- Metaldetecting WW2 Episode 4. Our fourth tour to the Eastern Front of this year. In this tour we found several interesting relics, including several weapons, magazines, canteens and other relics. Silent witnessess of the Second World War. Feel free to post comments or ask questions. Enjoy the video!
Disclaimer: this video has no political motive or whatsoever, we only want to show you the traces of history that can still be found. Apart from the rules and laws that apply to the specific areas we visit, we always make sure the environment is not damaged and that potential dangerous and illegal finds to possess, such as unexploded ordnance, are reported to the right authorities. We are also aware of the possibilityof finding a missing soldier or ID tags. In case we would find such a thing, we will always inform the right authorities (which we have done several times after finding ID tags) and stop digging ourselves. We will let the experts take over and let them identify and rebury the soldier. We will never take any belongings. Nothing we find is for sale. We don't dig for profit, but because we love history and we want to preserve the objects we find. We have never sold a thing, and we never will. Asking about it is useless. Thanks.
Note: I do not own the music used in the video, nor will I make money with it!

This was very emotional for me, I've been in the U.S.Navy for the last 24 years and I am a ground pounder/dirt sailor and you cannot explain the turmoil that comes from knowing what you unearth and what you know it's for, then try to fathom how it was back then hits you hard. These men were made of steel and weather Germany or Russian or American all were tuff as nails in my book.
weather??really??
This seems like the best job one could ever have. Such great finds!
That 98k is just awesome, especially with the bolt intact
This looks like a lot of fun...I envy you...digging up history....that's cool!!!
I would love to do this!
just be careful for mines if ther any
The relics you found are amazing ! The history just waiting to be found is enought to make me want to dig like you into the night ! Great video thanks for sharing !
Many do not understand WW2 relic hunting or WW2 collecting for that matter.
Have a nice evening friend.
Hi Devon, we started digging in that area many years ago. We even found some good stuff, not sure if that's possible anymore these days, the area is very well known by diggers. Thanks for watching, and maybe one day you will be able to do some digging yourself..
These videos are really something!! Bringing back History!! Thanks for all the videos! !
I love how the footage of this video is filmed through a German point of view. Love it.
Great video! Thanks for taking the time to make it. I give much credit for all the research and planning that is put in one of these hunts. It is very cool to see these historical artifacts being unearthed. Keep up the great work!
I happen to buy relics because I can and they are fun to shoot as well. But when I'm out with my metal detector, I can only dream of the finds you are making. Thanks for filming your exploits, I can't get enough of watching them.
Kinda brought a tear to my eye every time you pulled up a K98... a good soldier would never leave his rifle, but rather die beside it.
This vid is just AMAZIING an beautiful, music goes well
Thanks Dan!
Mon_Arsenal 20 go to karjala and try find FinlandSubmachinegun or something stuff at winter war or war of karjala
Absolutely fantastic! Very well done! Great job! Very impressed! Bring some more on!
Hello Brendan, thanks for stopping by. No, we don't sell our relics. The reason we dig for these relics is because we want to preserve them for the future and hopefully display them in a single public collection one day. We don't do this for money. Best, HR.
This is a great video! And the editing was superb as well. Pictures of the actual weapons along with descriptions really added a lot. I am so envious! Respect from Apache Junction, Arizona.
Great job, guys! Looks like you do a good job identifying what you find.
What did you done with possible found body parts? You know, there're still familiy members whose have missing loved ones.
Thanks Remus. Yes there are still many relics buried in the woods and lands. And there might even be more under water in rivers, lakes etc. We have never found human remains. Thanks for watching :)
I am the 1.000.000 viewer of this video. A great honor!

I can only feel sorry for the poor souls & their families on all sides who had to endure the hardships of war.

Fantastic video guys! Really nice to see you find the piece then see the piece in action. Very good choice of music too. Thank you very much!

Awesome made video!...Thank you for taking us along!!
It's interesting to see things so old and yet still so new and recent in history and so much of it too.
I never really realised how messy (in not cleaning up after yourself way) war was.
Very interesting.
Awesome finds guys! New subscriber here. You have some great videos that I happened to stumble across. Very cool. Please keep them coming.
Thanks, glad to hear you like the videos :)
Fascinating. Its really moving to think that these items were dropped or discarded in dark conflict situations and have lain there undisturbed until you guys came along.
I would love to go on one of those excursions...

For myselfe it would be fascinating to find such historical things
Seeing the physical evidence of the horror that the whole world went through is really awakening.
These are always so satisfying to watch

Nice video again !!!!
Up to the next trip!!
By putting back I mean not taking home. Of course we report dangerous finds. Best, HR.
très belle trouvailles ! chapeau
Hi Izabelle, I understand what you mean but you have to keep in mind that Germany was defeated and in ruins, citizens scared and vulnerable to the victors. After 1945 a lot of Eastern European countries became satellite states of the Soviet Union. This often meant a hard time for the citizens of those areas and gathering lost army equipment was probably the least of their concern.. I guess a lot of stuff was reused but even more stuff just considered trash. Thanks for watching.
Amazing video and what a great find! :D
Great video. Looks like a very fun and interesting hobby. Please take care in your excavations and bring us some more videos if possible.
Thanks for sharing!!
Well done 👍
some serious fighting went on there!
I love it I'm a big fan of WW2. I want to try that
Your videos are awesome!! Keep up the good work! :)
Very cool stuff... When you go to display your finds, bring a white piece of layout cardboard. It will look neater to showcase your finds. That way the ground doesnt get in the way of viewing what you found. Cool stuff! keep looking!
I come from the Czech Republic, with us you will not find much, so I sometimes like to look at places like in this video, really fascinate me such findings, I'm a lover of history and especially WWII:) (Sorry for my English, I don't speak English very well)
I would love to do this! Amazing soundtrack to go with it btw. Great vid. :)
Hi Daniel, it's not just one song. I think we used about 4 songs, all composed by S. Jablonsky. Thanks for stopping by.
that was a awesome vid no talking just the captions that was great editing in my opinion. I always wanted to do that same thing go to old battle fields an just look around metal detecting is even better. Keeping history alive, keeping those soldiers that used the stuff alive in a way.awesome;)
We will return to this spot, so maybe next time ;) Thanks for watching!
Hello, thanks for stopping by! I've heard there are good places in the Czech Republic, although I don't have experience with digging there.. Anyway, good to hear you like our videos :)
Very nice video love watching World War II detecting. The shell that you found that was labeled Scoville Manufacturing it is an American company that used to make all brass casings and buttons for soldiers for World War II I live about 15 minutes from the old manufacturing facility they have torn it down about 11 years ago to build a big mall called the brass Mill Center.
10:25 Scovill Mfg exists today in the US. It produces fasteners.
WW2 was a soldier's or civilian's death every three seconds for six years or over 800,000 a month for six years.
How ironic, digging up a shovel
you guy are very cool. keep them coming
Very cool video, thanks for uploud!
nice greetings
Eiserne Garde

Greets, MultiHenry
Thanks for proving my point.
We put them back because it's illegal to have them, plus the rounds we put back are not dangerous. And believe me, these will not be found again.. Explosives will be reported though.
Thanks for your concern but we're quite careful and we've been doing this for almost ten years now, we know what to expect and what not to do. You can never be too careful though.
Hey jongens,
Great! Good video..
I know that, but just starting with it. I'm a total beginer, and for me there is no such large sites as in Russia. thank you and look out, I see you dig realy everything! good luck and take care!!!
Well done, great music too.
Great finds. I only wish I were there.
We use the White's Matrix M6 and XP Gmaxx II. I'm not familiar with the Seben Extreme, but I shouldn't expect much from a metal detector in that price range.
Hello Siem. The best advice we can give you is doing proper research. Read books, study maps and try not to choose the areas that are too well known. And when you are near the locations you want to dig, look for potentially interesting places, like hills that oversee the whole area for example. And of course the cliché, don't give up, keep on walking and dig every good signal carefully. Good luck :)
really really good video,, good job.. thanks..
History fan, especially WW2. I'd like to dig where I live but no battles in the area... Romania, Dobrogea. Probably just some bombings on the railways but nothing to dig for. You earned a sub.
Great work you are doing there, thank you for the video. But be careful of Tetanus when you take burred steel/iron items out of the earth. : )
Thanks, and we will :)
You should try it yourself ;) Thanks for leaving a comment! Best, HR.
I was only able to dig in Western Germany near Ramstein AFB and that area. I would have LOVED to dig the Eastern Front!!
they digged up
Another shovel !
X)
Keep that German shovel to find a Soviet shovel, then an American one, a Japanese one, an Italian!
Okay Thanks I Love your Videos Keep Up the good work
Wonderful video good job guys .... good luck
