Hayden didn’t watch clone wars and Rebels to prepare for the kenobi show, it was for the ahsoka show, cause he’s got some mindblowingly emotional scenes with Ahsoka in that show, and now possibly in Dave’s movie too. For instance, somebody ask him “I’d love to see a what if scenario through the world between worlds of Ahsoka fighting Anakin on mustafar instead of Obi-Wan, what do you think about that, and how do you think that would play out?” Now watch him get nervous very quickly… :)

You can really tell how happy/relieved Hayden is for all the love he gets. They did him so bad all those years back and I'm glad the Fandom got to redeem themselves.
Hayden is actually starting to sound like his Clone Wars counterpart, Matt Lanter. While that's age making his voice deeper, I think it fits perfectly for Anakin.
Hayden and his performance is the actual template for Anakin. Matt did great, but he was only modeling Hayden’s performance and making necessary adjustments to adapt it to long-form animation. Matt is great, but Hayden is the real Anakin.

James Earl Jones has proven time and time again that he can play Darth Vader, just have him do it.

@@randylaw4503 I'm one of the few that has always loved the prequels the most. Not that I think the originals are as bad as the new Disney one's. I've turned to videogames for my fill now. Way better story telling than the Disney movies. About to pick up kotor2 to play that for the first time. We need a kotor 3, but I'm interested to see what star wars eclipse will look like. Would be awesome to see Hayden in that game, if it even takes place in a time where he'd exist.
Oh yeah you can see the social anxiety in him for sure, basically stage fright but only for crowds of people and he's the center of attention. I could only imagine the pressure, I hated doing ANYTHING related to presenting in front of the class back in school, all of school. I don’t think Hayden understands how much we love him and what a great job he really did with such a tough role to fill. Through the roof love and excitement for that man. Him and Ewan’s chemistry and conflict as brothers was absolutely unforgettable.

I’m so happy for Hayden. He seems like such a genuinely nice person. It’s so unfortunately he was treated so poorly by critics and fans in the trilogy. He was so young and had no real experience. It was really wasn’t fair to give him such a hard time when it was the script and writing that really hurt those films. Looking back, he did an really good job, all things considered, especially in Revenge of the the Sith.
With the horrible script, dialogue, and terrible directing we would have needed Al Pacino in his prime to have had a chance pulling off Anakin. And it would have only been a chance.
Agreed on all counts. He was only doing his job. It does my heart so good to see him being celebrated as an actor and a person who brought Anakin to life (and Jake Lloyd did an amazing job as the youngest Anakin!)
As a writer myself I agree completely. The love story between Anakin and Padme was awful, totally unrealistic, not believable in the slightest and just looked fake as hell. Then there was the “I truly deeply love you” after they spend what, ten days together and Padme rebuffs his advances? Who does that?
No matter how many criticism Hayden got for his acting, I'm so happy that he's wants to return for the role and I love that Ewan is basically being a father figure towards him, making sure that he is safe and happy that the fans are absolutely welcomed by his return
I’m surprised to learn Ewan was the one who asked for Hayden to return for this series, I thought Ewan would’ve forgotten all about him after the Revenge Of The Sith premiere! So heartwarming to hear they’re as close as they were 20 years ago.
@@ytuser_3122 in my eyes, Hayden did his best with what the material he was given in the prequels. He didn't deserved the hate that he got for playing the role. As an actor, he was simply following what the script and the director told him to do. If you have seen Shattered Glass, you know that Hayden has the potential to be a good actor if the material and dialogue for his character was better. This is his moment, it's his comeback. And apparently Ewan is an executive producer of this series so I'm sure he has a big responsibility for the series too, offers what's the best of this series need. Hopefully Hollywood offers him more great scripts to work with, he deserves more great roles than just being in Star Wars

This was 11 minutes of constant smiling, bringing back all those memories from childhood. Ewan hasn’t aged a bit, and Hayden looks such a genuine, friendly guy - would love to have a beer with him one day. Really looking forward to seeing them together on the screen again!

"there is still good in him". this is not only for Anakin but this is also for Hayden. for me, this means people are now seeing how amazing and dedicated hayden was in his portrayal of anakin. he owned the character. he did his best and it took time for people to see that. but thankfully they did see the "good" in him. and now he deserves all the love he is getting as was anakin deserves to be redeemed.

When Ewan said that the prequels were made for a different generation that didn’t have so much of a voice, I felt that. My self and countless others were that generation, I remember going to see all three episodes at the movies. I especially remember going to the midnight release of Episode III with my toy Anakin Skywalker lightsaber, the theater was absolutely packed! We had gotten there 1 hour early, just to get seats. I never even knew that Hayden received so much hate for his role as Anakin until about few years ago and it baffled me. To me and many others, he is Anakin, just as Ewan is Obi-Wan. I’m overjoyed that the duo is back together making Star Wars again
Yep, one of the first movies I saw in theaters was Phantom Menace. I still remember being blown away by the pod race scene and then when Obi cut Maul in half I gasped . Loved it.
I'm sad to say I think it was the original trilogy "fans" that loaded the hate onto him :-( That was my generation .... but I saw the prequels as an adult and loved them, I ignored all that stuff. I am very relieved to see that time is showing the love he deserves. I think he was a great Anakin.

To see the two of them walk out onto stage, Ewan in a classy brown and white attire and Hayden in a black suit, makes me think it was either planned or they have adopted the styles and become modernized versions of their characters. Truly wonderful either way

Unlike Hayden, Ewan always seemed to have this undestructible strength in his personality. Seeing Hayden receiving so much appreciation now is just heartwarming. And in my opinion it's all more than deserved - Hayden's performance and the prequels in general were good! I'll always love Lucas' work.
Hayden was vilified by the press in the prequels but his performance was fantastic seeing how he was hampered by some lacklustre writing and a bland female love interest. I thought his performance was stellar 20 years ago and I am so glad he is being recognized now!

Hayden played Anakin so perfectly. I literally couldn’t imagine Anakin being anyone else. It’s so amazing to see him on stage and smiling. He’s finally getting g the love he deserved all along. As a fan you want to know that it matters as much to the actors as it does yourself and I think now that he is getting all the love in the world, he has taken to Star Wars more so than he ever has.
I know that he was a huge starwars fan since childhood and it meant a lot to him to become Vader way back then. I watched all the behind the scenes and him talking about that moment he walked on set as Vader for the first time and it broke his heart when he got all that hate after. So I am so happy for him now that he can enjoy it at last. ❤
When Obi Wan said the prequels were made for a different generation it hit me. I watched the original trilogy in early grade school and got to watch all 3 prequels in the time between grade school and high school and I loved them. When I talk to people 10+ years older then me they were annoyed by the prequels and how "childish" they were but now I get it. I was just the right age at the right time.
I'm in a bit different of an age group than you but I've seen the same thing happen. Basically I started on the clone wars as my first introduction to star wars. I was in elementary and middle school as the show was coming out on Netflix, and finished the series before even watching A New Hope. So I started the series knowing vaguely who Darth Vader is and Luke Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi, etc, because I also played the different Lego star wars games. I watched the first 6 seasons of TCW over and over, countless times back in I'd say 2010-2014. All before even watching ANH. And back then people hated TCW, hated Ahsoka and hated the childish animation. Now people look back and realize TCW is kind of the glue that holds the prequels together, watching the prequels 3 in a row leaves a little to be desired because these time gaps are huge. But when you get the trio of Kenobi, Anakin, and Ahsoka for so many episodes it just makes sense that Anakin does what he does. It provides a huge backbone to their dynamic. I mean think about it, the prequels are about a week's glimpse into Anakin's life each movie, it's hard to be convinced he turned into Darth Vader in that amount of time.
I noticed they stepped up their sword play. Tons better than it was before. This was an epic series. Every episode had me at edge of seat. I never had a problem with Hayden at all but I know he did get raked over the coals before. Glad he’s getting the love now. I was not ready for the menace that emanates from him on screen. Didn’t think he could exude that based on his body type but he brought it! Loved ❤️ that they brought back jej to voice Vader and there is a scene that was sooooo good and unexpected and nicely done relative to the voice. I Won’t spoil but you’ll know it when you see it. 😆

Hayden is a true representation of why never to give a flying piece of carcass what critics think. In the end, the world unfolds as it should. He was criticised back in 2005 and now look at him. The prequels were amazing. I absolutely love his adaptation of Anakin Skywalker and Darth Vader. There is no other actor I can imagine replacing him.

I've turned to videogames for my fill now. Way better story telling than the Disney movies. About to pick up kotor2 to play that for the first time.
We need a kotor 3, but I'm interested to see what star wars eclipse will look like. Would be awesome to see Hayden in that game, if it even takes place in a time where he'd exist.
Oh yeah you can see the social anxiety in him for sure, basically stage fright but only for crowds of people and he's the center of attention. I could only imagine the pressure, I hated doing ANYTHING related to presenting in front of the class back in school, all of school. But hey props to Hayden for keeping a good composure, Ewan sounded more nervous than Hayden if you ask me lol

I don’t think Hayden understands how much we love him and what a great job he really did with such a tough role to fill. Through the roof love and excitement for that man. Him and Ewan’s chemistry and conflict as brothers was absolutely unforgettable.

I’m so happy for Hayden. He seems like such a genuinely nice person. It’s so unfortunately he was treated so poorly by critics and fans in the trilogy. He was so young and had no real experience. It was really wasn’t fair to give him such a hard time when it was the script and writing that really hurt those films. Looking back, he did an really good job, all things considered, especially in Revenge of the the Sith.
With the horrible script, dialogue, and terrible directing we would have needed Al Pacino in his prime to have had a chance pulling off Anakin. And it would have only been a chance.
Agreed on all counts. He was only doing his job. It does my heart so good to see him being celebrated as an actor and a person who brought Anakin to life (and Jake Lloyd did an amazing job as the youngest Anakin!)
As a writer myself I agree completely. The love story between Anakin and Padme was awful, totally unrealistic, not believable in the slightest and just looked fake as hell. Then there was the “I truly deeply love you” after they spend what, ten days together and Padme rebuffs his advances? Who does that?

No matter how many criticism Hayden got for his acting, I'm so happy that he's wants to return for the role and I love that Ewan is basically being a father figure towards him, making sure that he is safe and happy that the fans are absolutely welcomed by his return

@@ytuser_3122 in my eyes, Hayden did his best with what the material he was given in the prequels. He didn't deserved the hate that he got for playing the role. As an actor, he was simply following what the script and the director told him to do. If you have seen Shattered Glass, you know that Hayden has the potential to be a good actor if the material and dialogue for his character was better. This is his moment, it's his comeback. And apparently Ewan is an executive producer of this series so I'm sure he has a big responsibility for the series too, offers what's the best of this series need. Hopefully Hollywood offers him more great scripts to work with, he deserves more great roles than just being in Star Wars

And even if somebody still criticized his acting sure it's no problem to do that but put the fingers on George Lucas who gave him a very poor writing and direction to work with. Hayden did his best with what he was given in the prequels. As an actor himself, he was basically following what the script and the director told him to do. Hayden has the potential to be a good actor, he just need a better material to work with and hoping that this would be a great comeback for him to the point that Hollywood would offer him a lot of great scripts to work with

When Ewan said that the prequels were made for a different generation that didn’t have so much of a voice, I felt that. My self and countless others were that generation, I remember going to see all three episodes at the movies. I especially remember going to the midnight release of Episode III with my toy Anakin Skywalker lightsaber, the theater was absolutely packed! We had gotten there 1 hour early, just to get seats. I never even knew that Hayden received so much hate for his role as Anakin until about few years ago and it baffled me. To me and many others, he is Anakin, just as Ewan is Obi-Wan. I’m overjoyed that the duo is back together making Star Wars again
Yep, one of the first movies I saw in theaters was Phantom Menace. I still remember being blown away by the pod race scene and then when Obi cut Maul in half I gasped . Loved it.
I'm sad to say I think it was the original trilogy "fans" that loaded the hate onto him :-( That was my generation .... but I saw the prequels as an adult and loved them, I ignored all that stuff. I am very relieved to see that time is showing the love he deserves. I think he was a great Anakin.

Hayden was vilified by the press in the prequels but his performance was fantastic seeing how he was hampered by some lacklustre writing and a bland female love interest. I thought his performance was stellar 20 years ago and I am so glad he is being recognized now!

Hayden played Anakin so perfectly. I literally couldn’t imagine Anakin being anyone else. It’s so amazing to see him on stage and smiling. He’s finally getting g the love he deserved all along. As a fan you want to know that it matters as much to the actors as it does yourself and I think now that he is getting all the love in the world, he has taken to Star Wars more so than he ever has.

When Obi Wan said the prequels were made for a different generation it hit me. I watched the original trilogy in early grade school and got to watch all 3 prequels in the time between grade school and high school and I loved them. When I talk to people 10+ years older then me they were annoyed by the prequels and how "childish" they were but now I get it. I was just the right age at the right time.
I'm in a bit different of an age group than you but I've seen the same thing happen. Basically I started on the clone wars as my first introduction to star wars. I was in elementary and middle school as the show was coming out on Netflix, and finished the series before even watching A New Hope.
So I started the series knowing vaguely who Darth Vader is and Luke Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi, etc, because I also played the different Lego star wars games. I watched the first 6 seasons of TCW over and over, countless times back in I'd say 2010-2014. All before even watching ANH. And back then people hated TCW, hated Ahsoka and hated the childish animation. Now people look back and realize TCW is kind of the glue that holds the prequels together, watching the prequels 3 in a row leaves a little to be desired because these time gaps are huge. But when you get the trio of Kenobi, Anakin, and Ahsoka for so many episodes it just makes sense that Anakin does what he does. It provides a huge backbone to their dynamic. I mean think about it, the prequels are about a week's glimpse into Anakin's life each movie, it's hard to be convinced he turned into Darth Vader in that amount of time.
I noticed they stepped up their sword play. Tons better than it was before. This was an epic series. Every episode had me at edge of seat. I never had a problem with Hayden at all but I know he did get raked over the coals before. Glad he’s getting the love now. I was not ready for the menace that emanates from him on screen. Didn’t think he could exude that based on his body type but he brought it! Loved ❤️ that they brought back jej to voice Vader and there is a scene that was sooooo good and unexpected and nicely done relative to the voice. I Won’t spoil but you’ll know it when you see it. 😆

Hayden is a true representation of why never to give a flying piece of carcass what critics think. In the end, the world unfolds as it should. He was criticised back in 2005 and now look at him. The prequels were amazing. I absolutely love his adaptation of Anakin Skywalker and Darth Vader. There is no other actor I can imagine replacing him.
It’s amazing to see the two together . If I was Ewan, my first word to break the ice would have been “Hello there!”

Hayden did an amazing role as anikan. He really brought the conflict anikan had to life. He was born to be Darth Vader. Great job Hayden you are a legend!!
Hayden proved that he is The Chosen One after the last episode of Ahsoka episode! The line is now blurred between the animated Anakin and live action.

Ewan always got love from people. Some prequels haters would still admit "Ewans performance was the best thing in this trilogy"
But Hayden was done dirty by critics so its great seeing the love he's getting now
I was so young when these movies came out that I wasn't even aware people didn't like them until recently
