I've been fixing issues inside these screens. Water still gets inside them and I try to save the customers some money (else Iose the sale all together), so go above and beyond to get that thing going. No schematics, but see bad, replace bad works, or a good old 'tink'

Love the video. Certainly not a $5 fix and shouldn't be looked as a $5 fix. Give this to someone who knows nothing about computers, you won't get a repair and will have to buy a new one ($1000+). The repair that you do is earned. Knowledge and hard work to get you to that point. That is why your time is valuable and deserves the respect of being well paid for doing what you do. Good job. Good video.

Louis - you need to take time to really clean your iron tip. Its actually polluting the contacts. That is part of the problem you were having in this video. Also, after you cleaned everything well you probably didn't need any flux, or nearly as much. General rule is clean tip once, solder once, repeat. Also, are you using 63/37 eutectic solder? Hello Louis, thanks a lot for yours tutorials;) I have a question from italy ... I have two damaged macbook. 1) macbook pro 15 retina A1398 mid 2012 with display ok but graphic card problems, many times no works boot and has graphics errors ... 2) macbook pro 15 retina A1398 late 2013 with display cracked but it works well with an external monitor. Can I use the monitor mount of A1398 mid 2012 into A1398 late 2013? (obviously the Isight webcam can't works for connectors difference 6 pin and 12 pin, and I can change the block of BT and Wifi antennas ... but if monitor works i can try this crazy mod;) thanks

why clean the pads from flux just to put flux on again? I guess you could say that it would be lightly cleaner, but till doesn't seem worth it even considering how cheap flux and alcohol is (although _time_ is not so cheap). Also it's obviously not a new thing to say, but I swear that Louis uses _objectively_ too much flux; like sure it doesn't cost much, but it's just going to take extra time to clean, and more likely to have some get somewhere where it won't be cleaned, like gunking up the other side of a board.

So if you fix the back light, does that mean they can go back to Apple and qualify for a battery change? Doesn't that mean they come right back to you afterwards because Apple fcuked something else up in the process?

Is that still the case? I thought that ship sailed when they started making curved screens and almost entirely encasing the phone in glass.
Also, sadly, their earbuds are pretty much throw away. Apparently its really hard to open them up without destroying them, which sucks when you need to replace the batteries. I rather expect earphone/buds to last longer than even a phone, and I expect a phone to last longer than 2 years.

It really depends on what kind of software development you do. I might be fine on Windows using VSCode for website development and Android Studio for my android apps. Some would prefer Vim for pretty much any kind of software development on Linux. It just depends on what are you aiming to develop and what you think would be the most productive to you.

In same time chargers power light went off. Charger power light powered up after few seconds and I can start laptop again. After few min (10-15 min) it instantly shutdown again. Same thing over and over but shorter time period every time. After few try laptop shutdown itself before windows logo appear. Do you know what should cause it? Thanks.
