I don’t think they were just following orders from Iger. I think they did exactly what they wanted to do with SW also, it just so happen to align with Iger’s demands. I think Kennedy is a true believer in this crap and Filoni is an opportunist without scruples.

Favreau was the one who managed to capture the classic SW vibes with The Mando. Then Felony got promoted and totally destroyed everything Jon built just to shoehorn his pet villainous Mary Sue Bo-Karen into Din´s rightful place. He has no moral compass and no understanding of things like three acts, foreshadowing and character development. If I butchered a school essay that hard when I was 12 I would be given a 5 (an equivalent to an F).

When I met Filoni for an interview at Lucasfilm - I did not want to work with him. This was probably around 2007/2008. I didn't say much since then until now about him or the interview. *Now, I know why my walls went up.

Fans want a rich history of character they love. Amazing well written story without any agendas or DEI. They are also sick of the directors and Disney using fans as escape goats for bad acting and badly written story. But if Directors, Actors, and writers start calling fans names and accusing them of being toxic men, racism, sexism, anti-female, or bigots with the DEI agenda. Fans will fire back and these big companies forget that what makes a movie money is the fans. You insult them with name calling and accusing them of being something just because they want a decades rich story well written without DEI. They will boycott your movies. Back when the Original trilogy was in theaters, diverse crowds of humans stood around the block waiting for tickets, all enjoying each other's company. Nobody was excluded, nobody was told, "This isn't for you!" or "You're too toxic to stand in line with us." Nothing in the movies beat us over the head with politics. This was pure, escapist entertainment, and a LOT of the fans were young men who weren't the alpha coolest bad-asses, and their friends, families and dates. These guys loved being able to escape and feel like greatness was possible. Now? Diversity and Inclusion doesn't include us, not even a little bit.

The acolyte not a star wars story, it's a cop story. They've literally taken the script of a cop show and put that in the star wars universe. That's why it starts with a murder, that's why "A jedi does not attack the unarmed", "yes they do" does not make sense....but replace jedi with cop: "A cop does not attack the unarmed", "yes they do" - boom, suddenly you get why they've put it in there. Re-watch it with that in mind and suddenly everything makes sense. It's why they said it's about solving a murder and people scratched their heads going "but...we know who did it, it' right there in the very first part"....it is about solving a murder CASE, ie the cops solving a murder case, not the audience solving a murder mystery.
It's a show about a police cover up and the surviving victim getting revenge on those cops. With the cops offing themselves or adopting the victims out of sheer guilt over what they did. They were literally so ignorant that they took peacekeeper to mean cop...not protecting the peace like Qui Gon and Obi Wan set out to do in the begining of the prequels.
Too bad that George Lucas did not make a deal (at the time he sold Star Wars to Disney) like what Gene Roddenbery of Star Trek did with Paramount, where George Lucas remains as an overseer consultant Co-Executive Producer with his company and Disney just split the profits with George. However never happened.
Disney has a choice. Keep the team that has destroyed Star Wars or rebuild the franchise with talent loyal to SW Canon.

The Ahsoka series started out with a reasonable following because people still believed that the "world between worlds" was going to be used to retcon the sequel trilogy. When that didn't happen, the large swath of remaining stragglers (myself included) finally realised the Dave was part of the problem.
That timetravel nonsense should be retconed even more than the sequels. You can´t fix one bad thing with another even worse thing.
And I don´t care if the sequels are retconed or not because they are just three movies which can be easily ignored: nothing starts with them, nothing ends with them.
Pissney would have to decanonize and remake not-Mando S3 into Mando S3 to make me consider giving them a chance again. Because S3 was supposed to be the epic end of Mando´s journey from an underdog foundling to the king and the scheming villain Bo-Tox-Karen was supposed to finally pay for her atrocities and d-i-e by the darksaber she wanted so much, and I will never accept anything else as canon. Therefore anything which acknowledges Bo-Karen S1 camouflaged as Mando S3 as canon is not canon to me by default.
I also don´t consider that stupid animated fanfic Rebels as canon and that trash-tier Mary Sue Dangerhair doesn´t exist to me. Neither does the timetravel portal which was shoehorned by Failoni only to bring back his pet OC Ahwoka.

Why would we even want George to come back at this point? What, so they can destroy anything he makes again? There is nothing George or anyone can do to reconcile Disney Star Wars with actual Star Wars. Fundamentally they're opposed in virtually every way and the only reason why Disney Star Wars is even called Star Wars at all is because Iger scammed George out of the franchise so they could thieve the name. Hell, Iger is the one who even published how he did it. Nothing about Disney is Star Wars and it never will be.

There were some excellent episodes of the Clone Wars & Rebels. It is also true there were long stretches of these series that were unwatchable. Ahsoka, the live-action series, had some cool moments. It could have been great, but mostly it was "meh". So, I'm skeptical that Dave Filoni helming the Star Wars franchise is the change we have been looking for.
Filoni was a story board artist. Means he can come up with some cool visuals. But he sucks donkey d for story and plot. Ergo, The Clone Wars and Rebels has SOME good interesting episodes, but a lot of head scratching WTF. I actually like them for what they are, but now have to reject all of it, for how badly they broke canon.
What in the world, the only rumors about Lucas are internet podcasters. The dude is 80yrs old. Does anyone know any 80yr olds? They are not going to buy a 5bn dollar company, and then start the process of making a movie that takes 5 or 6yrs to come out. By the time he bought the company, wrote a script and then did all the things to get the movie filmed he would be around 90yrs old. They dont have the energy or the mental capacity for that type of commitment. Not to mention he has just as good of a chance of dying in that time period as being alive to see it complete. People act like they dont know that age is a real thing.
The reason he sold it, was because he was through with Star Wars. Sure, he's upset with them messing with his "children", but he should of thought of that before giving them to Disney.

Not Big Blockbusters, but Clint Eastwood still turned out some good stuff at 80+. He's 94 now. His movies were smaller and weren't huge extravaganzas, but take away the money involved, Eastwood is/was a much better producer/director than Lucas. Overall, you are correct, but there are exceptions.

I'm a parent of 2, I would love to know that BEFORE watching a show or movie, why do we have to keep getting caught off guard and by suprise, and then we have to quickly try to explain what our kids are seeing when we had no idea what we were going to be subjected to.

I have never had confidence on Filoni's vision for SW, so it might be good of Lucas to buy it back, but frankly some of the movies outside of his ability to control we're actually I think probably better than what he can put together himself, I'm sorry Solo and Rogue One are excellent pictures, and are some of the best of any of the Star Wars franchise all together.
"Solo and ... are excellent pictures" Read A C Crispin's trilogy and Brian Daley trilogy which slots in between The Hutt Gambit and Rebel Dawn - which ends in the ANH cantina, and then watch Solo again to see why it isn't "excellent".
Were shareholders smart enough to pick up on essentially an admission of money laundering? The writer of ep.4 posted on X that the episode was devoid of action because they were short on funds. Not only did she admit a curious mismanagement of funds, she raised the question of, is ep.4 where they tried to make up for missing funds or did it mark the start of declining episodes from here on out.
George should know the saying:

I grew up on the clone wars and I remember it fondly. However I have seen how the weeds like filoni and Kennedy have been allowed to grow out of control without George and just taint every corner of Star Wars. When filoni was first getting his live action shot I was somewhat hopeful but that’s been entirely dashed now. Personally I don’t have the same reverence for Rosario Dawson that so many people do. Idk if I’m just missing whatever films she was in that built that image but personally all I know her as is Ashoka and also a few small roles here and there and her role in dying light 2. Because of that my opinion of her is not good. I think Ashoka should stay as a younger woman with a more light personality overall but that’s just me. I feel like George wants to come back but the ones who claim to have learned from him won’t let him have any control because it’s behind closed doors and they can keep that event on the hush hush. I hope Disney burns and all its IPs get sold off yard sale style so we can atleast have a chance of good stories under new ownership.
The only "Force Fu" I want to see in Star Wars is the LIGHTSABER Form IV called "Ataru", which is the most acrobatic form of actual LIGHTSABER combat--NOT whatever ridiculous thing that "Force Fu" in episode 1 was.

Never believed for a second George was coming back. Is it possible he will be a producer or something on a project maybe but I don’t see him coming back and having an active role in things anymore. I did the Savi’s workshop build your own lightsaber 5 times in the past. I built all 4 of the generation 1 sabers at $200 a pop. I built the power and control generation 2 because I thought it was the coolest looking of the 4 at $220. I proudly display these lightsabers in my office. For my birthday this year I’m going to Disneyland for the 1st time and have already made a reservation to build another lightsaber the protection and defense which is going to cost another $220. That’s not all the star wars stuff in my office which also includes others things I’ve purchased from star wars galaxies edge. Try and tell me I’m not a fan. Yes us true fans are willing to buy stuff and display it proudly.

Witches were a dumb idea (although i like the idea of different force sects) and so was bringing back maul. Maul was a cool character but his story should have been told in the time before his death in episode I

The whole Mando series was cool when it was Mando. Then Felony was promoted and it was rewritten into Bo-Tox-Karen: The Terr0rist´s Sob Story and it lost its coolness.

I've been pointing out Filoni's flaws since Clone Wars. He's never understood character motivation. I can point out dozens and dozens of instances in CW, Ahsoka and book of Boba where characters make ridiculous decisions that just don't make logical sense. Nice to see others opening their eyes to Filoni's lack of talent

Filoni was GIVEN the Affectation of Lucas's Padawan by Industry Reporters well Prior to 2012. Because Back Then there Really wasn't any Damage. Just some DISLIKE of the Prequels really which Today are considered Master Pieces by comparison to Disney's era.

Favreau handled Ahsoka BETTER than He Did and theres NO COMPARISON.
The SUCCESS and POSITIVE RECEPTION to her Live Action Debut in THE MANDALORIAN was All DUE to JOHN FAVREAU...Not Dave Filoni.

There is information that George is being involved in something. Everyone think it is together with Filoni. But it is (not confirmed) Jon who asked for his advice or input for his movie. That makes sense, since Jon is the one that has tried to continue George's work and he also had a plan to bring in the OT heroes in his Mandowerse. He brought back Luke then Kathleen and Dave(?) took over. Maybe Jon has an idea to bring in not just Luke but also Han and Leia in his movie and wants George input to get them right. We know Jon wanted them to be together as we fans knew them, now he has the chance

I wouldn’t say one disaster after another that’s extreme. I hate what’s going on right now but the first 2 seasons of mando were awesome, and Andor was cool, Ahsoka had some cool in it. All of Dave’s animation story telling is great. I honestly feel he doesn’t like the stuff in the acolyte probably. Anyway, just my thoughts

Filoni really screwed up Ahsoka which was nearly impossible to do! But his crew found a way! He made it all about his cartoon which Ahsoka was dropped into. It was just horrible!

At this point you can only hope a Star Wars fan with allot of money buys a shit load of Disney stock to a point they practically own Disney and they fire EVERYONE and hire people who just want to tell good stories, and make money.
But if Disney's stocks drop low enough it could actually happen but I wouldn't hold my breath.
