    ► Our Website: mechaniclifestyle.com
    In this video, we will demonstrate how to remove and replace the fuel filter on Hyundai Elantra fifth generation. We demonstrated on a 2013 Hyundai Elantra GLS fuel filter replacement. It is hard to find just the filter sometimes so in some case you might have to buy the whole fuel pump assembly. Some models and years might differ. ►More Hyundai Elantra Repair Videos: goo.gl/6HZZwS

      how do u know when to replace the fuel filter?

    • @piotrfolczyk8589
      @piotrfolczyk8589 Před 5 lety

      Walczyk check owner’s manual for recommendation, that is always good place to start. Most new Japanese cars do not seem to have an issue with fuel filter. They act like it does not exist? Korean may not be so easy. Clogged filter would mean fuel starvation, I would expect engine not willing to run eagerly. Hard to start or no start at all in extreme condition.
      Lot depends on quality of fuel used. Was the car filled in reputable stations one may never come across the problem.

    Hi! I have a 2014 Elantra with 60Kmi which I have not used much since Covid. No check engine light. On Thanksgiving I drove 40 highway miles home - then it stalled once on a local roads at 30mph. Dash lights came on and engine shut off - but started right back up. Same on trip back. Same on Christmas. Could this be a fuel pump issue? A local mechanic says "No way fuel pump gonna go at only 60Kmi" and "fuel filter not gonna get clogged - it's in the tank" and "if fuel pump go - check engine light come on - we would get fuel sending error on computer". Please help! Thank you!

    Nice video, but maybe next time just pull the fuse for the fuel pump and then run the engine until it dies. That should remove all pressure from the fuel lines.

    Is this my ignition coil or it is the fuel pump or filter?

    What part number is the fuel filter? When I went to the dealer they said the OEM filter is good for 200,000 miles and when they replace it they replace the entire pump assembly.

    • @ronriggs9954
      @ronriggs9954 Před 5 lety +3

      Yeah I'm assuming that would be best because the filter is $33 at its cheapest and the entire assembly is $70 but if you're going to do all that work to get to it, you might as well change out the entire fuel pump, with a new assembly, which includes the filter.

    • @place_desjardins
      @place_desjardins Před 4 lety

      Sounds feasible, but you would still need to create a bypass in the in-tank fuel pump so the OEM fuel filter isn't needed. I'm guessing you would just connect the input and output hoses that go into the filter.
