- In this video series, I will be building a new Elysium Custom guitar. This guitar is based off of an LP Jr type guitar with a mahogany body and a 3 piece laminated mahogany neck. This will be my new Rebel model, featuring P90 Sonoran Custom pickups.
In this episode I I complete the level sanding and polish of the nitro finish, as well as get all the electronics and hardware installed.

Looks sweet. Very well done.
Thank you.
NICE 👍 CARE & PATIENCE are a great combo.
Patience is the one I need to work on!
Wow this looks great Bill, love the colour and the chrome P90s!👍
Thank Gio. Yeah, I tried the black covers and then the chrome. The chrome goes so much better. I think if it were the more mustard colour yellow then black would have been better.
Looks pretty sharp, Bill, especially the neck heel and carve! Color is not my cup of tea, but everyone has different tastes. Finish did turn out stunning, and I can't wait to see your next build!!!!! Cheers, brother!
Thanks BK. One of these days soon I plan to do a circus pink tele with all black hardware... a flash back and a tip of the hat to the 80's scene! I do like the way the neck heel feels on this. very comfortable.
@billsguitargarage For what my .27 cents is worth, I would do that color scheme on your own custom version of a Jackson or Ibanez, to truly tip your hat to the 80's! With a set of your sidewinder or Super 80's, that would be a screamer that I think ANYONE would drool over, at least I would! 80's hair is my personal favorite genre!!!!!
Hi Chief! Amazing work, you're getting better and better! Can't wait to hear how it sounds, but I bet it will be as good as it looks.
Peace and long life! 🖖
Many thanks. I'm hoping to get the fianl video out soon. Hopefully by next weekend
My love ❤
Looks good Bill. Just like everything else in guitar building the finishing will have issues and slip ups. Like a chip from the drill. Seems like there is always some little defect that needs touch up. I remember my first attempt at inlay thinking the pros didn't use filler. The pros might use less filler but nobody gets it perfect unless they use a CNC machine like the PRS birds.
Thank you. Inlays are my next big hurdle. Like anything, I hope the more finishing I do, the better I'll get 🤞
Nice looking and designed guitar but yellow is just not for me. I would have preferred either Blue or Green or natural. Definitely nothing wrong with the guitar it's self. Just personal preference.
Many thanks,! Yeah colour is just one of those things, but that what's so great about it as there will usually be something for everyone! Green is my personal favorite colour.
i don't think i have been doing it right. you say you waited a month after clear coats before level sanding. i think i'll have to add that extra time in next time i finish one.
Yeah, everything I have seen, says to wait 2 to 4 weeks for the nitro to cure. I actually god sidetracked with other builds and let it set for 8 weeks (plus I hate sanding!).
Hi, great build, I'm also interested to build one with this wraparound bridge, what angle did you use on the neck?
The neck angle is at 2 degrees
@@billsguitargarage thanks for the reply!
