I love how you discuss that it's not that "heavy". Taking a step back, remembering the beginning of your journey into reactions, into metal and into Gojira and what was heavy then and is now. This is the demonstrable evidence of how a person can evolve in their understanding of a artistic genre (in this case heavy metal), to understand the nuances, the differences and to appreciate and critique it within that understanding. Gentlemen, my hats off to you as usual, stay safe in this weird year.
Absolutely, seeing these dudes being open minded and honest has made me way more receptive to different kinds of music too. It’s like food. I used to hate things like olives, blue cheese, fish and anything with soy (especially with soy over that bullshit oestrogen conspiracy theory) but the more I try it the more I like it.
Well said
Great comment 👌🏻 George and Ryan’s journey is so cool to watch.
Exactly. From a personal perspective, they're the kind of music that I'd have considered "too heavy" when I was around 12-13 (just getting into metal via Metallica's Black Album), "not heavy enough" at 15-20 (my blackmetal years), and at 40 "super-heavy in a good way, but different from various other super-heavy bands playing different sorts of metal, or not even metal at all but just 'heavy' in an emotional sense".
@Allan Wickerman im nervous like i never been before right now 🙏🙏
Im so grateful you guys put me on gojira with your reaction of heaviest matter of the universe
Dope. Been a fan for a decade.
Doesn't get old like most music
Bro what Zack Telander watches these guys?! Lol when worlds collide. Love your content Zack even as a powerlifter.
Oh shit ZT is into gojira, awesome
French bois make good nois
I love how Gojira can change their music style, they can be heavy or melodic without losing that "feel"of being Gojira
Around this time would be seeing Deftones and Gojira show if the covi didn’t hit. Hope that show happens next year.
Bro I would have been seeing them this weekend in Milwaukee 😒
😭 same
@@austinhendricks6645 you're in MKE?
Pretty sure they confirmed that they will be doing that tour in 2021, but we'll see...
That'd be an amazing lineup
Gojira released Stranded as a tame representation of what Magma was. I love this song for what it is and have no worries they'll show up big with this album
Exactly what I was thinking, Silvera I think was also released before the album came out and both of those tunes--while perfectly good songs, are not my favs on the album. While I love Magma as a whole, apart from The Cell which is a banger, the true brilliance of the album starts with Yellow Stone all the way to the end.
@@AdeptSnake You are right on the money my man! I agree completely!
Lost in Vegas and Gojira: Supercharged morning!!!
10 seconds into the song George be like, "Does this sound like Oroborus?", and I"m like... Damn son!!! It"s really awesome to see them pick up on such nuances! Cheers! 🍺
I don't really get the ouroboros vibe personally
It sounds a little more like Gift of Guilt
"Nuances". Man, it really sounds a lot like it, he said exactly what I was thinking too.
I always get so hyped when I see Lost In Vegas doing Gojira. I was at the Vegas show as well shadowing their LD. Such a good show!
Bro me and my ex were at that show as well. It was fuckin badass and then the shout-out to them too during the concert was badass too
I will never forgot that show. I saw Slipknot with Gojira and Behemoth in Salt Lake City, then saw Gojira in Vegas the next day. My neck was gone.... Greatest 2 days ever
I loved the shout-out to the boys! I was so stoked for them! And I told the LD that I’d be at the Knotfest show in Indy in a couple weeks and he let me watch Gojira from the booth there too!
I love it that when Jean-Michel does an internet search for 'another world', one of the suggestions is 'another world grammy'. That's genius :-D
this year has an 0.11% chance at getting better and thats all we need.
I think one of my favorite things about Gojira is how clean they sound instrumentally. The rough vocals really compliment the clean instrumentation. Smooth guitar riffs. Smooth beat and fills. Raw vocals that dont hurt your ears. They're so in touch as a band and it's really cool to see.
Ryan’s analysis at the end is so on point.
Completely agree. He's spot on with my thoughts about music.
I'm a musician myself and metal is my thing BUT a good song is a good song, regardless of it's roots.
Should see my playlists, I think eclectic is the word for them.
Which ones that again??..........just playinn
This song had a trippy effect on me. At first, I was like, “Okay, this is Gojira. I love them.” But the next morning I woke up and thought, “OMG I need to listen to it again!” Cuz it was stuck in my head lol.
Same here.......this was my introduction to Gojira but man, what a great first song to hear from them!
The song is OUTSTANDING. It actually *is* one of their best. Listen to it again. The musicianmanship and production are phenomenal.
In conclusion: There is no other world.
We have this world in different conditions
THERE IS NO PLANET B!!!!!!!
Pedro Chinito I came here to say this! They need to listen to some Gizz!
There was actually another parallel earth a student from MIT found. It has global average temps of 76F year round, but unfortunately it has vicious hurricanes and also 50-100 generations away in terms of travel time.
Yea, we better take care of this one.
Actually, in the video Jean-Michel is not using Google, but Qwant, an alternative (and french) web search engine, without tracking.
DuckDuckGo for the rest of us.
"They left with four dudes." LMAO
For real though, cool song and the video definitely adds a lot. I grew up listening to lots of metal and rock but you guys introduced me to Gojira. Thanks for that!
Have you guys reacted to The Ocean yet? If not, it's gotta be Permian: The Great Dying. Perfect blend of heavy, melodic, and excellent songwriting!
Can second for sure.
I've been waiting for the day they react to The Ocean. And Cloudkicker.
Jurassic - Cretacerous their latest song is incredible
For sure one of my favourite bands. Definitely would love to see them given love.
Tough to pick WHICH song from them to do!! Maybe The Greatest Bane?
New Gojira is the best thing to happen in 2020
I'm not ready for such an album ❤😔😭🤘🏼🔥
the new Avatar album is pretty strong too
New Petrucci today also!
@@luckystars7948 yeah it was really great.
Testament’s new album was released this year and is fantastic
No other reaction channel compares to y’all
I love these guys and CZcams recommends me so many reaction videos from channels that don’t hold up. Turns out I don’t even like reaction videos but these guys are cool lol
I won't even watch another reaction channel! To this day, George & Ryan are it for me. They can't be beat!
I like Alex Hefner's reaction channel but Ryan and George are the OG's for me.
Caligula's Horse presents a beautiful balance between heavy and clean, Y'all should react to them, I'm addicted
Hell yeah! I think theyd like Cannons Mouth alot.
I've been hooked on The Tempest since I first heard that one. Caligulas Horse crushed it with this one
@@KipOnDaFlip I think, just from their previous experiences with prog bands, Marigold or Daughter of the Mountain would be safer options for them to get explored more. Both feature extended sections that make it easy to "find a groove" and are easily digestible.
@@ElRuinero dude, I had only heard bits and pieces of songs from them before last week and I think I've had their entire discography on repeat for like the 5th or 6th day in a row now. They're excellent lol
@@KipOnDaFlip or Will's Song
Yo I was just in the middle of binging all of your Gojira videos and then got this notification. Hell yeah!
I just wanted to say I love you guys and have been following you all for about 2 years now. It's fun to watch you giys grow musically, and I in turn have grown some wirh you. Keep it rocking, fellas!
Born in Winter is absolutely my favourite, too. Gojira never fails to interest me, though.
definitely one of the most unique metal songs ive heard
Thank you guys for introducing me to Gogira. I have heard of them before, but never took the time to listen. I like the explanation you give in the end, keep it up. It's nice to hear the way you approach different rhythms and styles, and how music affects you. Balance is everything. Shout out to Brazil, guys! Wish you all the best! 👊🏼
Please React to Esoteric Surgery- Gojira
My favourite Gojira song 🤟🏻
or the cell
@@joshforeman1648 Same here!
YOU HAVE THE POWER TO HEAL YOURSELF
How about A Sight to Behold?
The intro actually reminded me of Global Warming a bit
whole song reminds me of a lot of gojiras other stuff, besides the guitar effect used near the end, even though its playing the same ole.... idk.... maybe they shouldn't have come to new york and taken on recording a new mcloud album. check out mcloud "prostitucia" though, old school
There are similarities from many of Gojira songs. The tapping of the neck of the guitar and the melodic screaming are present throughout Gojira's songs. See examples like Ouroboros, The Cell, Born in Winter.. the list goes on. This single is very Gojira-like and nothing mind blowingly new which to me is a good thing. Hopefully they bring something new with the album and if not then hey, at least we get an album full of Gojira we know and love.
@@EhtaZUGGE For me it's undoubtedly close to The Wild Healer.
Thematically it fits with global warming too
@@shryggur yeah, exactly actually when I first listened to this new song and then tried to sing or hum it, I ended up humming the simple melody from around the end of The Wild Healer, played by bass, over the chorus riff. I still do it, I think it somewhat more memorable than melody of the chorus, and fits perfectly.
This was more of a message to the world than a song. And even then, it's better than any song most bands will ever create.
That's kinda the Gojira M.O.
I love all of it. Where they may be heading is growth. Amazing song.
I'd love to see you guys react to G.O.A.T. by Polyphia (Yas is another good one). They're instrumental but they groove so hard it almost hurts. I'm like a billion percent positive that your jaws would drop if you listen to them.
Excellent idea, that song (and band) is amazing
I second G.O.A.T. by polyphia. Pagan pt. 2 by vitalism would be great too.
Oh yes !! One thousand time yes !!! (Or Goose by Polyphia too...)
They definitely need to do this song.
G.O.A.T. is fire, guys will enjoy it
!
They are the masters of story telling. Absolute sountrack to put to a visual plane. Knocked it out of the park. Heavy has many meanings the message is pretty heavy .
The Red Rocks gig was in May of 2017. I was fortunate enough to attend that show - Gojira crushed it, with a blood red moon rising over the venue during their set. I've got goosebumps typing about it :P
I dig this new song, and while I think it's not as experimental as Gojira tunes go, I look forward to seeing how it fits in the context of the album as a whole.
Thanks for continuing to be an awesome source of entertainment, dudes - I always enjoy getting to see y'all experience music
Bad ass experience!
Seconding the Opeth - Harlequin Forest request. It's mostly clean-sung with some growls here and there. As for lighter, prog rock Opeth, y'all need to do Windowpane or In My Time of Need.
Or the Drapery Falls!
Harlequin Forest is my favorite Opeth song! Great choice!
I love the hypnotic nature of harlequin forest, but i feel like it will bore them
To bid you farewell!!!!!!
Final Lost in Vegas Opeth reaction for either Windowpane or To Bid You Farewell to show the clean side of Opeth that they haven't touched on. Then that's it, finished with Opeth. Done. Let the boys listen them in their own time (if they feel like it) so other bands can get a chance.
"There is a lot of newer metal rock that we've heard from bands that have done their thing in the past, I guess I've been a little let down a bit, you know i'm not let down from this. But i'm intrigued to see, you know, what else they offer, what are their boundaries that they are going to push, because that's what I love about Gojira" - And with that statement, its now official: George has become an actual 'metal head' with a directive and angle. Now you see what us 'cynical' ones are about.
I would highly recommend listening to more Gojira songs like Gift of Guilt, Only Pain, The Shooting Star, Toxic Garbage Island, Where Dragons Dwell or anything from the Poland 2018 concert
Dig deep into their channel. They've done all those
Man i love this channel. You guys have come so far in your metal appreciation and taste in the 2 years or so of your content i have been following. Opening up metal to those who may not have discovered it is so fuckin great.
Would be cool to see you guys react to the new Mastodon song Fallen Torches. Think you would love the groove in it. Its great!
You guys are awesome. You can tell you really get into the music. Your Pneuma reactions, the song and Danny Carey drumming are by far my favorites.
My first thought when I heard it was Oroborus. The methods for playing the two riffs are different, but they wind up sounding very similar!
Totally agree... and I must add: Oroborus is a lot more memorable,
Hey
Cletus Marbury Ayyyy
Ultraspontane That’s how Oroborus is played. Another World is done with pull-offs and palm mutes. I love the way they’re able to use things like tapping to make creative and interesting riffs without resorting to it being a trick for soloing.
This is where I discovered Gojira and fell in love with the channel and Gojira!!! You guys should do some metalcore!! Bands like Architects, Northlane, Currents, Polaris.
Would love to see you guys do a Kvelertak song. Serious aggression, unbelievable musicality and highly talented song writing. They are a mesh of so many influences...
Yes!!
Synchronized Head Bop, Hand Gestures, A “Yea!” In 1 Minute. It’s A Hit.
Agalloch - Not Unlike The Waves
PLEASE YES TO THIS ! ! !
I have been asking for Agalloch for years now.
YES! Please
or Black Lake Nidstång. Or any other Agalloch song lol. One of the greatest bands ever.
Co ol Me too, and Alcest and Neurosis. I’d love to hear them react to either Limbs or In the Shadow of Our Pale Companion by Agalloch. And I’d love for them to react to Purify by Neurosis and Oiseaux de Proie by Alcest too
or falling snow
I am in love with this song and video! It's been on repeat last couple days
Nice!
Met you guys at The House of Blues at Gojira's show last year. Will never forget that night.
Always glad to watch your videos. Take care, guys!
Please do the new Mastodon song "Fallen Torches"
Id pay to see that
I do find it interesting that they panned Mastadon but this hits for them.
Love your reaction and very glad you used the video - it takes the song to another dimension!
This sounds like a mix of early In Flames, Dark Tranquillity and newer Amorphis (especially the vocal harmonies in the solo bridge part). So with that being said, I have a strong feeling the boys will LOVE melodic death metal. Especially Dark Tranquillity, In Flames, Soilwork, At the Gates, Children of Bodom, Edge of Sanity, Amorphis etc
I love your genuine love of Gojira. Like it makes me happy that they opened up a whole new area of music for y'all. And the Red Rocks show was in 2017 with Opeth and Devin Townsend. One of the best shows I've ever seen ever.
More Opeth reactions please! Baying of the Hounds ,Burden or Harlequin Forest.
Love that you guys mentioned both oroborus and born in winter. Exactly my thoughts too. Your guys journey into metal has been amazing to watch. Top quality
So is Another World showing Gojira arriving in the late the aftermath of Devin Townsend- Stormbending?
I've been waiting for this since I saw they released a single. Love y'all!
You guys need to check-out
Metallica - Disposable Heroes. One of their heaviest and its groovy and just badass song!
And Hand of Doom by Black Sabbath
Groovy as well and the lyrics deal with veterans of the Vietnam war coming back and turning to drugs
Disposable Heroes 👍👍
Definitely disposable heroes
I was waiting for this!
This video has that Absolution feeling to it....by MUSE.
Arpeggios
@@LemonMeIon yup. And the video itself. Matt, Dom & Chris traveling back to earth (london) to see it destroyed. Here it's paris...
Another great Gojira video and reaction. Keep up the good work. Cheers!
Oh man I haven't heard this song yet so I'll be listening with you guys for the first time! Also please check out Cult Of Luna - Nightwalkers, this band will probably be a highlight of your channel the same way Gojira is!
Been waiting on them to react to Cult of Luna. They fire!
Some other great Cult of Luna Songs:
Leave me here
The Wreck of SS Needle
In Awe Of
Cygnus
The Fall
These are all great songs worth checking out!
They'd dig I:The Weapon for sure.
Gojira’s Another World’s video and song are a masterpiece.
Even the lyrics, albeit brief, are masterful. This is easily one of the best music videos ever made by easily one of the best rock bands in the world.
It’s definitely one of Gojira’s poppiest tracks, but the lyrics really help pull that through (the verse lyrics surprised me. They’re great).
I’ve really enjoyed the review videos you guys have been making. Keep up the great work. Love it!
Guys, PLEASE PLEASE react to Slaughter to Prevail - Demolisher. That song exploded onto the metal scene this year!
I've loved watching you guys grow in appreciation for the different genres and your breakdowns on the music. It's also helped me to appreciate more artists as well. That being said, I'd like to see you guys do Motograter - Down. Just saying I think you'd like it.
I can't believe you haven't done Bolt Thrower yet
Same. I feel like they would really dig The Killchain. Massive groove.
@@tywurth8137 of there are so many. Contact Wait Out would be a favorite from me but I think they'd love When Cannons Fade
The Killchain or When Cannons Fade for sure
Cenotaph
Agreed. I love them
Just what I was expecting. You guys are sick!🖤
Ulver - Rolling Stone
Amenra - Boden
Porcupine Tree - Russia On Ice
I wonder if they would dig the opener for bergtatt
Porcupine Tree....man I love Russia on Ice but that's a terrrible recommendation for a listener reaction. Trains, Sound of Muzak are much better introductory songs. I know they did Fear of a Blank Planet but even that was a bad first up recommendation IMO.
This is one of my favorite songs rn shit slaps. Glad y'all gave it a shot
I’m never giving up this fight you guys... PLEASE DO ARCHITECTS!!! I don’t even care what song at this point! Whatever’s most popular! Anything! I promise you’ll love it
So glad to see another Gojira reaction
Never clicked on a video as fast as I just did!!😂😂😂😂
You guys helped get me into Gojira, and I thank you for that.
If I may make a suggestion... "CMFT Must be Stopped" needs to make an appearance here.
The Gods Gojira themselves are back!!
You fellas never cease to amaze me
Hope all is well in the valley
Peace!!!
GOJIRA!!!!! Saw them live with Metallica and avenged sevenfold
Ay I love the Profile Picture, all hail Claudio 🤍
Jeopardy Official hell yeah man I love Coheed!
San Francisco?
Dammit! I love you guys. Just authentic, period.
The vocals really remind me, in tone, of Mastondon's harsh vocals. Based on George's comments about the vocals, you guys should try Primordial (I consider them semi-harsh vocals), or Samael (very understandable harsh vocals). There's another band I think fits in the category of clear, understandable, harsh vocals, but I can't think of it right now.
This might be one of my favorite Gojira songs. I'm so disappointed that they weren't on 70,000 Tons of Metal a few years ago. I still haven't seen them live.
BTW, you guys should contact Andy ("The Skipper") and see if he can get you on the next 70,000 Tons of Metal cruise - which is likely gonna be 2022. But I think you guys would enjoy it, not only for the musical experience, but for the experience of the whole cruise and being a part of the metal community in way you would never imagine.
Lamb of God?
this is great appetizer for the new album, and thanks for the inside info about September release date ;)
I recently found out their studio is 15 minutes from my apartment and my self control has never been so tested
I saw Gojira last year at Knotfest in Va. Beach. Because of that show, I downloaded all their tunes and LOOOOVE them!!! This new track is smokin hot!!!!
Love your videos!!!! (Especially the Rush vids!)
New Mastodon song is worth checking out too.
Such an incredible song. Really amazing message. Hell yeah.
Isis - In Fiction
YES! The kings of build ups into heavy climax.
Thanks for covering this one guys! 👍👍
The last time i was this early, my girlfriend was disappointed
Yeah songs like this go to show that not all metal has to be super fast & aggressive & full of technical riffing. Simple yet effective AF & has a message to deliver on top of that. 😊👌
Mastodon has a new Song Fallen Torches. Definitely do that next
Oooa, thanks... Nice recommendation, I didn't know they were releasing anything soon.
It's dank. Definitely the heaviest thing in a while
To my ears this song is perfect! The video is a great compliment to it. I hope it gets more people into bands of any kind.
Could you guys please react to domination by Pantera live in Moscow in 1991
Been waiting for this video. This song really hits
Also love the Oroborous call out
Since I'm early-ish for once...
*clears throat*
Black Crown Initiate - Belie the Machine
I love yall's channel. Kinda replaced alot of my social life during this epidemic. Thanks for that y'all. Hope y'all are doin' good.
Amorphis - The Bee ... Interested to see what you make of it..
Like you guys. Good stuff and input. Great song and great band. About to purchase my tickets to see them in Houston.
Enjoyed the vid as always fellas.
Been a bit slack in voicing what I think you guys should react too but I'd love to see a video on Haken.
The song "1985" should kick you off in the right direction. I'm a mega fan of theirs and basically can't pick one song from another to recommend so give me a hand here people & show ya support with some "thumbs up" 🤘😬🤘
👏👏👏🤯🤯🤯👏👏👏
U guys r so awesome! Keep at it 😂 So cool u got to hang out with the dudes!!
Cult Of Luna - Ghost Trail
Looking forward to this in Sept. Thanks for the preview.
They are releasing a new album in september ?
Alcest - Les Jardins De Minuit
Cult Of Luna - Finland
Katatonia - July
YES. We finally need to get some Alcest on this channel!
@Morbid Angel is better than Death That's... uh... an uncomfortable amount of NSBM there
@Morbid Angel is better than Death Peste Noire is like one of the most popular NS bands and when you look up Nécropole it literally says "lyrical themes: anti-semitism"
I have been waiting for this for years!!
I know...lol
Feels like I’ve said this 100 time’s... you like this then check out Killing Joke, for sure inspired Gojira
Criminally overlooked. Night Time may not be a heavy album but tracks like Multitudes and pf course Love Like Blood carry that backbeat that Gojira and some of the better metal bands feed off.
Honestly the best music reacts channel on CZcams
Never really watched the rock vids. Watched all the raps ones but this one was interesting
I'm the exact opposite lol I recently watched the 'Logic' video
I am one of your big Gojira Fan and i can't say that i am thirstier after hearing how heavy this song was. They have this way to make you feel the music very well. For me Ryan Gojira are trully transcender. ;) Love you guys Love France From Québec
