They needed the actual story. So much was left out. Like how the fire was the reason for the wedding at all.

Whats funny about these so called Rom Coms is that they're all plot armour for deep psychological issues if not deep seated neurosis. ❤😂
A couple whose parents are having an affair. The couple who begin their relationship telling each other every single relationship faux pax and failure ❤😂

Compared to previous romantic movies or RomComs, such as Sense and Sensibility or Vicky, Christina, Barcelona, these feel really shallow and fake.
Curious...How did you ever pair up those two stories in the same comment and label them as Rom.Coms? One is classic and timeless story of sisters in Regency Era and other is more like sister wives fantasy but just rubbish masquerading as modern, sophisticated look at junior high antics in adults who are not funny but just sad, jealous and dysfunctional. Now 50 first dates is a Rom Com from top to bottom, not Jane Austen and not an excuse for two hot at the time actresses to kiss and let a gross man control their lives like gullible teens with daddy issues. AND
This movie here in video is just made for TV style cute. Nothing too complicated I bet.

Or a touching coming of age period, ensemble piece about sisters, that is more drama with some comedy and romance mixed in, just like real life? Austen is more situational comedy and comedy of errors because of her wit and observations, but the story is about the changes her heroines go through rather than the humorous focus of a May-December couple like vast majority of rom-coms. But that's my opinion
Maybe clueless could be seen as a rom com but it's not about the couple it's about the growth of the heroine still and that's the funniest version of Emma to most people and modernized for rom com consumers. But I do agree this movie looks made for TV and is supposed to be a rom com according to the trailer yet trailers can be VERY deceptive. Lol
