We had been cleaning the forest next to our home and burning away branches in a bonfire, and then next day as I was walking by, it was still smoking and looked so mystical, that I got myself a chair and jouhikko and made a little recording in this rather archaic view. In the background you can also hear gunshots thanks to our neighbors who were practicing for the upcoming moose-hunting-season. 😢
This is a traditional Finnish melody played with jouhikko (Karelian Bowed Lyre) and sung with a Vedic mantra for deliverance and joy: the Hare Krishna-mantra. 🎵
Hare Krishna Hare Krishna
Krishna Krishna Hare Hare
Hare Rama Hare Rama
Rama Rama Hare Hare
I'm really into Vedic culture and philosophy, and practice daily Krishna consciousness. I also love the old ways of all human cultures, wherein I find much more dignity and purpose. Since a kid I've been also very tuned in to nature and Finnish lore.
Thanks for listening! Hare Krishna!

Hare Krishna-mantra sopii laulettavaksi kaikkien kahdeksanjakoisten laulujen päälle, joita on monia! Kokeile vaikka! 😄
Hare Krishna Hare Krishna
Krishna Krishna Hare Hare
Hare Rama Hare Rama
Rama Rama Hare Hare

"Bhakti-joogan menetelmä on joogamenetelmistä korkein, ja tässä menetelmässä Herran nimien laulaminen on antaumuksellisen palvelun aktiviteeteista etummaisin. Pyhää nimeä laulamalla voidaan saavuttaa nirvāṇan taso, eli vapautus aineellisesta olemassaolosta, ja näin lisätä elämän nautinnollisuutta henkisen olemassaolon tasolla, kuten Herra Caitanya kuvailee: ānandāmbudhi-vardhanam*. Tässä olotilassa aineellinen rikkaus, kuninkaallinen valtaistuin tai edes koko planeetan hallitsijuus eivät herätä mitään mielenkiintoa. Tätä tilannetta kutsutaan 'viraktir anyatra syāt' (SB 11.2.42) - tämä on antaumuksellisen palvelun tuloksena."
- Srila Prabhupada
The sound of the lyre reminds me of my people's kemenche , beautiful music
Yes! They are very similar. :)
Hail all Finno-Ugric Nations and Tribes. May The Sky God protect us from the darkness. Beautiful presentation. Dear to my ears.

I’ve been searching and searching for your video for over a year! Lost it on my old “saved” CZcams favorites! STUNNING and BEAUTIFUL music! Activates my Finnish DNA🩷❤️🧡 Kiitos, Maureen
Aww, thank you! It makes me happy to hear that this video can bring joy to you, and even activate your Finnish DNA, haha, great! 😍
This is authentic genuine Vedic singing if our Hyperborean ancestors.....at least it soynds that way....Nordic maidwn singing sanscrit.. suits well
Thank you for your nice comment! And I learnt a new word - hyperborean! Reminds me of vedic demigods living on heavenly planets... though that is definitely not Finland, at least not during winter... 😄 What is funny about sanskrit, is that every language of the world has similarities or same words with it... it is the mother-language, making also the vedic culture origin of other cultures. Interesting!
This combination of Finnish and Indian is beautiful!
Thank you! I love world music and combinating different cultures. ☺
With eyes open I feel the slight chill of the wind . With ears open I feel a warm breeze . Very pleasing, thank you
Beautifully said, thank you!
Beautiful.

Thank you dear! I also am intrigued by the raw and human sound of this ancient instrument. :)

Many Sanskrit texts are in the Anuṣṭubh meter which has eight syllables per line, just like the Kalevala meter:) I sometimes sing them to this melody too.
I love this correlation! Awesome! What are your favorite mantras to sing? 🙂
@@gopalalaakso I've often used the first verses of the Bhagavad Gītā ("dharma-kṣetre kuru-kṣetre" etc). I can't say they're my favorites, but I memorized them in my teens when I first encountered the language, and that's why they're easy for me:)
@@viznut Nice! First verses of the Gita have very meaningful power in them, I think they suit well this melody. :)

:) Selle on ehitanud Jouni Kurki Leppävirtast, temaga saab ühendust võtta: joneyri(at)gmail.com
I'm singing Hare Krishna - mantra, which is also called maha-mantra, meaning that it contains ALL the mantras in it, and is very powerful. It is from veda-science. It can be chanted for many purposes, but the most important is to awaken love for Supreme Personality of God - Krishna - and His pleasure potency / energy / Goddess Srimati Radharani. To remember that we are small part of them, a servant of the complete whole. And the mood is like that of a children crying for its mother - please let me serve You again.
Finland?
Yes, in FInland, and a Finnish traditional tune with mantra-twist.
Yes
@larry_the_mutant It's just me, Kunjarani! We had been cleaning the woods a bit and burning away branches, and the next morning I spotted it was still smoking, and figured why not make a cool video. :)
@larry_the_mutant Thanks! The melody is a traditional Finnish tune, and I just sing it with Hare Krishna-mantra. I'm really into Vedic culture and philosophy, and practice daily Krishna consciousness. I also love the old ways of all human cultures, wherein I find much more dignity and purpose. Since a kid I've been also very tuned in to nature and Finnish lore. I do acknowledge forest spirits etc. and feel harmony with them also through Hare Krishna-mantra and our off-grid way of life, where we value Mother Nature.
@larry_the_mutant Thanks! It's great, can't imagine living in city amidst all the noise, hectism and stressed people and using water toilets etc., yack. 😂 This tune is traditional, so it has many variations, this version I heard from a record which was collected from Karelia in the late 1800. It is similar to "Vaka Vanha Väinämöinen" .
Jouhikko,Narada Munin soitin🤔😊
Olisikohan! 🎵🎶
What Finnish music has to do with Khrashna?
Interesting question! What it does not have to do with Krishna? The first thing and original sound in the creation was Aum, vibrated by Krishna, and everything emanated from that. Krishna is the supreme cause all causes, absolute, and through His energies has created all the spiritual and material universes, including one tiny planet called Earth, where is one tiny continent called Europe, where is one tiny country called Finland. 🙃
Krishna is not just some mythological god from India, but actually He is _the_ god. Some religions know little bit about god, and focus mainly on moral etc., and in some religions there is also more detailed descriptions of Him and His activities. He is not just some guy sitting on top of a cloud and throwing lightings and punishing people. All religions talk about same god. If you are interested, you can study vedic literature and find out more.🤓
@@gopalalaakso Are you suggesting that the world was created by the act of farting by some guy called Krshna? It's not very nice is it?
@@adolfhitlerowicztrocki495 I might suggest some reading glasses for you, nothing more. 😄

There is theory among scientists that Proto-Indo-European language has many to do with proto-Uralic (proto-Finno-Ugric) language.. I think you can understand what that means.. From my own experience, Finno-Ugric people are culturally much closer to Indo-Europeans than to other peoples, including e.g., Turkic..

Finnish is différent from sweden music ?
Well yes, little different, but not so much. Swedish folk might be little bit more in major key, and Finnish folk tends to be less gimmicky. And of course languages are different.

Here is the Google translation of the above quote - by Srila Prabhupada: "The method of Bhakti yoga is the highest of the yogic methods, and in this method the chanting of the Lord's names is foremost among the activities of devotional service. By chanting the holy name, one can attain the level of nirvāṇa, or liberation from material existence, and thus increase the enjoyment of life at the level of spiritual existence, as described by Lord Caitanya: ānandāmbudhi- vardhanam*. In this state of being, material wealth, a royal throne or even rulership of the entire planet do not attract any interest. This state is called 'viraktir anyatra syāt' (SB 11.2.42) - this is the result of devotional service."
As Messiah Yahushua himself taught... "Repent for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand." (Matthew 4:17)
We have all been deceived by the devil ha'satan and the fallen angels of the kingdom of darkness. Do not be decieved dear sister. Your soul knows the truth and testifies of it. If you've never read the Bible for yourself by yourself, notes likely the best time. Call out to your Heavenly Father YaHuWaH Elohiym Most High, the ONLY self existent Mighty One of Yisra'el, creator of the heavens and earth, who created mankind in his image and likeness. May YAH Most High bring you into the truth, the whole truth without any leaven and deceptions of the devil ha'satan. In Messiah Yahushua's name aw-mane. HalleluYAH
Hallelujah!
