@@clidah4041 That’s what I’ve been doing for the most part, but I have noticed that my legs get tired before my lungs - if I’m really running for endurance; my lungs kind of get tired as a result of that. Doing something like running really fast in short bursts - like in soccer or something - completely gases out my lungs though, long before my legs.
Any suggestions besides just moderating my breathing? I usually go 4 steps in, 4 steps out, or 2 steps in and 4 out.

Dan Cater what you are failing to understand
Is I can do BOTH. I can run your mile in sub 5min, I’ve done it before. Took me 7months of focused training. I was stuck at 5:10 for a very long time. To break 5:00 was difficult for me, it took an all out sprint bc I weigh easily 30lbs more than you.
I have row’d your row, and run your run. I have taken it to the next level. That’s what I am saying.
Best of luck in your training. Bc my few reps of the box jumps completely Trump all the time and effort you are putting into your boring row. Beat yourself up all you want. I’m saying if you grew some balls you wouldn’t have to train so much to be in just as good, if not better shape, than you are now. That, is what I am saying. You are just at the beginning. You have much much more to learn.

Racing in High School I was around a lot of the same competitors and we would inch closer to that sub-5 mark. Once its broken though, its easy for that to become the new standard and at a certain point its easy to become desensitized. In college, just about everyone who races the mile as their main event is in the mid to low 4's. I hope I didn't come off as making it seem easy. It certainly takes a lot of dedication and training to get to the sub 5:00 mark and shows an excellent level of cardiovascular fitness and a harness of both the aerobic and anaerobic systems.

The mile is a brutal run. You inspire me to run more!
3 mile PR: 17:03- This was at Officer Candidate School in Fort Benning, GA in February 2019. I was running and rucking quite a bit during that course.

Sub 5 gives one bragging rights. Also, cross the finish line with an empty tank. Well done !Years ago I was training for a sub 3hr marathon and had good chance of doing it but a back disc herniated 2 weeks before the race. Sadly, I never attempted a sub 5 mile. Now I just run to stay in shape. I'm thankful that I still can do it.

I got 4:40 at state when I was 17 years old, 110 lbs. Now I'm 155lbs, and I'd like to see what I can do now. 190 and a sub 5 is insane! Great work!

This is very motivating for me, I'm 42 and I just started running (I'm so slow, 7:30 mile killed me) although I do a lot of other activities like tennis and muay thai. Videos like this help me to get better! Thanks

Running training takes time. I’m 41 and ytd my best time sits at 8:45 running three times a week. Gauge yourself after 10 runs and watch your sprint interval times. You’ll get it

Goku Runner good work. Keep at it. Definitely will help if you don’t run with a camera on the hand. Unless it’s tiny. Hopefully we make it to Boston with Nick. Check me out 😉
