- Cleaning the filthy Mikarb VM-28 carb. So much oil and dirt got past the air filter, but it cleaned up well. So at one point I go looking for the spring under the air screw, which I thought should be there but didn't find. After I'd cleaned the carb and reassembled it, lo and behold the spring was sitting in a corner of my bench. So a reminder to me to watch out for those little springs that like to launch themselves into the corners of your work area.
Thank you for your post. It became very helpful. I had contacted the dealer and they don’t have a clue about this Micarb VM 28 carburetor 😊😊
You're welcome Peter. I've never used a dealer for this bike. I've gotten lots of tips from Bullet groups online, and a good exploded diagram of any part is a big help. Glad this helped you out.
I had taken the VM 28 Micarb carburetor off from the bike. I had it cleaned very well but not to the level you had explained. It was dirty, the gasket maker compound had melted and it was all over. Finding out the float had many hairline cracks. No wonder the bike was running high rpm, choke was not doing anything.
Amazing what you find when you dismantle one eh? Did you find the parts you need at Hitchcock's?
Found your channel when looking for video footage on the Enfield Micarb maintenance. I have to do mine which is the same model on an indian 1966 350 to 500cc conversion.
Sounds good Jo Ho. Hope you find it useful.
@@hotoilhands It's always great to see how someone else is doing the job - especially tuning. You do a great job in going into details 👍
Sir, I’m in desperate need of a gasket for the float bowl, the rubber intake manifold. Do you have any recommendations where I can purchase.
I highly recommend Hitchcock's in England. Quality parts and service. I've had great experience with them. They carry parts for all the British and Indian made Bullets.
