  • Since we Dissected the new SCOR 2030 and the existing 4060 last Summer, I’d been looking forward to more 2030 time on my local trails and around Scotland. It turns out my first impressions were not wrong, with a tire swap and some further tweaking of the suspension managing to eke out a small amount of extra capability from this play-minded 120mm travel rocket ship. It’s safe to say @scor_mtb 's newest machine is seriously fun in the right scenario, but where do its capabilities tap out, and what compromises have been made to obtain its playful nature? Keep on reading or watch the review video to find out.

    I was looking at this bike. Looked very appealing. I had to replace my Commencal Meta TR. I needed a bike that was capable on the descent but very efficient on the climb and even capable for doing stage races. I went for the Trek Top Fuel 9.8 AXS T-type with the 130mm Rockshox Pike. An absolute beast and the bike to beat in this category. The Scor is just not well specked for the price.

    With up to 18” of snow expected here in Denver tomorrow and likely the day off work. I’m hoping to build my 2030 up. With all the great deals on parts I went the frame only route. Have been looking for a play focused 120 bike that I could push hard on the descents hopefully it lives up to the hype.

      How are you building it up? Hope you enjoy, fun bike for sure!

      Nice! I also wanted the frame only to build up but landed a deal on the GX version while I was on vacation in the desert southwest. I’m up by Boulder and I can’t wait to get this out more on my local trails. I was waiting for a shorter travel slack bike and this thing is incredible. It matches the same HT angle as my Cotic Solaris Max with a 140mm test has the dampened quality feel to my big enduro bike with a push and Zeb. This will be my big day Colorado bike. So stoked to have it. I’ll be curious to see how you build yours up. I already threw my WR1 wheels on this one.

    Have you tried riding the 2030 with the steeper front angle setup? I'm wondering if it makes a (big) difference

    Have you tried a setup with a 130 rear and 150 front?

    Your home trails are around Scotland? I totally thought you were based out of Bend Oregon. Nice video, I’ll check out the website. Thank you!

      Our main crew is in Bend, Robert is our UK editor and he’s from Scotland.

      I’m glad you found him! His size and riding style is similar to mine, so I feel like I can trust his evaluation more than the average biker. That being said, I assume your trails in Bend are much more similar to the trails I ride in Idaho, than any trail in Scotland.

      Thanks, so are we! We just brought him over to Bend for his annual migration. So expect to see him on some more similar terrain. Haha

      @@daveandmerlin I've been trying to persuade them! I think they're concerned they'll be too jealous of the trails once they leave.

    It’s this or the SB140. Leaning towards the Scor strictly for stress free maintenance.

      Both killer bikes, albeit with different characters.

    I guess if you want a Shimano build you need to buy as frame only.

    I'm saying this on every bike channel Prices of top end bike are WAY TOO EXPENSIVE....They're push bikes..not Motorbikes...!!!

    • @TheLoamWolf
      @TheLoamWolf  Před 2 měsíci +6

      Thankfully there's still some killer bikes for less money. We've got a sub-$2.5k group test coming up shortly, which may be more to your liking. Stay tuned.

      I agree with you these mountain bikes are way too expensive and they’re not even emtbs and I can’t justify the price of most of these bikes like just yesterday specialized released a new epic evo 8 pro or something like that but it’s 15k wtf 🤬 that’s ridiculous even with all the high end components it’s still just a bike with pedals smh 🤦‍♂️ I can see 3-4 or even 5k for a good bike but once it goes past that it’s just not worth it in my opinion but you can’t blame nobody except us the customers who excepted these prices
