I think my favorite finds from the video are the bank made out of the shell casing, then the travel kit with the bottle of cologne still intact. Very cool.
Alright ill have to look into a lot of this and its very very interesting and i cant help but say thanks because i really appreciate the knowledge and support youve shared with me
Groeten nick
Your not metal detectors! You’re Archeologist. Well-done! ‘Gentlemen’ an outstanding use of “stock footage” to identify your finds! As always, thanks’ for taking the time to make this video! And I support this site. ~M~
you guys have the coolest channel on youtube i absolutely love this shit awesome job guys if not for people like you these soldiers story would never be told the way you do it is very informative thank you for the ability to understand our history a little better keep up the good work and look forward to seeing more from you guys
Hi D-squad, what we say is all chitchat ;-) not worth subtiteling. Our new vid is coming up very soon, we keep using text, but only to explain some finds. Out detectors: Fisher CZ5 Quicksilver, Fischer 1236 X ( both wit 10.5 inch coils ) and XPgmaxx with huge coil.
No thanx Paulie. Buckles, buttons, coins and such things are free to keep of course. ( automatic ) ground dug weapons can be a problem in some countrie's. Even if they are rotten and rusted, you have to have a permit to collect them.
i have to say your videos are amazing to watch and cant wait for more, do you have any pics showing your entire collection, and what.do you do with all of it.
Yes there are, and those laws are strict. But its not exactly a goldmine. In our vids metaldetecting looks so easy, but we never show the searches where we find nothing at all.
The war was over, and it was now time for rebuilding Europe. Most of the stuff the soldiers left behind in the woods had become useless and had to disappear from view. If there was a lake or river in the area, they used that to get rid of stuff too.
I would absolutely love to do this. I'm planning a trip to Europe in a couple years once I'm out of college, hopefully there will be some left for me :)
Thanks so much for the reply I was suprised I figured with the metal shortages all of the metal would have been scraped sheet metal and all I guess with the old munitions it was easier to bury it then call someone to take care of it if you could find some one. do you ever worry about setting something off? well thanks again and have a great day enjoyed your dig.
I love your Videos, I find it truly amazing what was left on the Battlefields throughout Europe. I had no Idea until I found your channel that so much material was just "left there". I was wondering if what you do is regulated by a gov't entity or are you guy allowed to just roam around looking for History? I mean do you have to get some sort of permit to do your searches, or permission from landownerrs? Do you have to turn your items over to the Gov't, or are you free to keep what ya find?
Most of it was left behind in the woods by retreating or attacking troops, and afterward sunk in the ground or thrown away in old trenches and foxholes by civilians. Because of the re-use of metal, copper shellcasings were worth some money, but that late-ware sheetmetal stuff was worthless.
I hope you guys inform the red cross or the Kriegsgräberpflege if you find remains of soldiers. It does not matter from witch nation he is. They will inform the relativs and they will take care for a barriel. They deserv that. I worked a while for the Kriegsgräberpflege and we still found remains and relativs that were glad to hear what happend to Grandpa.
Also, maybe, do you think they buried it into foxholes and trenches because they didn't want to remember what happened during the war, or if it was kind of like a memorial for dead soldiers?
Groeten, WWIImd
Hi Paulie, when you find a missing soldier, you must report your discovery to the authorities, they should do the excavation. Personal items like a wedding ring must return to the soldiers family.
Oke dankjewel!!
Thank you, that's nice to hear, glad you can appreciate the vid.
Your historical knowledge for identifying these relics is amazing! It adds greatly to your videos!
I think my favorite finds from the video are the bank made out of the shell casing, then the travel kit with the bottle of cologne still intact. Very cool.
We only clean them a bit. The helmets end up on a shelve, the nice little relics in our display cabinet.
Thanks for sharing your finds.
Thank you Susan, we do our best. Good to hear you can appreciate it, greetings from the Netherlands.
Dankje.
Even though I don't understand your language, it is interesting to see you guys find all those things.
Alright ill have to look into a lot of this and its very very interesting and i cant help but say thanks because i really appreciate the knowledge and support youve shared with me

Thanx Butcher, we will continue to do our best.
New to the channel. I'm fascinated with anything to do with WW2. Thank you for sharing and the digging you all do. Subscribed and cheers from America!

Thank you for sharing your finds! And also thanks for subtitles in English so we can follow along with you. Keep up the good work!! Vicki
Super bedankt !
Nice. Keep up the good work, and be careful with an active ammo.
00:40 those shells would be very good as pots for flowers or as buckets for other things found in the dirt.

Hi Warfare, we use 2 Fisher detectors (both have a 10.5 inch coil) and 1 XP detector with a huge coil ;-)

lijkt me echt gaaf om zulke dingen te vinden =)
Huh what was that =)I was going to say that didn't look like a Krummlauf to me.Take care thanks for inspiring me to go out and metal detect!
good very good video thankssss!!!!
Hi Renato, a lot of war-stuff is burried in old foxholes and trenches to get rid of it, thats why.
Strak!
echt leuke video"s plaatsen jullie good job:)

Glad you like it LMB. And you didn't miss much, just some chitchat in Dutch ;-)
Finally!
Most of it was left behind in the woods by retreating or attacking troops, and afterward sunk in the ground or thrown away in old trenches and foxholes by civilians. Because of the re-use of metal, copper shellcasings were worth some money, but that late-ware sheetmetal stuff was worthless.
What do you do with all the Things you finds?
Btw. loves the videos. I am very interested in WW2 myself so it`s fun to learn something new:-)
A lot of the it we leave behind in the woods.
Yes, you have a very good hearing, I did say "Krummlauf", it was a joke ;-)

The letters and paper money is interesting, wonder why it was in the shell?

Mooi werk weer jongens.
i hope you guys always close the holes you did.
Some great finds! Question tho; do you find much unexploded ordnance?
No, fortunately not often
Also, maybe, do you think they buried it into foxholes and trenches because they didn't want to remember what happened during the war, or if it was kind of like a memorial for dead soldiers?
how do you change your youtube name? awesome finds!!!

Lekker hoor!
Mooie vids!
Leuke vondsten jongens!

Alright thank you ive always wondered about that stuff but other things like uniforms, guns, coins, and other sorts of things are free to keep?
I always ask myself "What story is behind those things you found, and what happened to its owner? "

Hi, if you get a shovel on a shell when digging, what would happen?
Klasse, weiter so ;)

Why are these objects so deep? Does the earth accumulate over them that fast? Or were they burried somehow?
That 'paper' at 14:19 acutally is a cigarette box of "Typ 4 Sondermischung", not a letter :-)
mooie vondsten
