Stability Ball Exercises for Seniors & Beginners // Fun Workout with Dumbbells

- Fun 20 minute workout using a balance / stability ball!
We will work our entire body in a seated position. There will be NO rolling back or any floor work! If you do not have a big ball you can do most of the exercises in a seated position in a chair. Light hand weights can also be used for the arm strength section of the workout.
This workout is fun and easy to follow at your own pace. It includes exercises that are wonderful for the hips and lower back.
The wider to step your legs out, the more stable or better balance you will have. If your legs are set more narrow it will be more of a challenge. Make the workout your own!

Oh my gosh I loved this so much. I’m almost 66 and a couple of these exercises took me back to my childhood!!! Remember hoppity-hops? Lol. And the inner thigh squeezes….yep, same muscles when posting on a horse! Thanks Lauren. We need to tap into our hidden child from time to time! ❤

Thank you for a great, gentle workout! I'm recovering from a broken foot and sprained ankle. I haven't been able to do my normal workouts which are mostly standing. I'm so happy I found this ! Very little weight bearing on my healing ankle/foot! Thank you!

Finally I can use my exercise ball! I've had one for years, but never really had any instructions on what kind of exercises to do. I can now my grandkids "it's not a toy" (lol).

This was a fun, but somewhat challenging workout. I loved the bouncing part (felt like a kid)! My grandkids used to play with my stability ball and it had lost some air, so I pumped it up and it works better. Now it's Nana's ball again! I will be doing this one as well as your other stability ball workouts to challenge my balance more, Lauren! I followed with your Relaxing Routine for Bedtime or Anytime Stretch!

When I first got my stability ball, I thought "this is actually fun!" After this workout, whew! This one was tough. I hung in there to the end, but I have to admit to resting after a few of the reps. But! I refuse to quit.

At this time I don’t have a specific brand that I recommend, I find them all to be fairly similar. Pay attention to the size though! I’m guessing you will need a 65 inch. If I remember correctly you said you were tall.

I got my stability ball from a friend. How do I blow it up?
Depends on the ball. Usually a bike pump with a needle works.

I found most of this easy until the arm weights !?! WTH?? And I’ve been working out again for 10 months. Can seniors really do these?? 😂😂😂
Maybe use lighter weights next time?
good workout however I would caution about the OUCH. If your body says ouch, don't do it! I hurt myself in yoga with Jane Fonda, many years ago, "feel the burn" (which Jane says she now regrets!) and suffered chronic pain for 20 years, with many other consequences. Please caution people about taking it easy.
Thanks for the feedback. I feel that it's fairly obvious that I'm not in pain or promoting viewers to be in pain. In most of my videos I'm constantly saying: "start slow, you do you, and that exercises should never be painful". I apologize if this "ouch" came off in the wrong way. I'm simply sympathizing with my viewers in a way that's saying "hey, I feel this too".
