Bruce Rivers is such a bad-ass…but also a really empathetic and awesome guy.
wealth
Couldn’t have said it better myself. I love Bruce.
I needed those words Bruce. I haven’t seen my mom since I was 14 and never met my dad until 16, I have been alone in the world other than my relationships since I can remember when, the woman I thought I was gunna marry just broke up with me (she has her reasons, and it’s fair) but I feel so broken and lost and scared in the world for the first time in so long again. Those words really did help me put things back into perspective. Once I get the $ saved up I’m packing my truck and driving back to my hometown where I have my friends and starting fresh
I usually leave really snarky comments. Not here. Best.
Keep going and good luck.
Good luck to you and may you find love and happiness! 💜
There’s always a light at the end of the tunnel, don’t forget that. Keep pushing
Man I’m in a pretty similar situation. I’ve got to say it’s scary but the love and support of people who have known you your whole life (even if you’ve been gone for a bit) is so much different than the relationships you form later in life. There’s no way to define it but it’s very much a powerful bond that shouldn’t be thrown away so easily like I did when I was 18 and left without looking back. I’m 28 now 29 in about 2 weeks and after 10 years of hardly coming around the love and support here is unlike anything I’ve felt or remember feeling but at the same time it’s so familiar and comforting.
If you had told me 15 years ago that Steve-O would get sober (and do some wildlife activism along the way), and Bam would be on the run after all kinds of actual shadiness, I would not have believed you. Sometimes it be like that.
In retrospect, knowing what I know now about mental health, its makes sense.
And Brandon Novak is completely sober and living a great life. When bam used to give him shit every single day for being a heroin addict.
@@justinjauernig8675alcohol is the hardest drug to quit and the only one that can kill you if you stop it cold
Steve-O I recount in many of his tales on video that when going through rehab dozens of highly trained prof’s doubted he would make it out from all he did and his addiction.
Some weird stuff can happen in 15 years. If i were told 15 years ago that Boris Johnson and Donal Trump would lead the UK AND USA i would have laughed in your face!
As someone who struggled with addiction for 2 decades I feel for his struggle but unless he cleans up I worry about his future. So many people think life is boring without substances and they end up dead. Getting clean was the best decision I ever made
Yes, baybeeee! Keep it up, girlfriend!! Proud of u!
That's awesome I'm happy for you, and I agree that getting clean is ultimately a great decision, I definitely have a better life now that I'm sober. However getting sober for people that were serious addicts/alcoholics is extremely difficult and the success rate is shockingly low. I just wish Steve-O and the rest of the jackass crew were a little more understanding. Just because Steve-O hit rock bottom and and got lucky being able to get out of his own addiction pretty smoothly, doesn't mean he should give up on and put down one of his supposed best friends who is having a tougher time getting over his addiction. Seems like Steve-O has forgotten what it's like to be truly addicted and how recovery works. Relapse is a natural part of recovery, it happens, but it's what you do with that relapse that matters. Will you go back out and stay fucked up for another year, or will you attempt to move forward and put it down the day after it happens. Having encouragement can often be the deciding factor for which path is taken.
@@BeanCasserole-wg7wu You're so right.
Being addicted is not about life being boring without drugs.
It's that you fill some emotional need of yours with drugs and when you get clean you have to work to fill that emotional need and depending on when you started doing drugs you might never have learned how to be a "normal" human being in the first place. Getting clean is easy staying clean is very hard when your impulse to any uncomfortable emotion is to use some substance.
Unfortunately it's not a decision he seems to want to make .
As someone who had addiction problems most of my life I’m so grateful I got clean. Four years ago in January my wife left with my son. I woke up January first in jail. Got out my wife had left with my son. Had a court case now and a crippling drug addiction. Went to rehab got court case handled and now I live in a beautiful nice house with my wife and son. Luckily he was too young to remember I was ever gone. My wife is the best person I know and idk what I’d do without her. Sometimes it feels like changing is impossible but it really is just one step at a time. I’ve accomplished more in the last four years, during a damn pandemic than I ever imagined possible. I work for myself (legally) and get to spend as much time with my son as a father possibly could. Tomorrow on a Tuesday I get to go hiking with my wife and son. Five years ago I would have been running around finessing my way into a bag. Life is wild. Hope Bam gets help. I’ve got more dead friends than my parents and I’m only 29. It happens way too often these days.
Great for your family members.🙏❤️
Well done turning life around as an elderly lady with a daughter who hasn’t always been easy ! wrong crowd, is now grown up and I’m so proud of her you should be of yourself can’t have been easy! ♥️🏴 England

I'm 40 yrs old. I grew up watching cky and jackass. This is so sad. I've had many friends lost to drugs and unchecked mental health. We are going to lose bam, sadly.
I'm 32. Grew up on cky2k. Sadly, you are correct
@@nicolasbaker9601 what's even more sad is almost all the comments I've read on all the different entities covering this story are mostly the same. While everyone hopes for the best; we're all expecting the worst.
I'll say now I will seriously be really sad if bam doesn't make it. I hope he jist turns himself in and sorts his shit out already
I think he was NOT fully informed on this. His family took away his freedom for many years and had him locked in a conservatorship. His family has control of his money and they all live off of him.
His baby's mama uses the child to manipulate him and had him locked up against his will in rehabs for years not allowing him to see his son and using his son to bait him.
Yes he has mental health and substance abuse issues, BUT THAT DOES NOT MEAN THAT WHAT HIS FAMILY HAS DONE IS ALRIGHT!! HIS BROTHER WAS LIVING IN HIS HOUSE WHILE HE WAS PUT IN A CONSERVATORSHIP AND PUT IN THE FLORIDA SHUFFLE FOE YEARS.
His family abused the legal system and authorities to have him repeatedly captured and held against his will while they had access to all his homes and money.
I usually love this channel, but he really 💩 the 🛏️ on this one. Bam has been forced to live on the run already due to his family. Watch That Surprise Witness or BJ Investigates on CZcams. She was an attorney with an Ivy League education and she has all the receipts including police bodycam footage to show the games his family plays against him.
I hate to agree but he's not well.
I hate to say it, but there’s a very very good chance that Bam’s story will not have a happy ending.
The eSign examples are the best part of these videos... 😂
Living in his Mum's basement, wearing Cheetos-stained underwear...cracks me up every time 😂😂😂💖💖💖
Appreciate the compassion for him Bruce!
My older brother is severely mentally ill and was neglected as a child, he's had a laundry list of run-ins with the law, mostly threats in the midst of severe manic/schizophrenic/drug and alcohol-induced incidents. The only reason he's been kept out of jail is that the judges know he's a injured veteran and they send him to Veteran Psych Wards. You were so right about unwell people catastrophizing their situations, he's done that his whole life about the wild crap my brother gets himself into. I'm very worried about how this ends for Bam!

@@Jamienc we really need to stop making excuses for him. We all loved cky, he was a huge part of jackass, viva la bam was hilarious but he's been a train wreck for years now and people keep giving him passes, this story is going to end horribly unless he makes drastic changes NOW. Honestly they best thing that could happen to him is get arrested and be forced to detox in a prison. Which is a horrible horrible experience but at least for once hell be sober and be able to think clearly. As long as he's on his own recognizance he will keep destroying his life
I could never get over the way he spoke to and treated people, especially his family, while cameras were rolling
You mean his job
It was really funny until we found out it was really real.
You could tell it was real by how pissed and defeated his parents were in those movies. They knew they raised a demon
@GG-Bogllin A reality TV job involving his actual family though
It was his job and his dad is the one who actually filmed all his stuff before the show.
You can tell Bruce has a good heart - just a genuinely decent human being.
He's been doing this for years and I keep rooting for him but each time this happens, it's like... I'm less hopeful this man will live to 50.
You should write a No Self Snitching for Dummies book! I bet that book would sell good.
There's a lot of people out there who put out positive videos, and a lot of them are genuine. For some reason Bruce feels more genuine, like he's talking DIRECTLY TO ME. Thanks B&M
BAM self destructing
As an addict in recovery I can’t imagine the wreckage I would have created if I had that amount of prestige and wealth. Now I’m privileged to be a member of my state bar helping low income litigants. Bam has the potential to help a lot of people and do a lot of good if he gets clean and stays on the right track.
But for the grace of god there go I
thanks for all the uploads! love the content!
Now I'm getting news headlines from Bruce Rivers
He's had legal problems from a long time and I'm tired of people excusing his behavior from the death of Ryan Dunn! He was a mess before he died.
You put it well by going over his long history of issues. That's important and many people are forgetting that.
He was? I only knew of him being fine till his friend past away. Maybe it only escalated it
@@vincenzovieri3743 Oh, he's been on the sauce and other stuff way before this happened.
Well said. Bam was a jerk long before Dunn, and I rooted for him to get sober for years. I'm tired of his antics though, and while I still hope he gets sober, it's only cause I feel bad for his family and especially his son. He's a selfish jerk, and my days of caring are long gone.

These exact words coulda been said of novak and steve-o only a while ago

A savior? That's a bit much. People have been saying "hopefully he gets the help he needs" for 20 years.
His “family and friends” had no problem being humiliated by him on tv when the money started rolling in. They don’t want Bam to be captured out of care and compassion, their greed and need for control is taking over. This shit warrant they put out is meant to punish him, using the system for their benefit. Sickening
I love this take. Great video. You’re great at giving advice and having empathy!
I agree
I've been scared for Bam ever since this whole thing started with him. I hope it doesn't go anymore south than it already has.
Oh shit, I aint heard about Bam in awhile but when I do its always bad, I was really hoping he would end up in a better place over time
Bam's biggest problem is his ego. He's just delusional and he's trapped in the past. Any time he does get remotely sober, he acts like he's just going to be a pro skater again. He's in his 40s and he's half way to having Phil's body type now. He literally just can't physically skate like he could when he was younger, and his body doesn't take the physical abuse as well any more. so as soon as he hurts himself skating, he's in pain and he has to know deep down that he's just not going to skate again professionally. Being in a situation like that for a guy like Bam is basically just a recipe for a reason to get high. Phil and April probably shouldn't have been so lenient with him when he was younger. I don't blame them though, it's obvious they were trying to do the best they could with an extremely unique family situation. it has to be hard to tell your kid to grow up and stop being a prick when he bought your house and pays your bills.
Bam could honestly probably make a good living in the skating industry in some way, if he got his shit together, but it isn't going to be as a skater. He can't deal with that.
He could still skate well, if he lost weight. And become a skate coach, or skate videographer, i wish he would get better
During the show in the early 2000 didn't his mom work? I'm sure they pay their own bills
He could also get his head out his ass since he’s a 40 year old man and realize that skateboarding isn’t going to do shit for him
You are missing the point severely. His delusion comes from mental illness from drug use and depression, not ego. Let's hope you aren't a Psych major
@@gw3485. yeah I agree with you, he is acting as if Bam isn’t addicted, it’s more than ego thing, it’s a mental illness. Ego and money are a terrible mix tho too. So I agree with both of you guys,

I apperciate your content! This video was amazing and Great advice in the beginning intro!

As soon as I saw his pic I thought "DAMN he got fat and old!!" I ain't exactly clean livin', but damn...
I HIGHLY recommend "that Suprise Witness"! She's been following Bam for years and yesterday, she uploaded the first hour of a 3 part interview with Bam!
The timeliness of this video being posted is perfection
He was just too spoiled as a kid and was able to do whatever he wanted. Then he got famous off that. And this is what we get. I understand Dunn was his childhood best friend but he wouldn’t want to see Bam like this. Steve-O is doing better than all of the cast in my opinion. I got clean and sober without the 12 steps but I definitely don’t knock on people who did. If this isn’t his rock bottom then idk what is and I’m scared to see it if it’s anything worse than this.
I lived in West Chester/was an undergrad there when he was filming some iteration of 'Jackass' and he was out. of. control. back then. He'd constantly be walking around by his bar, The Note, dressed like Gene Wilder in 'Willy Wonka' while blitzed out and also got banned off campus for pulling a stunt in the South Campus pool my freshman year. Also sadly remember Dunn's crash. I lived nearby at the time and was heading home on Rte 322 after playing a late gig when it happened. This was before smartphones and I remember calling my now ex- on a flip phone to tell her I'd be home even later because of a nasty car crash that was in flames blocking the highway. There's literally no alternate way off of 322 where he and his buddy died and it was probably after 3am. Didn't even know who it was until at least the next day. That crash was absolutely horrific and messed me up for a while. Highly rec therapy!
It's a really sad situation and his whole family has issues. His uncle was on Megan's Law when he died a few years ago, if i remember correctly. Hopefully he's able to get help. Just brings me back to undergrad days when Bam's in the news. The joke about West Chester is you go down/in High and come out Gay, a pun on the Rte 3 One Ways going in and out of town. As a proud queer that lived there for over a decade, it's still hilarious.

Damn, it’s so sad what happened to Bam. He just has never been able to recover from Ryan dying.
Yep. I think so, too.
He was an asshole egomaniac drunk drug addict long before Ryan's death. I'm not trying to be a dick but that's just the truth.
He was already a mess way before Dunn died. That excuse is getting old.
@@warrensmith5487 that’s not true. Yes, he drank to excess, that’s about it, but you can see the change in him once Dunn died. You can believe what you want, but the truth of the matter is that the spiral into decent and not being able to let go of Dunn, who he considered more of a brother than Jesse, is all documented, the good part of recording your whole life, I guess.
Excellent commentary!!!!

Same. I live in West Chester and am friends with his younger brother. Bam has always been a jerk, and my days off on feeling bad for him are long gone. I hope he gets better cause his family are good-hearted people and his son deserves a Dad. And I'm an addict, the worst kind so I sympathize, but eventually my parents, family and friends got sick of me too. I love all your videos and really appreciate all of your insights. Also, proudly wear my hat when the opportunity comes up.
I think an interesting topic one day might be your thoughts on how some entertainers are able to build while others get sucked into the worst of things. Is it by surrounding themselves with people they can't trust and if so, what do you do to build a set of people around you that aren't going to pull you down? Alternatively, is it perhaps that some people just aren't made of the right stuff and just breakdown once the challenges of life at that high of a level hit them hard?
This poor guy has literally been locked up for 18months in multiple rehabs by force and through removing his human rights, and he just found out all the crap his family were lying to him about and he was given evidence of the lies too so hes probably so hurt and also angry and may even feel so powerless - but Bam if you see this, ask yourself what would That Suprise Witness advise you to do?
I’m working on a startup company and use e-sign now because of this channel

2 videos in a day!! Way to go !!!!!!!
Your empathy here is very touching.
We need the Nate Diaz street fight and warrant video
Hard to feel bad for a guy who has never been told no his entire life. Bam represents nostalgia for a lot of those (including me) who grew up watching him. This makes it hard for people to look objectively at him, and the behavior is somewhat excused.
He really has no excuse at this point. He has the people and resources to find help. He’s grown up extremely privileged - envied by many people, had basically no rules, and money for days because of it. On top of the shows he was a pro skater! Wild. His current life has only been made shitty by his choices. He had it all and could’ve been smart.
Honestly though - what did we expect from this group of guys? It’s why we are surprised someone like Steve-O is doing so well now. All that stuff is funny when you’re 20, but middle age comes for most of us. We are witnessing the consequences of growing up how Bam did.
Nothing but gems. God Bless Bruce and Michael Rivers

Take a deep breath. Come home. Apologize and drop the charges
Only solution BUT some states the DA will prosecute anyway. Once any involved in the case are just threatened with jail for contempt etc almost all cooperate. Probably best to open his eyes. Bam is used to not being held accountable.

It'd be a good idea for Bam to get a hold of Bruce Rivers on this one! Though great advice Bruce gave for anyone in a similar predicament. 🙏🏾
Great advice
Part of the reason he is raging is bc he has been kept in rehabs against his will by family and questionable staff. I'd guess he's hurt, scared, angry, etc...add addiction and feeling like his family betrayed him, it's a bad situation all around. He just did an interview with bj last week about it all and how he was shuffled for a year and a half from rehab to rehab.
Was coming to mention this.... His family enlisted the help of a highly questionable "guardian" who many people believed to be responsible for at least one person's untimely demise within a shady rehab system, against their will. They lied, manipulated, and set him up repeatedly to get him Baker acted over and over. The only thing I can say I know for sure about addiction is if a person is not ready for recovery yet, it makes them worse off to be pushed and pulled into similar treatment facilities, over and over against their free will. That can be just as dangerous for that individual (and their relationship with their loved ones involved) as straight up enabling.
They just pushed him back into the system over and over, for what? I think it's eleven times in a row, they moved him from one to another of those 90 day rehab stays in Florida. Even though it's guardianship that was set up in Arizona... And he lives in Pennsylvania. & The guardian lives in Chicago and California.
That situation would drive the most stable person nuts. For a person like him who cannot handle their feelings and stress, it's not helpful to use that guys money to pay a questionable woman whose claim to fame is "saving" her now missing sisters, yeah, paying her to trap that person in the Florida shuffle is not a loving plan that was created by someone who wants to prioritize his well-being.
I'm sincerely worried for him 😢
@Mary Supernova exactly, you explained better than I was capable of late last night when I left my comment as I was in the middle of the referenced interview from last week that went live a few hours before this turn with Jess. April, Nikki and Lima need to accept that as much as it sucks there is no way to get someone who doesn't want it sober, but the kick backs for shuffling him from rehab to rehab to rehab are too tempting. The breakdown of what they've done to him (bc the system is built to work this way to imprison ppl and bill insurance endlessly) is sickening. Doesn't make what he's done OK but it definitely makes it understandable when you know Jess has been aggressive and threatening himself to fans supporting #freebam
I can’t help but wonder if this entire situation was fabricated or grossly embellished because he shared his truth on BJ Investigates. The timing is uncanny.
I was scrolling through searching for a comment on this and I'm disappointed on how long it took me to find this one.
I'm honestly saddened by at least half of the posts I've read here that have more likes than this one. People are really out here saying he should be put in rehab for the rest of his life and that notion disgusts me.
@Natasha C considering Jess and Bj have already had exchanges and he's tried to intimidate her, it's either fabricated/blown up by the family to reinforce the idea to the public that he should be forced into a rehab again or the interviews and what she's knew lit a rage and he legit went to confront his brother for his part in what April, Nikki and Lima have done. Either way, he doesn't want sober and rehabbing him, taking away his rights that way, is not OK. If he does something illegal, arrest him by all means but I don't know any case where forced sobriety stuck. Additionally they could be putting him at greater risk with the rehabs bc he could try to go back to using at his familiar pre-rehab levels and his cleaned out, post-rehab body could OD. There's no good angle here until he decides he wants something to change and the people around him support him how he needs, not how they feel they should.
CTE I'm willing to bet
this is the exact reason why knoxville and steve-o didnt let bam get back into the jackass crew
even steve-o managed to get sober, but bam
Free Bam! Facts ain't defamation!
Bruce: “let’s just hope and pray that he comes out of this and gets it taken care of”
The comment section: “what an arrogant idiot, he’s always been spoiled, he’s probably gonna die!”
I'm mostly here for the eSign ad read. Always gold.
Thanks for your caring advise.
This is what happens when a little boy grows up never getting disciplined or hearing the word "NO" from his parents. If he is still acting like an a-hole and not thinking of his own son, then he's just selfish and self-centered. News flash to all man-children out there "It's not all about you!!!"
You obviously no nothing about the true situation. Go watch that suprise witness and interview that Bam did that came out today on bj investigates
Yess!! Bam is a mess... but he is the victim of his family.
Watch BJ investigates (also a lawyer)... he is almost the unlikeable version of Britney Spears (conservatorship etc.)
Hi Bruce. Thanks for another interesting video. I hope your advice helps those people that are in that situation. BTY. I appreciate your clothing choices..you always ok so sharp!!
*look
I just watched BJ Investigates’ interview with him from earlier today
Today is the 5th anniversary of a dear friend's suicide. Don't do it!! It's temporary. Everything can be worked out. I promise you.... 😢❤ you are loved more than you know....
