I liked both but I have to say I absolutely love how the vase turned out. Funny enough, when you started, I thought the lamp was going to be my favourite. Well done! I would love to see you do more items like this once and awhile. I adore the furniture, but seeing how to do. Accessories to is a nice addition.

I love all of these flips. I love the look of concrete on the vase. Great idea for use baking soda over the paint for the concrete look. The lamp turned out amazing. Who would've ever thought that combining cinnamon and cloves to create a rustic look would turn out looking so great. Thanks Katie for the great makeovers and new techniques to revamp a plain piece into something unique.

That cornstarch is magical. What a great thing to do to break up a mass of a single colour. The vase and lamp were amazing and one thing that is easy to find at my favourite thrift store.

Katie, what a great video. The concrete vase really drew my attention. Now I’m taking a second look at the plastic mannequin I found in a dumpster behind a woman’s clothing store, brought it home, decoupaged it, and hung it up in my home office. Now I’m wondering how it would look concrete-ized?! Thanks for reminding us how looking at life through an eye of possibilities is exciting and wondrous. ♥️

Love the vases. I have a shiny reddish vase that I’ve painted twice and moved with me to my new house. It’s a great vase and I love its shape and versatility. Of course, it needs a redo to fit in. I’m going to try your spackle technique so I can use it here. I’m avoiding the landfill and saving on my decorating budget. I have to wait until spring as I don’t have any indoor space to do this-Wisconsin winter.

I’m trying to wrap my head around these new design ideas. They look very nice, I like the lamp more than the vase. So glad you’re showing us how to use paint on other stuff. By the way, my husband made a beautiful open cabinet for my china and other stuff. He stained the outside to match our dining table, and the inside to mimic blonde wood. We found a mirror at our local Salvation Army thrift store that was the perfect size. I wish I could share a photo of it with you, alas. Take my word, it came out beautiful!

Wonderful! I’ve tried doing some vases and they’re getting better with each attempt. I’d love to try to create some art!! Thanks for the inspiration and instructions.

Love the concrete look. May try this on a lamp. The wall art may also be on the to-do list as I have 3 canvases with stapled fabric and getting tired of them.

I actually have done something kinda similar. I had a pair of porcelain lamps that were in a terra cotta (very southwestern feel) kinda color. I took a dry brush and used a very soft white to go over any raised pattern in the lamp to give it more of a white washed look 👀

  • @bump_it_up_furniture1409

Very nice favorite is the lamp.
