The 'dragging' is literally what makes the song. It's a haunting outro for which you have to be in the zone to enjoy

I understand Chels reaction. This extended version is a gift for fans. This song is from the cultissime album From Mars to Sirius and they played it at the very end of their show as a grand final. For me it could have last an eternity... Beyond the song I think this live is one of the most epic live I have ever heard. Everything is so damn epic: the capture from ARTE's crew, Mario being in complete trance for half of the song (look at his face!), Joe screaming at the wind a capella, the sky turning to storm, the fantastic crowd with this clown from nowhere.... did I say EPIC?
Like I said in the previous video. Gojira like to stretch their songs live, especially if they have one simple groove to lock on to. This is their whole "mantra" thing where they kinda zone out. It can be quite hit-or-miss if you're not in the crowd, and/or not into the particular mantra of the song.
Crushing performance. I remember seeing them at Copenhell in 2015, where they opened with 'Ocean Planet' and closed with this song. It was majestic!
Now I just can't wait to see them again for the 9th time in January!
4 minutes in constantly double kicks, man... I love this extended version live. Mario Duplantier have the beat of this planet in his feet and arms!!
The last part of this song its líke a Loop that goes on and on, and the crowd running in circles is amazing!
There are 2 kinds of Outro's or final songs that Gojira works into their live performances. There are ones like this and then I see you already reviewed Pray Live at Red Rocks which was also a final song. I think they changed up Vacuity and another song I can't remember for their Encore Exit. Firstly, they change the composition so it ends up nothing like the Studio Track. In that way they offer the audience a treat which they never heard before. On top of that they make it EPIC so that even though you heard it only once.. you will NEVER forget it.

And they are either loved for dragging them out or people get bored with it. Chels, it's a song you need to listen maybe later after discovering Gojira. But maybe it's just not a song you like even after a long time and it's ok. Try The heaviest matter of the universe or Remembrance. Both live for sure. 🤘
Not "Heaviest Matter of the Universe" live. THAT one needs to be a recording that they hear for the first time. Every live of that song is mixed to shit, and they won't be able to enjoy every part of it. Remembrance is cool, but mostly to show off that off-the-beaten-path pattern at the end, but it's not exactly a standout song otherwise on the album. At least not if we want them BOTH enjoy it.

I like when music doesn't follow its own rules. This piece should have sequels, like King Crimson's Larks' tongues in aspic. You can't really fuse yourself with a groove, and that's what's great about it. Take me to nowhere with you. I can feel the dragon's breath on me. Fantastic storytelling.

Awesome video i saw gojira first time live when i went to see Metallica in 2012 in helsinki they were warming up for metallica and i totally forgot about them for a good 3 years, after i took a better look at the shirt i bought there in the concert i started looking up the band that were there in sonisphere 2012 and i became a gojira fan for life(sorry for my english im not from english speaking country)

Here’s the thing, I can understand why people don’t like how long the song is, but I think that’s why the title speaks for itself, the guitars sound like a dragon and it’s just brain melting drums.
