    He is spot on about Regals, have an 02 GS. Bought it with a blown engine. First thing I did was a new long block from Summit racing and a 3" cat back and the new ZZP full size IC. Ported the SC and threw on ZZP full header setup and fender well CAI. 3.0 pulley with 42 lb injectors Yella Terra 1.8 roller rockers and lifters. Had it tune to get every inch out of it and now its a 12 second car on street tires. Ran it 3 times in the 1/4 mile and beat a 440 GTX, and 396 Chevelle twice best time was 12.9 on a cool night with 100 octane race gas

    I've had an 07 Grand Prix GT/SC for 10 years now. I'm running a CAI, zzp power logs 3in catless DP, and 3.6 pulley. Where I'm at there's only 1 gas station that has e85 but I've been running 1 gallon of e85 and then topping it off with 93 octane and it drives like a wet dream! Even in cold weather the 1 gallon of e85 doesn't affect driveability at all.
    Edit: I've also got a tuned ECU from overkill motorsports (IDK if they're even still around anymore)

    • @ninjaryohazuka
      @ninjaryohazuka Před 4 lety

      You don't need a turbo or a rebuilt transmission to get 300 WHP. I've researched this for months because I really want to supercharge my L36.
      Ultimately, you will require some basic bolt-ons and a tune. There are some small mods you can do to help, also. Increase the airflow with things like a cold air intake, ported throttle body, front power-log, down-pipe (some people go with a u-bend delete), and many others, and ZZP sells all these parts. They only sell performance parts, so you can definitely get 300 if you want. I'm shooting to have about that much before this year ends.

    • @civicsr2cool
      @civicsr2cool Před 4 lety +2

      Michael Blue I think you might need to research more. 300 WHEEL horsepower with a blower is going to cost stupid money and be a timebomb. Turbo is really the only way to go. Stock tranny won’t last on the stock 200hp either, 300+ eats um up fast lol

    • @ninjaryohazuka
      @ninjaryohazuka Před 4 lety +2

      @@civicsr2cool Not really. A stock L67 has about 200 WHP. Sure, a turbo is more efficient and will produce more power with the same amount of boost. If you want to make big power, then it is the way to go. You can easily do 400+ with one, but I actually have an article from from GM EFI (who used certain things I mentioned in my 1st comment) claiming to boost a 2000 Buick Regal GS (which has a supercharged 3.8/L67) from a baseline Dyno run of 215 WHP to about 270 WHP with Dyno sheets and 1/4 mile ET.

Also 96-99 Lesabre/88/ssei Weighs less than ALL 2000+ CARS. No one talks about that either. Also 96-99 H bodies are by far the easiest to work on. No one talks about that. W bodies take 2x the TIME to work on than H bodies. No one here says that. You can pull the motor out of a 3350Lb 98 lesabre in 1 HOUR. Try that on a Grand Prix. it takes 3x the time.

    i saw the testing done with an intercooler and it simply does not work. the dyno shows a + or - of 1 HP with and without an intercooler... the theory is the intercooler is a restriction to airflow. your money is better spent elsewhere.

    • @boosted0079
      @boosted0079 Před 2 lety

      Then you "watched" a very horrible test. I would be very curious as to where you seen this test. There's visual testing available right here on CZcams where Richard Holdner himself did controlled testing with the 3800, with and without the intercooler.
      Intercooling is by far the best mod that can be done to any boosted application. You don't just toss an intercooler on and expect the engine to make more power. It's not a "power adder". It's a supporting mod that requires tuning to take advantage of it's benefits. Which if you watched some test done, tuning was never done.
      These types of intercoolers do create a tiny bit of restriction, but as the air becomes cooled, it also becomes more dense. Then you can raise boost, and add timing advance(which is the biggest key) to create more power.

  • @apacheone3643
    @apacheone3643 Před 2 lety

    The only thing I agree with is the high octane fuel but you have NO CLUE HOW FUEL IS DISTRIBUTED TO FUEL STATIONS!! Secondly I am running 12 Pounds max of boost for 20 years on 92 octane.Again you really have no idea what you are talking about. Intercooler I agree should be done in excess of 12 psi secondly when cooling the air your pressure will drop as you are cooling the air. Exhaust size needs to be increased make that engine breath.

    BP? No! They water their fuel down.

    I like how he thinks there are actually different tier fuels. It's been proven the gas in joe blow's pumps are the same as shell for example.

      The gas is the same but its the refrinies that's the difference. Example Shell adds more detergent than most other refrinies

    Just put a smaller pulley on. As long as you have more fuel pressure than boost you'll be good. Obviously more boost is going to bring down the integrity of parts but if you're putting a smaller pulley on your know it's not going to last forever

      Or, you can do it the right way with increasing the efficiency of the engine and keeping the blower in its proper wheel house. Just dropping a pulley size without doing other mods is a fast way to chip a piston or blow it up.....
      Efficiency > m90 boost numbers. Smallest pulley possible =/= fastest setup
