They extended this song on purpose. The studio version is much shorter. Notice the drumming part toward the end. Almost 5 minutes of non stop double bass! It is extremely technical. Mario is a beast

Studio version is also much better IMO. The ending section is so powerful on the album, I can't help but picture a shirtless warrior standing atop a mountain summoning the dragons with his guttural screams. Come and get me motherfuckers lol.
The lyrics of the song definitely invoke the words of JBP and Carl Jung, in regards to facing your shadow.
It's probably cuz it's a song that fades out & you can't exactly do that live lol. So, they just kinda let it go on.
Obviously they couldn’t do the fading live. But they know how huge potential the song has and the special energy was released. Such a great perfomance. Maybe the studio version is better, but sometimes it’s all about the energy.

If Vin and Sori don't know how to describe Gojira's "it" factor, that just proves my idea that there is something just so special about this band. They're so talented, but there's even more there in the sound that even some of my non metalhead friends can resonate with it.

YESSSS!!!! You guys are legends!!! Thank God you got around to this. The lyrics are so powerful, especially at the end. Plus the unsung lyrics the band includes:
"Dragons are the myth alive in the hearts of men".
This is just such a great live video of them, so powerful, and the crowd goes ape shit. And yea they extended and exaggerated the song being the last song in the set, Joe's screams during the quiet break in the song are just epic.

Yes!!!Another Gojira song! You guys are awsome. I love these guys,they have such a unique sound and they go hard. You can tell they give it 110% and leave it all on stage. They'll surprise you musically,they'll totally switch directions in the middle of a song,throw in some strange instrumentation,they're not predictable at all.I love that.Glad to hear everything is coming along with the new addition as well 😎🤘
My favorite band . So unique and they never show their hand. I believe they are often times playing way under their actual abilities on purpose to leave room to expand the musical landscape. Very unique vision these guys have.

Gojira is amazing. If you two aren't familiar with them I highly recommend giving their catalog a listen. If you like more metal-ish stuff like this song, go for the entire album "From Mars to Sirius". If you like a little less metal and more melody their newer stuff is good too. As a metal fan, finding Gojira was like a 2nd Christmas.

I would really enjoy it if you guys could dive into Terra Incognita and The Link. Gojira's earlier albums highlight their roots, and some of their best work IMO. Death of Me, Indians, Spacetime, Terra Incognita, The Link, Remembrance, etc. Cant really go wrong. 😊
not a huge fan of Terra Incognita but The Link is really amazing! Waaayy underrated
i think, during that breakdown, they were literally trying to create sounds that would come from a place where dragons would live. Joe trying to re create a dragon's cry with his guitar, mario providing a nice ambiance with nice accents with the drums. Honestly, Really cool part of this live performance

A very special song. The live version is the best. They actually did it for Alive in Athens but its not on the DVD because the footage was to badly corrupted. The CD version from Alive in Athens is incredible though.

Tickets for that go on sale Friday morning. I was able to purchase mine already but that’s because Megadeth is not on the bill for my city. Stone sour is opening for Ozzy at my date. I would have preferred Megadeth any day over Stone Sour.

This Song is awesome, love it. They extended it for this concert, the "silent" part in the middle section ist not on the studio version and the end is way shorter, slowly fading out. This liver version really gives it an additional something... can't name it, but I like it.
