Mario and Luigi were incompetent, ridiculous, overwhelmed dim wits, all so that a weak female character, the Princess, could become a super bad-ass, masculine ninja girl-boss, and save them all with her insufferable perfection. That’s a lot like modern Disney’s playbook. There was no need to diminish, embarrass and degrade the bros, even IF they just had to make the princess an insufferable Mary Sue. Needless to say, I found it to be a film ruined by modern politics.
I hated Finn and highly disliked Rey. Disney is just incapable to make any Starwars. If Disney would have listened to Lucas and the fans, they would be sitting pretty and on top right now.
Didn't mind Finn but Rey was so one dimensional. Just too focused and intense. Compared to original characters/actors - nothing special. No unique quirks/traits. Boring.

I disagree that no one would care if Disney came out with something good now! If the Mandalorian movie still happens, I would go see it! Heck if Gina Carrano's lawsuit is successful, which it could very well be, then she's able to get back into the Mandalorian, especially the upcoming movie, then I would see it for her since she made the series worth watching!

The one true hope Ive seen with these things happening, is the monumental colossal uprising with Tolkien LOTR "fans" against Rings Of Power. They truly messed with the wrong "fanbase" dont mess with 80+ year old, worldwide, fantasy world that have literally almost sold as many books as the bible itself, LOTR has transcended all cultures, people, and places. Not a peep now from anyone from ROP which is slim on the boot of Tolkien. All Disney Star Wars is met with utter apathy now, while Toilken they shake in their boots terrified. Let us see if the new animated moive, and Hunt for Gollum, is a beacon of hope from other studios and Steve Jackson. The tide may be turning, away from "Woke" DEI movement just back to plain old good storytelling and entertainment.
Life long Star Wars fan here. I`m 55 this year and saw it back in December 1977. First ever film i went to see on my own without a parent, i was 8. I can say, thankfully i haven`t watched a single episode of this shite, don`t have to when you have guys like George, Drinker & Nerdrotic on the case, but here`s my prediction for this series. It`ll turn out that Shmi Skywalker was a member or daughter of 3 black / asian / pakistani non binary lesbian witches, Anakin was conceived using this `thread` and due to some coven wide jedi kill squad she fled to hide on Tattooine. It`ll show that Shmi all along was `the chosen one` who will bring balance to the force, not anakin, because she being one of his mothers was the one giving him life, therefore if she didn`t birth him, he wouldn`t be able to go on and destroy the Jedi and the Sith. That`s how i see this show going, and that`s just based on what i know of Disney and KK.

Ill only watch the first trilogy of Star Wars as they made most of them about 1 mile from where i lived and was brought up in my younger years in Borehamwood Elstree Studios North West London. They are the best 3 and Jon Favreau's Mandalorian (upto the end of season 2) was brilliant too. Kathleen Kennedy destroyed the direction of the Star Wars Franchise.

Let us suppose that Kennedy pushes all the traditional fans to forsake Lucasfilm productions. Unless the next generation of potential fans develops a taste for really crappy entertainment, no one will come to replace the fans Kennedy has lost. Lucasfilm is simply committing corporate suicide. Iger could have prevented this, but he has been killing franchises of his own. When he is finished, he will have pushed people to abandon the parks, too. In my view, let it all burn. After the decay has turned to ash, the new growth will come.
