    No need to remove that valve when you are taking out/putting back in the pump assembly. The cutout in the metal floorboard is actually wider towards the back, so just turn the valve towards the back of the car and you can get it through.

    Do you recommend pulling the fuse for the fuel pump, starting the car and letting it stall in order to relieve fuel pressure? I don't think I saw that mentioned in the video.

    • @Faber0k
      @Faber0k Před rokem

      Yes ive seen another shop video recommend that. You would have to reconnect the battery, start the car and let it die. and then disconnect the battery again. But im not a mechanic and if your fuel pump isnt working it might not matter..

    Easy way to get to seat bolts is from back with ratcheting wrench, just disconect back seat drop it forward and unscrew bolts. Btw on my 1.6 elantra its not so tight fit.

    I saw your assembly didn't come with a new pressure sensor. Is it good to use the old sensor since the car is used to that? Or should you use the new one?
    Also, when you buy a new assembly, does it come with a new fuel filter? Or do you have to buy that separate?

    • @TRevYo1
      @TRevYo1 Před 3 lety +1

      What exactly have you read about? I've had an issue with mine that's really strange for years now and it's never thrown a check engine light. Hyundai dealership said they wouldn't do anything until the light came on. I've tried a few different things myself, but no dice. When it drives, it's smooth as silk... No missing or anything. But sometimes when I start it up after it's sat for a while it takes at least two or three, maybe even four, seconds to catch. Also sounds a little strange. Haven't wanted to let someone just throw parts at it without a concrete answer so I've just dealt with it. It's never refused to start up, just kinda concerning and I'd love to have it fixed.

    Help guys! I have a 2012 Hyundai Elantra. 50,000 miles. The dealer I bought the vehicle from has tried to fix this problem 3 times and said they cannot replicate the problem. First they said bad gas, second bad spark plug , third it went to Hyundai and they did some recalls but unfortunately the problem is still happening. When i start the car sometimes it sputters like it will stall. It seems like the engine is struggling to get gas. Sometimes it happens even while im accelerating or even im reverse. The rpms drop a touch every time it sputters. Sometimes if im at a light i hit the gas and the car feels like its in neutral like i just revved the car up to 4000 rpms and it doesn’t move. I let off and hit the gas again and it goes. Fellas where do i start!! Help please

    quick hint: when replacing the pump to remove pressure from the lines unplug the fuel pump fuse and let the car die. option 2 although not recommended: goto fuel rail, find the pressure test valve, schraeder valve: remove cap and press down center core. unfortunately this will cause fuel spill into engine. hence i do not recommend this.
