This is exactly how my mom made them and taught me. My parents are Polish immigrants. I was born in Chicago and we have a ton of Polish deli’s and stores so we don’t have a shortage of Polish food here. I’m proud to be Polish! Smacznego!
I am married to a Pole. Yeh this recipe is tops for my family We have three kids and they love polish cuisine
Thank you
Our pleasure!
Since in UK live many Poles you can hear at Sunday afternoon rythmical banging of mallets in residential areas. Obviously they prepare pork loin or chicken breast for dinner.
I am a third generation Pole on both sides of my family! My great grandparents barely spoke English and my grandparents sounded very accented. Watching your videos is like being back in the kitchen with my ciocias and babcias. Thank you so much! ❤️
Just made my first zupa Ogórkowa, I am so proud of myself... naturally, none of my kids agreed to taste it, well, more for me.
Greetings from Israel
Israel its another state of USA but just in different part of world
@@adrianadrian7672 what is your point?
I'm so happy you feature these kinds of videos on traditional foods. I have said it many times, but I am proud that we Central/East Europeans have the best gastronomies bar none. Yes, I know there are many who would argue we have 'fattening' foods/recipes; I think they grew up on ramen noodles and microwaves, and don't know real foods for what they truly are. A nutritious art, and skill in cooking.
Bulka tarta.
Greetings from Saint Paul, Minnesota! This was a very popular dinner when I was growing up. Grandma would make piles of those pork chops. In fact, I didn't know that there were other ways to make pork chops until I grew up and went away to school!
I LOVE your videos! I feel like not enough people watch and apprecite your channel and polish cuisine! I'm just starting to dip my feet into this whole new world since my boyfriend is Polish (I'm Costa Rican) but I am loving it so far!
Keep it up!
Thank you and good luck ;)
I remember my husband yelling, "What are you doing?", the first time I made them for him. He loved them.
I have had this pork chop dish at Krackovia in New Britain ct. After you order, you hear them pounding it in the kitchen. It was fantastic!!!
I fry mine in bacon grease that i save..My mama made the salad...I haven't thought of that salad in years. Gonna have to make it now
omg.... haven't had breaded pork in years, Mom would make it often..... here in Dallas Tx, its chicken fried steak, everywhere......sure do miss the Pork..... going to have to do it soon.....
I would definitely need horseradish with that pork. Looks delicious.
Will definitely make this menu Anna 😋. Thank you! love ❤️
Thx
I can smell and taste it all. Lovely.
Made it for dinner tonight. The husband said Mmmmmm after taking his first bite! Thanks Anna! ; )
Can't wait to make this dish. It looks delicious . Ty for sharing.
Hope you enjoy
I just made this whole dinner and it was PERFECT. I think my Polish grandparents would have been proud. Dziękuję, Anna!
Love your video sand great tips. Everything looks so delicious
Love your videos. Love to see the traditional foods made in real time.
Glad you like them! Thanks for watching!
JUST THE BEST. LOVE IT
So glad I’ve found this channel. Thank you
When I was in Poland the Sunday dinner was soup from Kogut resol
I have never seen this dish, but it looks delicious. Tell Hubby that a piece of 2x4 works good to pound meat also . Mike
My mom.never made..as I can remember but I will. Sounds great
i like that pierogi maker lmao
Looks delicious 😋
Yum!
The dish sounds and looks absolutely delicious, but I LOVE the grater you are using.
I'm going to make a birthday luncheon for my ciocia and cousin and the pork cutlets will go great with the potato pancakes I plan on making them. Smacnego!
Greetings from Ireland (of all places). I am reminded of this as "pork cutlet" sandwiches which I haven't made in a very long time. I'll have to start making them again.
I just subscribed to your channel. Love your cooking. I just ordered an apron for my Aunt.
Awesome! Thank you!
YUM, YUM😊
I am making schabowe today and I learned at least 2 things from your video (I've been making these for years) - definitely going to use the 2 forks method for ALL my breading. I also didn't remember the word "panierka" so I learned a new Polish word! I'm not sure if grandma ever called breading that, but I was very young so I might have forgotten it. I might try to make my own kapusta kiszona so I'll have to look at your recipe! Thank you!
Awesome!! I plan on making a video about home-made sauerkraut in the next few weeks, but it's really easy and I'm sure you can handle it. :)
@@PolishYourKitchen Oh yes. I purchased a Polish crock a few years back, and have made homemade kraut. Absolutely the only way to make sauerkraut dishes. Thank you for your videos.
We just had some the other day, my wife had her sister and husband over. She made the pork chops and potatoes and I made sweet and sour cabbage which was popular in Polonia in Buffalo N.Y. , This was a favorite Sunday dinner at our home when I was a child, ahh.............the memories thank you for sharing yours with all of us. I must try your version of the sauerkraut slaw it looks so tasteful. My mother's recipe started cooking onion first in some bacon fat, then cabbage, apple, vinegar and sugar and it was cooked slowly for about 30 minutes and stirred a lot.
Thank you for sharing your memories with us! Food is such a powerful force in our lives, it's why I want to share with you all. Thanks for watching!
moj ulubiony zestaw ale z kapustą zasmażaną
Hello I like your channel a lot. I am 3rd generation polish my grandmother is from Olsztyn. I wanted to ask if you new of a recipe for an apple cake it has a layer of dough on bottom with a can or two of apple filling covered with a layer of meringue made with egg whites and sugar then the remaining dough is grated on the top? I had this in Poland and would love to make it, it’s delicious 😋 thank you for any help !!
Coffee of Hawaii? Where on earth did you get that? Started watching you very recently so sorry for the late response. But I hope you will see my question. We live on the Big Island and I would love to hear your reply. Thank you for your great channel, Anna
Ohh Anna your evil. I’m moving right now and I’m playing your channel in the background, damn frying pan and pots already moved to the new place. Luckily I have a bottle of zubrowka to use as a meat hammer and since there are super cheep in price and quality pots and pans at the dollar store I’m off shopping. You pretty much made-up my mind up as to what I’m having for dinner. Everything you make/cook takes me back 30-35 years back to babcja’s house. Today May 4th 2021 this video was destined as it just happens my parents visited and mamusja brought me 6 jars of smalec she often makes. in my opinion it’s almost a crime to fry schabowe with out smalec. You are an angel Anna.
Thank you Greg, that makes my heart sing!
Looks wonderful!! I was wondering if you rinsed the sauerkraut then you mentioned you did not. Thanks I never ever would think to make a salad from sauerkraut! 👍 Also do you know anything about sauerkraut mad with some kind of a fat and cooked for a long time? My friends mom who was Polish, used to make it years ago it was so good. I would love to know how to make it!
I'm not quite sure about the sauerkraut made with fat, but a wonderful dish made with sauerkraut that we add fatty meats and sausages to is called bigos. Stay tuned for the recipe!
@@PolishYourKitchen thanks sounds good.
I love that grater! What brand is it?
Ikea :)
All that needs is some applesauce yummy
Love your cooking. Could you tell me where you got your one burner cook top? And the makers name? Thank you.
Marlene, thanks for watching! As far as the stove goes it’s just a generic camping stove. 😊
🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
I make it often. But have never made that type of slaw.
Dzien dobry! Where can I get that pierogie maker apron that you are wearing?
We have a merchandise store on our website www.polishyourkitchen.com/t-shirt-shop/#!/ Thanks for watching!
What kind of bread crumbs do you use (stale, seasoned or plain from the market, Panko or your own)?
My own, if I have some. Plain otherwise.
And another fun fact: Polish (as well as many other CEE recipes, like Czechoslovak, Russian, etc.) dishes often make me feel eerily familiar. And I have no actual Slavic/Eastern European root at all. In fact I'm fully Asian, from China. (From Shanghai to be exact). And I think it's because there's a genre of dishes in Shanghai called Haipai, which would probably mean 'Shanghainese styled western dish' most literally. (It's sort of using the double meaning of the Chinese character 'Hai' I think. On one hand it means 'sea', so probably meaning the 'overseas' influence of those dishes. On the other hand hopefully u see that it's part of the name of the city, Shang Hai). As China eventually opens up to trade with the world and ppl getting a lot more money, especially in Shanghai as it's the largest economic center of the country, I think most ppl are now favoring more 'authentic western' flavors, such as some 'real high end' cuisines (cough, cough, I'm referring to you, yes, the French. And in some ways the British too. 'Queen's sytle' though of course, not fish & chips XD), as well as big American chains, and increasingly, ppl know how to make them as well, from pasta to burgers. However in this Haipai Shanghainese western food, Eastern European ones stood out as one of the only things left and still widely popular (and even deeply ingrained into many of the household cooking), such as the Shanghainese/Chinese Borscht (mostly like Ukraine Borscht but used tomatoes and tomato products, like ketchup instead of sour cream & beets/beet juice to give the reddish color & sour flavor, and occasionally & traditionally, used flour/starch & water technique to make it thicker), as well as, no other than this (deep) fried pork chop dish. One variation is that we like to dip with Worcestershire sauce. (Which I highly recommend as it's delicious. If I remembered correctly the famous A1 steak sauce is sort of similar to Worcestershire sauce so if ppl enjoy steak with their A1s u definitely see u can enjoy pork cutlets with Worcesters!)
;-) I do cutlets ;-)
Hi Anna, Where did you get that shredder? John
I got it at Ikea.
@@PolishYourKitchen Thanks, Anna
Meat as main dish, only carbs are potatoes and apples, no enriched carb 'staples' like rice & noodles? Sounds like a keto paradise haha!!!
(Grand)kid: I decided to go keto! May we go get some keto food?
Polish Babic: Yes. But we already have them at home
Keto dinner at home:
We call it tenderize ,
oh kurwa ale polskie danie.
why put a apple my folks never put a apple in it
Do you not yet know the value of fat in your diet??
Looks delicious 😋
