AAAAS YOOOUUU WIIIISH!
"As you wish." Such an epic line, and everyone immediately recognises it whenever I quote it. Cary Elwes is so charming in this movie.
The Princess Bride is an amazing movie. I hope they don't remake it.
If they try to do a remake, just remeber'Dear God, what is that Thing!?.' I Love The Princess Bride always.
The phrase existed before the movie did. It was just glamorized by the movie.
I’m sorry everytime Cary Elwes I’m a huge sucker for that line 😊
The Princess Bride is a absolute classic it’s great fun
The Princess Bride is a gem.
AAAAS YOOOUUU WIIIISH!
Love it! ❤
"You waited." From the Lake House melts me every time.
"As you wish" is iconic and The Princess Bride is a delight! 💖
"As you wish" from The Princess Bride and "What do you wanna to be married to me for anyway. So I can kiss you anytime I want" from Sweet Home Alabama are my favourite. As well as "...her love is like the wind. You can't see it but you can feel it" from A Walk to Remember and of course when times are tough in the relationship "what do you want" from The Notebook.
Can't believe "What do you want?!" Isn't on this list. It's the most meme-able of any romance movie. I guess the Notebook doesn't count as a comedy though 😂
"I used to think, and really believe that there was one true love for everyone, and if you fought hard enough for that person, your one true love would always work out. It sounded good to me when I was younger, but it just doesn't work that way."
(Crazy Stupid Love, 2011)
"I'll have what she's having" is a quote i see myself saying at a restaurant with my future girlfriend. Happy tuesday afternoon, Emily. Take care and God bless you, greetings from Colombia to you as well.
The Princess Bride definitely should have been #1. Also, loved the Bridget Jones scene and of course the brilliant When Harry Met Sally.
Snap it out is the most common one and it's cool that Cher is willing to recreate that moment.
Agreed, I usually quote it out of context, with not many initially realising it's from a movie.
Almost me and everyone I know says it when people talk too much or daydream when I was younger. I had no idea it was from a movie until I was older.
"As you wish" I think should have been higher up on the list, my family used to say it all the time to each other. Just a little side note here, my niece can say the line that Mandy Patinkin says in that movie with the exact same accent 😂
Fools rush in is one of my favorite romcoms
I use a lot "as you wish" and "my name is inigo montoya", i just love those perfect sentences. I also use a lot the sentence "good afterrnoon, good evening and good night" from the truman show.
Have fun storming the castle!
I love "As You Wish" so muchhhhhhhhhhhh
I thought of "Here's lookin' at you, kid" by the IMMORTAL Humphrey Bogart from "Casablanca", but "Casablanca" is not a comedy... right?
Very very great epic list I like it a lot very very great job mis mojo one of my absolute favorite list ever 😊❤
It helps when the actor doesn't Mumble the line and we can hear the words
My personal favorite was from Two Week Notice: “You’re the voice in my head.”
"you make me want to be a better man" gets me each and every time lol
AS YOU WISH = I love you 😢🩷
I liked the notebook but my 2 faves were the glass house with Keanu Reeves..and The best of me❤
Inconceivable!
there are many in this list I've never heard in real life.
Even before Jerry McGuire came out my wife had told me many times the phrase, “you complete me”. She also used to tell that to people that would ask why she loved me, we were so much polar opposites in many ways. I’m an old southern biker from a very rough past and she was born and raised into a very close knit Irish Catholic family from San Francisco. Yet just as she said, she completed me. ❤
My sister and I saw When Harry Met Sally for the first time for the first time about a year ago and then I saw it again about a moth ago. The first time we saw it we were both laughing so hard! 😂 I couldn’t stop laughing and I couldn’t breathe!
I was a guest at a comic con, seated next to Cary Elwes. It took every ounce of self control to not ask him to say "As you wish" to me. I kinda regret that I didn't ask! 😂
Some good ones were missed...
TERMS OF ENDEARMENT: Aurora: "What is it that makes you so insistent on shocking and insulting me? ... Why do you do it?" Garrett: "I'll tell you, Aurora. I don't know what it is about you, but you do bring out the devil in me."
THE APARTMENT: C.C.: "Please, Miss Kubelik, you got to promise me you won't do anything foolish." Fran: "Who'd care?" C.C.: "I would." Fran: "Why can't I ever fall in love with someone nice like you?"
WHAT'S UP, DOC?: Judy: "Love means never having to say you're sorry." Howard: "That's the dumbest thing I ever heard." (The character is played by Ryan O'Neal, who starred in LOVE STORY, the origin of the line that Barbra Streisand's character quotes facetiously.)
SOME LIKE IT HOT: Jerry (disguised as a woman): "Osgood, I'm gonna level with you. We can't get married at all." Osgood: "Why not?" Jerry: "Well, in the first place, I'm not a natural blonde." Osgood: "Doesn't matter." Jerry: "I smoke! I smoke all the time!" Osgood: "I don't care." Jerry: "Well, I have a terrible past. For three years now, I've been living with a saxophone player." Osgood: "I forgive you." Jerry: [tragically] "I can never have children!" Osgood: "We can adopt some." Jerry: "But you don't understand, Osgood! Ohh... [pulls off his wig, speaks in his normal voice] I'm a man!" Osgood: [shrugs] "Well, nobody's perfect!"
You can use 'Hello. My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die' in day to day life, youve just got to really want it 😂
What!? The As Good As It Gets line makes the after thoughts? “You make me want to be a better man” is a better line then that ridiculous line from Notting Hill.
The number one should be “nobody puts Baby in a corner” 😉
Idk guys, I'm able to use indigo's line quite efficiently in every day life. For example "hello, my name is inigo Montoya, you drank my coffee. Prepare to die." Or if my husband wants to make my coffee and then forgets and I want to tease him a bit, I'll say "hello, my name is inigo Montoya, you didn't make my coffee. Prepare to die." And the list goes on. It can be done.
I was going to say “I can fix that” from holes but that movie isn’t a Romcom 😂
Don't ask what I do for a living. But from "Princess Bride," I get a lot of milage out of "Rest well, and dream of large women."
Let's make sure to credit Mr Rogers with being the first person on camera to say "I like you very much, just as you are".
What?! No, “Say hello to my little friend!”?!😮
Are there any diverse rom com references?
Always’-Snape
An oldie but still good was love means never happened to say you're sorry.
Crap and a lie in the real world.
Who doesnt use my name is inigo montoya
Have fun storming the castle
As you wish is also song by a kpop group wjsn
As you wish !
I say as you wish with my wife whenever she ask me for something or what’s me to do something
Justin Long is so hot. Change my mind lol
I'm a little disappointed that "You make me want to be a better man" didn't get more respect 😕
Of course you're right it is crap. But it does sound good when Ali mcgraw Isays it.
Can`t fcking stand Carey Elwes, that`s the extent of him as an actor, a handsome face, he`s terrible when he really tries to act
“You complete me” followed by “you had me at hello” has me in tears every time, without fail.
It’s like -LINE- and then BAM - pass me the tissues! 😭😭🫣🫣
I love As You Wish from the Princess Bride 🩷 and You’re My Exception from He’s just not that into you ❤️
Oh I have so faked it 😂
Marilyn Monroe “ I’ve got this big day tomorrow “ @MsMojo
