How to reboot a CV axle 100 Series Toyota Land Cruiser or Lexus LX470

In this video I show you how to reboot the inboard side of a 100 series Toyota Land Cruiser CV axle. The outboard side is the same principle but the joint is not serviceable. If rebooting the outboard joint, one must first remove the inboard boot.

the outboard boot slips right off but the joint itself is non serviceable

my cv axles were of the tri-lobe type and a regular circular boot would not work. does anyone know where i can source one or a whole cv and cup inner joint kit thats circular?? i bough one new axle from the dealer and it was of the same type for $500. Also would a clicking while turning come from the inner joint of outer joint?

sounds like the dealer sold you an aftermarket part. look on the box and if it had -84 at the end of the part number, they sold you a remanufactured axle

If the splines are worn down, is it worth rebuilding?

it depends if you need spares that badly. I break enough axles that I keep a few handy even with worn splines
