- As simple as it may look, most people have difficulty removing/replacing their factory automatic shift knobs. I've had my fair share of pain in discovering this and most youtube videos or directions would lead you to more questions. I find that doing it yourself in your car would be the best way to tackle his as it might be slightly different from the others.
In this short video, I will show you how I removed mine in the most detailed and step-by-step walkthrough I can.
The goal of this channel is to help you work on your own car and at the same time to enable you to get to know more about your car as well. Being able to do these simple things to your car would not only be satisfying but also save you a couple of dollars/Ph Peso/Yen ( where ever you are from) and who would not want that, right?
I am by all means no mechanic, but I have been working on cars (may it be my cars throughout the years, my family's cars or friends and clients) for a long time now and I wanted to be able to share to you all the things that I know, various tips and tricks and DIYs to help you do yours. This drive is what made me do this channel in the first place.
I hope it helps and keep on the lookout for more content from the channel :)
Thank you!

este es un video muy practico, te lleva de la mano, muy buen trabajo bro.... gracias!!!
De nada bro.. gracias por ver 👍👍
Man i can twist the silver part nut it wil not pull down
I can’t get the leather tip off , any tips or something holding the clips?
It should pull right up. Try doing small twists on it to loosen anything that might be getting caught with the pulling motion.
It is possible to switch that from PRNDL to PRND-+ in a ES?
Im not so sure if its about that shifter assembly it self. But i guess it would work if you have the part for it. Tho i would suggest just looking for paddle shifters for your PRNDL layout as it is plug and play and the paddle shifters will let you row thru the gears in your PRNDL layout

this might be what you are looking for
Any recommendations for an aftermarket knob?
for cheap, I may suggest getting the Ralliart copy ones specifically for the Lancer Ex as they bolt right in but if you want a wider range to choose from, you might want to get an adapter to fit most shift knobs.
I would do a video on that soon wherein I would install an adapter plus a cheap yet good looking carbon fiber shift knob that looks 🔥🔥🔥 🤣
@@manongsamurai5448 thanks for the response, would I need an adapter?
For those that are fit for the lancer specifically, you wont need one anymore since it already has the threads to keep it in place
But for the universal ones or other kinds of shift knobs you would need an adapter just search for " threaded shift adapter" the one that has threaded screws to hold it in place so you can screw the shift knob of your choice at its top. Usually cost around $5- $12
@@manongsamurai5448 ok awesome thanks for the info
It suck it's not easy like that.
Thats what i thought too when I was doing this. But you just have to keep trying and just work around it. Maybe it differs from lancer units but you'll eventually get it.
