Mario just fucking kills the double bass for like 5 minutes non stop this man is godly. His calfs take up half of France.
Heavy enough to have its own gravitational pull. Gojira never disappoint.
Trollstank I guess you could say they are ‘the heaviest matter of the universe’
"I saw.... (double bass hittin') I saw MONSTERS..." Just phenomenal.
This outro is one of their best idea. When hypnotic riffs last so long, you end up being the monster
Its like Joe isn't speaking a to a crowd of fans when he says that. Its feels much more personal than that. The hair on my neck stands up when I hear him bellow those words into the void. "I saw monsters, and I start to dig within."
Mario's double bass in this vid just continues and continues
Same goes for "From the sky". Absolute beast.
Legend has it Mario's feet are still double kicking on those bass drums and created a black hole which pulled in The Heaviest Matter Of The Universe!!!
Im genuinly jealus you get to discover these songs for the first time.. Gojira is special. You have alot of fun ahead!
thanks man, i still cant believe it has taken so long!
I've been listening to them for about 2 years and this is song I really liked but never saw this performance... and holy shit, even after seeing a lot of live performances and hearing all their albums that was powerful, it blew my mind
I discoverd them about a month ago and cant...no WILL NEVER stop listening to them....after beeing a metalhead since 16 years i found perfection ( my opinion sure other people other favourites) but Gojira has everything it needs to be just legendary. When it comes to Live sorry but you cant fuck with Gojiras energy.
@@markuscovi8436 Yeah I just found these guys a few months ago. They're severely underrated. It's like, earlier Sepultura with the vibes of Tool and a dash of the heaviest matter in the universe. When I first heard them I was like, "They gotta be playing in C Tuning." And come to find out some of their stuff is in E Tuning or D Tuning. They make it sound so much heavier.
5:12 the whole stage was swaying under the gravitational pull.
I had the pleasure of meeting the band at a festival. It was day 2 and I told them so far they were the best I seen. They all soaked those words in like they have no idea how goddamn good they are. I fucking love them!
I've seen this video about 15 times now and I still enjoy it like the first time.
gojira of france are metal gods, when it comes to there music they can do no wrong
The 4 minute bass pump Mario does at the end is unreal
The emotion Gojira puts out is incredible...
i see everybody's getting into Gojira, shit is so heavy it has its own gravitational field
Dude, this is EXACTLY what I felt inside, when I saw my first Gojira show in Belgium! I couldn't speak, because I was being turned into a savage animal, but these thoughts you have about their music... It's the same man. Exactly the same. It was in 2009, and a schoolmate I randomly met there, dragged me to their show. He said "Fuck whatever you're doing, you HAVE to see this band!", and that was the end of the old me XD
I've changed a lot since then, and I've tried my best to go to every single concert I was able to. I think I might have skipped 1 or 2 shows. They have influenced my taste in music, my view on the world and life itself... I think I might just be one of those crazy motherfuckers that you've been talking about XD
I had the pleasure of meeting the band at a festival. It was day 2 and I told them so far they were the best I seen. They all soaked those words in like they have no idea how goddamn good they are. I fucking love them!
I wanted to battle every thing that is currently a struggle in my life just from listening to that live performance!
yo same
Dude i feel the exact same way, i wanna face all my problems head on
great reaction. man I remember not too long ago when Gojira was like a sub culture or a cult that hardly anyone had ever heard of and I used to feel alone with my passion like a fucking UFO. and now, at last, they're getting some of that credit they so deserve..
Lisa FeLines holy shit I just discovered this band. I know what you are talking about - from the other side!
I've been hearing about them for years, where people tell me to listen to them, but finslly, and wow i've been missing out for many years.
I know that feel lmao.
Recommendation.. Gojira - Love (rock in rio 2015)
I approve
Yes a must see!!
I love this live version and wish I had been at the concert.
Especially the second part of the song, especially if you listen to it on headphones, is so hypnotic, it just pulls you into this song...
Now react to Gojira - The Gift Of Guilt (Live at Brixton Academy, London)
thanks emrecan!
Np cheers!
Please do!
Imagine this riff in the endings of one episode of the latest Game of Thrones season, it would be pure madness IMHO.
I love this song so much, and not only because I grew up less than 2km form the Duplantier family home, “From Mars to Sirius” literally dragged me back into metal
You should live their concerts at home - small venue cause we're not London or Seattle, very far from that! - but holy sh... those guys have such a talent to feel the crowd, very special, and their sound engineers are so brilliant.
Jean-Michel Labadie - the bassist - loves to go crazy in particular, sometimes literally jumping into the crowd at 43 BTW, so badass.
I fucking love them as much as I loved Slayer when I was teen 30 years ago, and TBH very proud to come from the exact same place as them, crossing Christian or Jean-Michel path once a while.
That stupid smile on my face and that thrill every time I’m listening to many of their songs, nothing can beat that.
Thank you so much Truant, always a pleasure to see your videos though I discovered your chan less than a week ago TBH! \m/
Meshuggah Demiurge
Gojira Art of Dying or Remembrance
thanks kaos!
I will watch every Gojira video you do.
I feel you...I’ve heard and seen their band logo for years....but I some how never took the time to sit, and listen until this year. I feel like I also wasted and missed out!!! Gojira !!!!!!
Here's a few songs from Gojira that you might like. These are among the best metal songs I've ever heard:
- Clone
- Toxic Garbage Island
- From the sky
- Backbone
- Born in Winter
- The Art of Dying
where dragons vape
I was in this crowd in Hellfest 2013, it was fucking amazing. Most brutal gig I've ever been to, my whole body was in pain after that but it was definitely worth it.
4:12 - 4:30 is just insane tightness....
headbanging along
unavoidable hahaha
Gojira - Silvera live at Bloodstock 2016
Most amazingest thing i have ever seen!
Wish I could double thumbs up this. Could see the shock in your face when it ended. They're certainly a force. I recommend "In the Forest" from "The Link Alive" DVD. I believe it is from 2003. Maybe even older.
I love this reaction, man...awesome...I have to listen to it from time to time...it inspires me...cheers
gojira are fucking badass. glad you are checking them more. check isis-20 minutes/ 40 years and Sumac in general, prepare to shit your pants. heavy stuff.
hahaha thanks buddy i will!
Periphery - the bad thing. God I love this song and I think you will too haha. Cheers mate
You should check out Alter Bridge, they toured with Gojira not too long ago.Two great songs to check out would be Blackbird (live at Wembley) or Addicted To Pain. Enjoy!
thanks harry sure will!
I dig your enthusiasm and grasp of what good shit is, mate. Well done.
Leprous - Contaminate Me (Live at Rockefeller Music Hall)!!
I second this
my favorite fucking song.. amazing..
probably my favourite modern metal riff of all time.
you described this so well. This is my favourite song/video/performance by them. and that is pure power and passion at its finest. my reaction was goosebumps the whole time and speechless at the end
Beast of a band! Epic 🤘
Yes yes yes. Yes.
Please come back. Hope you’re ok. Do more Gojira.
I fucking love gojira and i just binge watched all of your reactions because i love seeing metal fans seeing them play for the first time
In my opinion, gojira captures everything a good metal song can be. Either it has an intro long enough to make the drop even more satisfying, or they blow your fucking ear drums out in the first 4 seconds. Powerful, melodic vocals, with a real message, and most of all, the ability to make a great show.
The Faceless - Deconsecrate
You gotta check that out.
thanks aleksa will do!
I discovered Gojira in Knebworth 2014 live... Was love at first sight! Since then I saw it plus 2 times... And next 5 July will be my 4th in Lisbon
You are one entertaining Dude. Keep it up. Cheers from Germany.
youre the man Jan! thanks buddy!
Nice one, Gojira is one of my top bands.... and I recommend checking out pretty much any of the tracks from The Link Alive (dvd) from a few years back. Remembrance, Death Of Me and Embrace The World are some of my favourites. Cheers mate.
Andrew Corrigan That's actually from 2003. Over ten years old. Hard to believe huh?
React to Dimmu Borgir - Gateways when they are playing live, search for: Dimmu Borgir - Gateways (Live- Forces of the Northern Night. its different!.
thanks man!
TruantReacts I can tell that Im happy to see that you comment. Im from Sweden and sometime to se you react to a swedish band that sings in swedish, tell me when you ready ☺. a lot of fun it will be.
This 4 (yes, FOUR) minutes of fast double bass at the end always get me. Mario's legs are freakin' drumming machines !
You're gonna love The Art Of Dying.
lmfao its actually never to late to react to this THE SET WAS FUCKING DOPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
2020. i´m always about to cry to, every time i watch this jewel. cheers from Mexico m8
Not sure if you have seen them live yet, but I loved your reaction. Great stuff! I've seen them a few times and they are spot on, ridiculous. Fantastic. You are absolutely correct.. raw power.
Gojira's "The Heaviest Matter of the Universe" is an absolute must to hear
Also, "Bleed" by Meshuggah (preferably live) - one of the best headbanging provoking tracks out there. There's no way to avoid rocking your head to it :)
The video is fantastic..it's has all these little jitters n warps the director put it... Looks so trippy the way it's shot and edited
please check out Insomnium- while we sleep.
Fucking YESSSSSSSSSSSSSS
my god fucking yes
And after that please Wintersun - Sons of winter and stars (Live Rehearsal) :)
exactly
I've seen alot of your reactions. I'm that quiet lurker that usually watches and hits the like button. but I gotta say, keep doing your thing man... I did sit through the extra 5 minutes of talking at the end because it's easy to listen to. you talk to Express yourself, not overly loud and crazy like some reactors pretend to be.
Great reaction mate this song makes my hairs stand on end its fucking beautiful.
Awesome live performance - I'll need to catch up on my Gojira for sure. The heavier parts reminded me a bit of Behemoth. It would be great to see your reaction to their song Conquer All.
Should check out some old school live Gojira, anything from 'The Link Alive' is incredible, shows their stage presence and skill even in their early days.
Gojira - Born in winter please
Gojira - The Gift of Guilty...Best song of the band in my opinion
All these comments about Mario's double bass are definitely well justified and I totally agree with them. But damn has anyone noticed the perfect ghost notes at the beginning when he's laying that fat ass beat? He ain't just playing random ghost notes. He's got them counted and knows how he wants it to sound. Mario plays with precision. One of the many things I love about this band.
Insomnium - While We Sleep. Swear to god I will die happy if you react to that song.
in that case its coming soon daniel!
besides my repeated requests for jinjers words of Wisdom... you should check out Divine heresy - facebreaker... drummer, Tim Yeung is a fuckin madman!
hey buddy, keep an eye out on jinjer friday ;]
Gojira concert at "Vieilles Charrues fest" is insane, "Garorock fest 2014" too.... Garorock fest 2009" the sound is very average.
Gojira - Lizard Skin (Live at Vieilles Charrues Festival 2010)
Gojira - Remembrance - The Link Alive DVD
BrutalV that Vieilles Charrues fest video is insane! I can easily watch that whole videos anytime! Every song is brutal and... GREAT!
125% Pure fuckin Death metal shit!
awesome. I hadn't seen any comments about otep. So that's why I recommended them. just to let you know I subscribed to you a few weeks ago. must of been a week or so after jinjer pisces was uploaded
Thanks Nick its much appreciated man!
*cough*jinjer-words of wisdom*cough* 😂
cough* jinjer friday tomorrow* cough ;]
nice to see another brit that likes gojira
if you like the final of the riff, listen In the Wilderness. It's Gojira, of course
Nice your reaction
Iove gojira amazing band
Periphery letter experiment good grooves and vocals 3 guitarists in harmony and any tesseract song I'd recommend concealing fate part 1 studio session the vocals and grooves and melodie will knock your socks off
If you like metal with a massive feel to it check out Wolfheart. Their songs sound epic and Tuomas the vocalist is a beast. You really can't go wrong with what song to pick but Aeon of Cold, Boneyards, or World on Fire are up there for me.
yep ! my scouser friend ! Welcome to the world of the mighty fucking GOJIRA
Check out toxic garbage island, oroborus or vacuity by gojira
Never clicked faster on a video.
Please react to Tesseract - Of Matter (live in studio)
Thanks Eyal ill check it out!
Gojira a sight to behold
Heaviest Matter In The Universe (Live @Garorock 2014)
I'm not a huge fan of Gojira's first two albums, but everything after that is just 110% amazing. I've seen them twice now, and it was AMAZING both times. Can't wait for the third time.
Another insanely heavy song is from Magma called Pray. Probably my favorite from that album. And definitely check out The Art of Dying. It is one of my top 5 Gojira songs. Listen to the studio version before you do the live version so you get the complete experience of that song.
ive heard this song so many times but that change at 4:10ish still fucks me up. its sooooooo gooooddddd
I'd compare that ending to be like the end of 'I want you (she's so heavy)' by The Beatles just repeating hypnotically until it suddenly ends, although the album version fades out.
Dream Theater, Leprous and now Gojira - you're like a younger version of me !!
GOJIRA LOVE
just react to the entire 2013 hellfest, one of their best sets and highly overlooked
Such a great song. You should react to A Sense of Gravity- Echo Chasers, they deserve so much more recognition
Check out Between the Buried and Me - viridian / white walls
Again another great video, I fuckin love Gojira. I recommend you check out Toxic Garbage Island, I'm also still recommending Time to Rise by Westfield Massacre
I have 3 things I'd like to see.
1 anything from vildhjarta. brilliant djent band.
2 Between the Buried and Me - Astral body. Holy shit technical metal.
3 is to flip the table and have you pick something.
You totally have to check out Down on the Ropes by The Charm The Fury! If you dig Jinjer, you'd dig them as well.
Mario is a damn beast on drums... wow.
I recommend the band Otep confrontation. warhead. fists fall are good songs
A good song by the band In This Moment is big bad wolf
lots of otep requests nick, coming soon!
Your reactions are lit. Gojira is god

Those bass drum beats for 5 fucking minutes bro!!!!
Hey bro! You should check out "Native Construct - Mute", that song blew my mind
