    Lincoln, this was great! Just listening to your discussion, seeing and jotting down games. This was so informative and enjoyable. There were a TON of Games I didn’t know about, and others like Azul that I love watching on CZcams. Merry Christmas guys!

    The "3 player werewolf" game you came up with is basically Win, Lose, Banana. The difference is in WLB, one person is the designated "voter" and the other two have to convince the voter that they are the banana. This also mimics one of the final 3 scenarios that sometimes happens in werewolf (where 1 player is clearly a villager).

    What a great show you have. I got into board games about a year ago and have bought several games because of Game NIght episodes I have watched....current favorite is circus flohcati. If my family plays the Santa role correctly, I should get several more of the games you showcased on the 25th.

    @ 12:00 - I'm completely on board with playing games multiple times in a row like Dave, especially if it's something new to me. I love trying to piece together a strategy and see if I can improve on previous playthroughs. Sometimes, a game might not show it's strategic complexity in just one playthrough and the only way to uncover it is to play it multiple times. This is especially true with games that have multiple paths to victory.

    I am glad Aaron recognized 13 Days. I got it last year and my wife and I played it a lot. We haven't played it much since because we have bought new games, but I do want to play it again soon. For fun, you should check out 13 minutes which is a micro-game version of 13 days. It is no substitute for the real game, but it is cute.

    Dave, we also recently played Careers when I pulled out my old 1971 Parker Brothers edition and it was surprising how advanced that game was for the time. Being able to choose your own win conditions, "dice mitigation" through card plays, interesting decisions to make. We all really enjoyed it and my game group wants to play it again. It was one of my favorite games when I was growing up and I never got rid of it.

    • @heccubus1
      @heccubus1 Před 6 lety

      100% agree. After playing it years ago with Dave I went out and found a new version that was the original version in a new package. Some that changes in recent years are less than satisfactory. Thanks for the note and for watching.

    Here's my two-penny worth, from the UK...first-off, your Vids are great - Lincoln: I Love your stress/moral stress over cubes/cards/situations that are just A GAME! It is both endearing and frustrating (sometimes, in the words of "Frozen", 'Let it Go!') ! Nikki - you're defo the smartest..TRUST, but smile.;o)) Dave - You almost hide your Alpha-gamer, but you still betray yourself occasionally: I guess it is a product of the brilliant stuff you guys do... Aaron: You are great at being the Arbiter - controlling Dave, explaining STUFF, soothing Lincoln!! IN SUMMARY - TOP BANANA guys... Long may it continue! xxx

    Question to Linc, about this year's editing. Which episode did you work on editing the most? In reference to which episode did you cut off the most of the bloopers, goofs, or even long laughs and discussions between turns? :D

    • @heccubus1
      @heccubus1 Před 6 lety +11

      The hardest was most likely The 7th Continent, just because I was under extreme time pressure to shoot and edit it. This War of Mine was also very difficult because of the length and the tough decisions on what to leave in if we were being redundant in our discussions. Scythe, while I finished it this time last year was the toughest edit of the last 12 months. There were a few things that needed to be redone because we realized Dave was ambiguous or incorrect in a few explanations that could not be remedied with an onscreen note. So working those elements into the older timeline was a true task and not something I'd like to repeat. Having said all of that, editing is my favorite part of the whole production. When I can remove something and make the edit appear seamless brings me much joy. Thanks for the notes and for watching.

    • @thegrimdestiny
      @thegrimdestiny Před 6 lety +1

      So, once again, we can all agree that Scythe is another type of MONSTER :D
      Thanks Linc, I wish you successful and fulfilling work in the year to come. Keep up the great work.
      Cheers! :)

    It may be out of your preference zone, but would you ever consider playing one of GMT's COIN series games? They have a number of them that are not purely or even mainly wargame-ey. Or perhaps even Here I Stand or Virgin Queen? Those two may be too long for a video now that I think of it.

    • @mgk2020
      @mgk2020 Před 6 lety

      Greg S I think the COIN games are heavier, longer, and way more rules heavy than what the usually reserve for GameNight

    Can we make an effort as a board game community to eradicate the term "pimping out?" Bling works just as well without the connotation.
