@@steffanyschwartz7801 ha!!! IKR. Too funny
Hayden knew. He knew the memes.
LOL
it's outragous, it's unfair!
He knew which is why he is a true Star Wars hero. It makes me so angry how people used to hate him
@@JusticeForStarWars I know, right! He played Anakin perfectly!!
@@RedDragonForce2 I’m just happy that fans are accepting him now I almost cried while watching celebration footage
Nothing makes me happier than seeing Hayden get the attention and cheers he deserves.
Agreed
It doesn't happen often on recommended videos. But I'm your 1000th like!
Yeah people may have disliked a lot of what the prequels were about but Hayden was always a source of fond memories and fun times.
For me, Hayden's skill was never in question. Watch Shattered Glass and you'll see.
@@themarky2714 sadly the mainstream viewers seemed to either ignore anything he did after or dead pan stuff they didnt even watch. The way people acted about it was basically bullying...the little kid who played him in ep 1 stopped acting because he was bullied so much. And he was a kid still. Some fans are absolutely ruthless as if they dont even see actors as actual people with lives outside their characters
I love how nervous Hayden looks- like the inner Youngling Slayer is about to return- and the way Ewan laughs just adds that *MWAH* chef’s kiss
Big crowds were always making him anxious. It is a consequence of fucked up childhood by his mother.
You also kind of have to imagine the subconcious confusion... I mean, he was basically pissed on for years after the prequels, and now, for everyone to just erupt in cheers for him...... dude's probably either wondering what people are smoking or thinking "damn, those sequel movies really must have sucked, huh?" ... but those cheers for him now, he deserves every bit of them, not only cause of the accolades he have rightfully earned, but also cause after being treated like crap by the fanbase for so long, it must feel like a real sweet apology 20 years in the making.
@@Egobyte83 tbh most people grew up watching the prequels LOVED them.. i wonder if the new younger generation is thinking the same with the sequels..
@@DaveO0808 Most likely. The Star Wars fanbase is notorious for how picky and spiteful and downright toxic it can be. I don't think that was always the case, though, as I remember a time before the prequels, when everyone enjoyed Star Wars for what it was and opinions were very balanced and civil. Star Wars was also always kind of in the background, it wasn't really that talked about in that massive gap between -83 and -97 (when the Special Editions got released, breathing life into a seemingly mainstream-fading franchise for the first time in a decade and a half)
Then the prequels came out; people hated them for not being what they themselves, in their infinite wisdom, had imagined how prequels to their beloved Star Wars trilogy should have been. It didn't help that Lucas wasn't the best director (understatement of the year) and wrote dialogue like a twelve year old with a typewriter.
But all in all, I always thought the prequels were servicable, the third one was even great; it wasn't until a few years after that I realized that the hate for those movies (and Hayden in particular, but to be fair, Jake Lloyd got mercilessly dissected and shat on too) had taken on a life of it's own...
...and everything after that has basically followed the same gameplan; "is it new? shit on it. Is it different? Shit on it. Is it made by Disney? Oh GOOD GOD, you better believe we'll shit on it!!"
There is so much elitism within the fanbase today which just sucks the fun out of it when all you see in forums are fanboys hating on characters, actors and premises because they, for one reason or another, feel entitled to pick a grudge with content which usually is brand new.
These past weeks, Obi Wan was met by the same treatment all over the place. I found legit nothing exceptionally wrong with it, but oh dear god did we have opinions everywhere about how it sucked, it was crap, "I'm honestly not even gonna watch anymore" yadda yadda yadda. Then the last two episodes were released, and the haters slowly crawled back to the stand and muttered something about "at least it's better than Book of Boba Fett".
I'm so sick of this. Like, no one has an opened mind anymore. They are SO unwilling to give it the benefit of the doubt and instead absolutely rush to judgement on their keyboards. They have already pre-made templates where they have this need for content to fall into, as if the content creators had any kind of obligation to them, the viewers, when in fact, only source material is supposed to remain intact, but everything else is fair game.
They're cynical spiteful half-wits, all of them.
I love Star Wars.
But I hate the Star Wars fanbase.
@@Egobyte83 To be fair, the Obi Wan miniseries is an absolute writer's catastrophe. The acting ranged from okay to good (I had no serious qualms with Moses Ingram's acting), even the kids did well, which is a great plus, the visuals were pretty good, save for some seemingly cheaply put together CGI, but the writing... oh God, the writing. And I'm not talking about dialogue, dialogues were fine, but the actual story is just a heaping mess that foregoes any rationality. From terribly written characters (Reva's whole existence) through brain damaged character decisions ("Yes, Obi Wan had surrendered himself, so we're just gonna have him escorted back by no more than two storm troopers, and give him all the opportunity to bail his and every else's ass from the planet"), to straight up skipping story elements that were too difficult to explain properly. All the while portraying Obi Wan as an absolute pushover for the first 4-5 episodes. I mean, the fact that the series is about the titular character is already a step up from earlier productions (looking at you, Book of Boba Fett), but they still couldn't move past the 'make the lead character absolutely incompetent' line. That is, until the season finale, which was actually decently put together. But 5 episodes of borderline infuriating storytelling is not excused by one decent finale.
I'm sorry, but I'm afraid sometimes things are simply bad.
Now that he’s gotten older his voice sounds more like the clone wars TV show which actually works in our favor
His voice was always like that he changed it for Anakin
A surprise to be sure, but a welcomed one.
I personally think that’s a downside
I’ve never really noticed that but it does
That's a downgrade. We want precuels Anakin, not Clone Wars Anakin.
"So what have you been up to before the Kenobi series?"
Hayden: "I ran an orphanage."
"Aww... To help them get adopted, right?"

I love how Christensen looks confused. Since everyone is loving him now. He looks like he thinks he is being pranked.
That's a funny thing. When his Star Wars movies came out many people hated it, because they still remembered well Episodes IV-VI. He was not their Darth Vader.
But! Most of these people took their kids to watch together these movies and now these kids are adults who are sitting there, in a meetings like this one.
I wish Jake Lloyd had experienced a similar situation, not only Christensen. It's outrageous, it's unfair! Lol

God I'm so happy Hayden and Ewan are getting all the recognition they deserve. People really thought that they were bad in the prequels and I don't know why. Hayden played ankain as he was instructed to and did well and Ewan was just amazing at being obi wan. I really hope we see these two more as it's obvious fans want more and they both would love to play as these characters again.
I mean there were plenty of bad lines and deliveries. Time hasn’t changed that. It may have been the directing, but that doesn’t make it better.
@@andrewadams8601 True, but that was always true of Star Wars movies. Nothing in the prequel trilogy is significantly worse than the confrontations between Luke/Leia and Han/Leia on Endor.
It's not the actors, it's the directing. It always has been.
They thought that because the prequels were bad. Poor writing reflects badly on the actor no matter how good they are.
My words all these years - Anakin in the prequels was supposed to look like an angry petty child, which Hayden portraited perfectly.
Anakin in the Clone Wars series is just different.
@@SirPhysics correct
Honestly, after everything he went through, I'm not surprised he was nervous. He's such a great guy and so glad that he's getting the recognition he deserves. !!
So Obi Wan was indeed trying not to laugh when he said “I saw a security record of him … killing younglings…”
I can’t get that thought outta my head now when I look back on that scene when he puts his hand over his mouth LMFAO
I'm thinking he thought, "These people are so crazy that if I say one line, they'll lose their shit". I think Christiansen and McGregor were laughing at how fanatical the fans are.
It’d be so fun and rewarding I bet to do that, it’s wholesome lol. And it’s true, just say any line that’s anywhere noteworthy and you’ll get crowds of people screaming in joy at you lmao
He had his life ruined by the "fans", alongside Jake Lloyd. He already knows how mental they are.
LMAO if one comment that someone posted was true that whole stage area was empty until the whole area knew the 2 special guest were these 2 lmao 🤣 I would have paid to see a flock of fans run to one stage to see 2 amazing ass people 💖
@@BarberJ95 I agree with everything besides that it is wholesome. Fans going nuts because of famous people can get out of hand. There are a lot of good fans out there but there are some that take it too far and ruin it all. Fans that hate you with a passion and fans that maniacally love you.
@@BarberJ95 Its not wholesome, I would cringe if people did that to me. You cant even talk about serious issues, without fans screaming at every word.
This is why I would never become a celebrity.
In a way it was good that Padme learned before the birth that Anakin just wasn't cut out to put up with younglings.
bruh xD
He showed that he needed to cut out younglings from his life.
But she could
@@Shawzyboy - She'd lost the will to live. 😁
@The Wandering M - Weird how they could take General Grievous's brain and guts and stick them into a cyborg body. But Padme is feeling sad and she dies in the delivery room.
i love how hayden seems to be loving this and becoming a fan also the interviewer seems to be hold back his screaming ahaha
He got really horrendous abuse for a long time, as did the child actor for Anakin, so he's probably feeling very conflicted about all the attention.
@@Cheesus-Sliced The man must be thinking ' The movies hasn't changed a bit since the premiere... so why do I was so hated back then and now I'm getting recognition? '

I'm so happy the people react so positively to Hayden nowadays. From what I can gather, the guy is a good actor who genuinely loves star wars, but even a good actor can only do so much with what he had to work with in the prequels.
the prequels age like a fine wine. they get better and better the years to go tbh
It was a good role, well written and he played it well. People didn't understand the nuance of the character, and they ruined his life and Jake Lloyds over it.
@@Cheesus-Sliced people did understand the nuance, but the dialogue was poorly written and delivered in many places. Hayden can act, and his acting in the show was on point. Same for Ewan.
@@andrewadams8601 dialogue poorly written? Coming across awkward, like he is barely human? The slave child that never saw humans other than his parents until he was hitting puberty, at which point he met a woman for the first time then joined an order that disallows relationships?
It was written quite well and acted quite well to be able to portray that he was essentially a human alien.
Script and directing matters. I feel the problem was Lucas wanted to create such a stark contrast of his arc from good to bad, the 'good' dialogue was overly saccharine, and thus lame.

They had the dude who was like the hype man getting everyone going trying to get the stage area filled up and he was saying stuff like “we’ve got two very special guests coming out”

@Nicole Rosa Well, millenials have turned pretty much any line from Revenge of the Sith into a cult/meme thing. In this case they mixed “this is where the fun begins” said in the opening battle, with the killing of the younglings. So, just a pretty cruel tasteless joke really.
