  • Metaldetecting WW2 Episode 4. Our fourth tour to the Eastern Front of this year. In this tour we found several interesting relics, including several weapons, magazines, canteens and other relics. Silent witnessess of the Second World War. Feel free to post comments or ask questions. Enjoy the video!
Disclaimer: this video has no political motive or whatsoever, we only want to show you the traces of history that can still be found. Apart from the rules and laws that apply to the specific areas we visit, we always make sure the environment is not damaged and that potential dangerous and illegal finds to possess, such as unexploded ordnance, are reported to the right authorities. We are also aware of the possibilityof finding a missing soldier or ID tags. In case we would find such a thing, we will always inform the right authorities (which we have done several times after finding ID tags) and stop digging ourselves. We will let the experts take over and let them identify and rebury the soldier. We will never take any belongings. Nothing we find is for sale. We don't dig for profit, but because we love history and we want to preserve the objects we find. We have never sold a thing, and we never will. Asking about it is useless. Thanks.
Note: I do not own the music used in the video, nor will I make money with it!

This was very emotional for me, I've been in the U.S.Navy for the last 24 years and I am a ground pounder/dirt sailor and you cannot explain the turmoil that comes from knowing what you unearth and what you know it's for, then try to fathom how it was back then hits you hard. These men were made of steel and weather Germany or Russian or American all were tuff as nails in my book.

Hi Devon, we started digging in that area many years ago. We even found some good stuff, not sure if that's possible anymore these days, the area is very well known by diggers. Thanks for watching, and maybe one day you will be able to do some digging yourself..

Kinda brought a tear to my eye every time you pulled up a K98... a good soldier would never leave his rifle, but rather die beside it.

Hi Izabelle, I understand what you mean but you have to keep in mind that Germany was defeated and in ruins, citizens scared and vulnerable to the victors. After 1945 a lot of Eastern European countries became satellite states of the Soviet Union. This often meant a hard time for the citizens of those areas and gathering lost army equipment was probably the least of their concern.. I guess a lot of stuff was reused but even more stuff just considered trash. Thanks for watching.

Very nice video love watching World War II detecting. The shell that you found that was labeled Scoville Manufacturing it is an American company that used to make all brass casings and buttons for soldiers for World War II I live about 15 minutes from the old manufacturing facility they have torn it down about 11 years ago to build a big mall called the brass Mill Center.

  • @Foomba

10:25 Scovill Mfg exists today in the US. It produces fasteners.
WW2 was a soldier's or civilian's death every three seconds for six years or over 800,000 a month for six years.

    Hey jongens,

Hello Siem. The best advice we can give you is doing proper research. Read books, study maps and try not to choose the areas that are too well known. And when you are near the locations you want to dig, look for potentially interesting places, like hills that oversee the whole area for example. And of course the cliché, don't give up, keep on walking and dig every good signal carefully. Good luck :)
