay more! Just walk away!!!
@@Frank-JamesIâve done that more. They seem so shocked when I did that. They would ask the wife whereâs he going? She said just what he told you. đ€Ł

Toyota dealerships are asking $3k over MSRP plus all the extra fees. This is outrageous.
Don't buy a Toyota and let the tundra engine situation bite them. In the ass.
Toyota will settle but never admit fault.
Here in Dallas, new Corollas are all being sold for 3-5k over MSRP. If you try to pay straight MSRP plus fees and taxes, they tell you to go home and stop wasting their time!

15% off of MSRP that probably increases by 30% in two years
I've been watching your videos for a couple months now and wanted to say thanks for helping me get a great deal today. 24 maverick XL for 1500 under msrp and 200 under invoice. I saw how long it had been on the lot on car edge!
Listen to these guys. Don't overpay!
I am keeping my garage kept 2016 Subaru. I paid cash for it! Looks brand new.
Good show men. Thanks again.
Do not pay over MSRP. Donât pay for thousands in dealer add one or mark ups. Last year, I bought a 24 Honda HRV EXL due to lower insurance from a 23 Accord EX I wanted. I paid 29,000. MSRP. No mark ups. I bought the last one the dealer had. Show room car. Low inventory. I played hard ball. I got subverted rate of 5.9, not 9.97. My payment is 342.00. I had 8200 equity in my trade, 20 Fit EX. Plus I put 2K down. Financed 20,500 after ext warranty. My loan now is 11,800 in 10 months. Iâm paying extra principal. My fit payment was 330.00. Only 12.00 more on my new car.
What about MSRP prices that have risen over the last two years? Something listed at 50K is now 70k with the same options. MSRP creep!
wait.. Toyota Prius, Camry and Honda Civic are not in the list??? they are insanely most over MSRP that i ever seen near my area.
I think they are focusing on low end cheap cars for most part. The Camry and Prius are not in that area
There are as many cars available as prior to Covid yet prices are the highest they have ever been. Cars were much cheaper even during the extreme shortage. The greed is absolutely out of control. They have cheapened the quality of new cars all while doubling the price.

my local honda dealer still adding $4000 to most of their vehicles, wont ever buy a car from them.
I used your for only $20 and definitely went into to get my Daughter's Camry with a swagger :-)
I just bought my new Honda with a MSRP $33,000 out the door for $30,733, that's with doc fee, state tax, transfer tag fee added & $1400 subtracted for my trade in. I think I got a pretty good deal bc the Honda dealer across town wanted $34,215 out the door for the exact same MSRP $33,000 car & fees. Difference was they offered me only $500 for my trade in & they had a $1,999 add on window sticker on it & every new Honda vehicle on their lot. The dealer I bought from doesn't add a add on window sticker on any of their new Honda's unless you ask for something you want added from the accessory catalog!
I will never buy a new year model for ANY vehicle, ever. It immediately depreciates in value when you drive off the lot, and yet you'll be paying monthly notes on it as if it's retained the original value. WITH interest. Doesn't make sense to me.
@@rabd3721 That's your choice isn't it! But I'm 57 now & retired early at 55, this could be my last new car too. I kept my last car for almost 18 years to drive to & from work but now I will put an average of 5000 miles a year on the new one. I'm not worried about deprecation now because I don't trade cars that often now like I did when I was younger. This 2024 is my 14th new vehicle since my 1st new one I was given for my senior year of highschool. You keep buying your used cars in your life & I'll continue to buy only brand new ones like I have done my entire life so far. Not interested in buying something someone else decided they didn't want anymore for a reason. So deprecation really means very little to me if I'm not planning to trade anytime soon, besides my car will be paid off next summer if interest rates on CD's drop below 5% when it's time to renew a baby CD I have! I did put $10,000 down plus my trade so I'm not upside down by any means iny loan. Gotta spend my $ on something bc you can't take it with you if something happens, it's best to enjoy it while you can & a new car is enjoyable!
Most of these are justifiable by buyers - simply by the fact that even overpaying; theyâre still more affordable than the next model âupâ
Obviously, when people have a fixed amount theyâre able/willing to spend. Whether a car is at, below, or above MSRP; theyâre still going to go with that vehicle, because itâs in their budget.
Other vehicles, like the maverick as well - have really, really excellent resale value - so itâs almost impossible to be upside down if youâre getting one under $30K.
Itâs also the cheapest hybrid vehicle on the market - while also doubling as a light duty pickup.
Great vehicle, and dealers can get away charging more, cause itâs relatively underpriced, compared to similar vehicles.
Still should overpay (you can order one at MSRP from almost any reputable dealer) - but itâs probably the best sub $30k vehicle on the market for value, and residual value after 5 years.
Good gas mileage tooâŠ
Iâm surprised they didnât cover the Tahoe yet for 2024
Maverick is interesting as there is no alternative for the those not jacked up with undesired expensive options... not on the lots. Long wait for ordered. (mine will be here in a few months and I ordered early in the year.)
Mine is 2 yrs old- payed OTD good price.
I've been shopping for a new minivan and have been looking at a Kia Carnival. In the last 30 days it took a jump in price to all models where the MSRP went up by $3,000. Crazy.
Severe shortage of Siennas and Odysseys. Thatâs the real reason.
@@AnimationByDylan Siennas yes, Odysseys no. I just was at my Honda dealer and they had quite a bit of Odysseys on the lot. The Kias are fast sellers though.
Eyeing on the Land Cruiser. I can wait and not in a rush.
GMC 2500HD is a commercial vehicle so business isnt paying over MSRP
tell that to Toyota for their new land cruiser $5000-$20,000 mark up or dealers $5999 with of marked up useless junk with no resale or trade in value

I almost got a sportage hybrid 2 weeks ago, but then I was blindsided with a 15% over msrp price point. I naturally walked away.
The Sienna is practically impossible to find sitting on a car lot. There are more Land Cruisers than Siennas right now
Love your videos. I am a little confused on Paying over MRSP. I am looking at a sticker price of a new car and see MRSP, Dealer Add ons and Destination Charges. I watched your other videos on dealer add on options. What cost do you consider to be over MRSP?
It's typically indicated as a "Market Adjustment" line item with an additional cost (+$3000).
Most people have two, maybe three, dealerships near them. Hard to âwalk awayâ when none of them care if you do.
Unfortunately there isn't many options beyond the Venue, Versa, and Trax. The Versa is going away as well. I guess you could try a different dealer.
What year Corolla would you buy for limited driving. I only drive about 500 miles a month. Thanks

Question using car edge would this be the same as using a broker?
$999 for Caredge Concierge Service. Costco Auto Buying Service is same thing- and itâs 100% free.
Fake news. First glaring problem is the fact you need a Costco membership and that's not free.
You have to pay the membership fee.
And they will not save you what Caredge can do for you. Costco is a dealer friendly program, not customer friendly.
Get a Costco negotiated price FIRST... Then go to CarEdge. If the Costco price is lower... use it against CarEdge.
The dealer is charged a fee by Costco, who do you think pays it?
Wow really surprised the Maverick is still on that list. Although I know some specific builds are still hard to get.
When you say not to pay over MSRP, does that include fees, title, registration, etc?
Iâve looked at Mavs on Ford lots. All were below MSRP.
I am looking at a 2021 Mazda CX 5 Touring with 68,000 miles they want $22799. before taxes and license. And has some some scratches inside back hatch may be from a dog. I am going to start at $19200 OTD.
Sat down in my local Mazda today. Discussed a 2024 Mazda CX-5 Preferred with leather seats. MSRP from factory was $32,650. Dealership provided a MSRP âtotalâ. $32,875. Out the door price was $36,417. Ridiculous!
Does that include taxes and license?

It was just before Christmas that Hyundai Canada informed dealers there would be reduced supply to drive demand up and they were stock piling cars instead of sending them out for both the Hyundai and Kia lines. That was broke to the news anonymously by dealerships who knew it would impact Xmas sales...and now they are trying to get over MSRP, LMAO!
This is market manipulation and it should be illegal if it's not.
Capitalism doesn't work properly when builders purposely short the supply to maintain high prices.

Ford Raptor R's with the V8 are selling with a 20-25K ADM.
That's a limited production specialty vehicle. I know the feeling because I'm looking at getting the smaller Ranger Raptor and most dealers only got 1, maybe 2 allocations so a lot of dealers are asking $5-10K ADM. The dealers know anyone coming in to buy one, REALLY wants one so they are going to make you pay that high ADM. Those prices on Raptor R's won't come down until a recession hits.

We paid MSRP for our new Toyota Venza. We got a good trade. The deal was OK. Nothing special, but OK. Perhaps we would have done worse had we bought a Toyota that was NOT being discontinued like the Venza.
Are they including the upside down in the selling price of these vehicles?

How do I find the MSRP?
I have been working for a dealership for several months. I can no longer work for them. The tactics they use is unbelieveable. Misrepresentation in advertising, adding garbage like $399 for wheel locks and $200 for nitrogen. Its a scam.
So when you say donât pay more then MSRP. Does that include tax, license, transport, accessories or is it msrp plus the rest
Are u saying don't pay over msrp out the door ? Or the Msrp plus taxes and fees?
Do you mean MSRP after fees and taxes or do yo mean they raised the price of the car over msrp before fees and taxes?
When you say donât buy over MSRP, do you mean your out the door price or sale price?
Is the markup due to just the price being higher or useless accessories and add ons? It's easy to price up $1500 extra on a $21K car
My last two purtchases were honda fits. Why because they we're both inexpensive and very well designed very reliable have low maintenence cost and have incredable fuel ecconomy. I didnt finance ether they simply represented the best value for doller on an inherently depreciating asset.
Is the data skewed at all? Arenât dealers the ones that report the numbers - wouldnât it be advantageous of them to report higher sale numbers so that others report their sales being sold over MSRP only to mislead the general public that is not informed?
Who (if anyone) enforces and audits the accuracy of the numbers dealers report? I genuinely want to know. I hope Ray and Zach see this comment and dove into the legitimacy of the numbers. Thank you!
